Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 324: 324 production

The sisters handed their wages to all eight of them.

This time each of them received seven and a half yuan.

The sisters’ corn was also almost all peeled. Even though it was painful to spend the money, seeing only cotton left in the field, Zhao Yanli smiled.

”Eldest Sister, actually, spending this money was quite worth it.”

Zhao Yanping nodded as well, and the two went back to shelling corn. Luckily, they were used to farm work, and although shelling corn didn’t require walking around much, you could do it sitting down, but the fingers really suffered.

They worked tirelessly for six days, shelling all the corn, and it was placed in the corn shed. Fortunately, Tan Shaoting came by with meals, and the Li Family siblings came over to help.

They had already agreed. They would help their Eldest Brother and Second Brother after their own cotton was delivered to the public collection.

Su Yuanyuan’s family had now finished everything. The field was cleaned up.

Tan Shaoting would also harvest the vegetables from the courtyard.

Now, it was difficult for Su Yuanyuan to even get up.

”Yuanyuan, let’s go to the hospital,” Tan Shaoting finally spoke after breakfast one day. He lived in constant fear every day.

”Alright, let’s go.” It was almost nine months anyway. Going to the hospital was fine. Every moment, her waist was aching.

Tan Shaoting packed up the child’s things and their belongings that had been prepared at home, only then heading out to hitch the wagon.

Su Yuanyuan slowly got out of bed, now feeling like those she had seen before who couldn’t take care of themselves. It was really a bit depressing.

She had just stood on the ground, holding onto the edge of the bed trying to put on her shoes, when suddenly something started coming out from below.

Su Yuanyuan was startled. Was this the start of labor? She really didn’t know. But this feeling was just like described as the feeling when the water broke.

She felt her pants were wet. Su Yuanyuan’s face looked very distressed, how could the water break at this time?

She didn’t have any knowledge about this. Now she felt her stomach hurting more and more.

”Tan Shaoting, Tan Shaoting.” Now she couldn’t even get back onto the bed.

Outside, hitching the wagon, Tan Shaoting was also paying attention inside the house, hearing Su Yuanyuan’s voice made his legs go soft, and he ran into the room immediately.

”Yuanyuan, Yuanyuan.”

”I’m going into labor. I can’t go to the hospital. Help me get on the bed.”

Tan Shaoting’s face went pale with fear, he knew absolutely nothing about childbirth.

Su Yuanyuan was now in severe pain. She clearly knew it would be impossible to find someone with experience now.

”Go find Zhao Yanping.” She spoke with great difficulty.

Nearby, she was the only one who had given birth before. There was really no other choice now.

Tan Shaoting, trembling, helped Su Yuanyuan lie down. Going out was utterly impossible for him. But at home, the only other presence was a sleeping little girl on the bed. Even if she was awake, she couldn’t help.

”Yuanyuan, I’m not going, I’ll let the goat go.”

After saying that, he ran out. His hands were still trembling as he untied the goat’s leash.

”Go and get Zhao Yanping, the Eldest Sister from the Zhao Family, here. Hurry, Yuanyuan is about to give birth, and I can’t leave.”

He didn’t know if the goat understood, but he saw the goat charging out of the courtyard.

He took a few steps back into the house, desperately trying to calm himself.

Divine Sense entered into the belly, seeing indeed the child was coming out. He communicated with the children using Divine Sense.

He had been doing this often recently and could feel the children’s joyful spirits.

So he thought he’d try it now, and surprisingly, it worked. Su Yuanyuan felt her belly hurt less, so Tan Shaoting helped her onto the bedding, slowly moving her up, and then he used a cloth blanket to cover her, as the pants needed to come off.

”Now it’s just the two of us. Get the hot water ready. I’ll communicate with the child, and you get the baby’s pee pad and blanket I prepared.”

”Wrap them up just like the way we practiced.”

Tan Shaoting nodded calmly. He knew that now he had to remain calm, otherwise it would be extremely dangerous.

Su Yuanyuan communicated with the baby at the passage. Mother and child worked together.

The Zhao sisters were in the field picking cotton when they suddenly heard a goat’s call from the edge of the field.

Neither of them paid it any mind and continued picking.

”Eldest Sister, this is Yuanyuan’s goat, how did it come over here?”

Zhao Yanli watched as the goat charged towards Zhao Yanping, crying mournfully, and grabbed her clothes, pulling her outward.

The two froze, ”Is it calling me?”

The goat yanked Zhao Yanping’s clothes with all its might.

”Eldest Sister, something must have happened, look, the goat’s even crying.

Could it be that Yuanyuan is about to give birth?”

They dropped their cotton-picking baskets and ran out.

Zhao Yanping didn’t believe her sister at first. But seeing the goat truly crying, and its eyes pleading,

made her drop the cloth basket and run too.

The two sisters entered Su Yuanyuan’s house one after the other, seeing Haiyan eating dried fruit in the living room.

”Aunt, Mom, Aunt has had the baby brother.”

Now the sisters knew that Yuanyuan had already given birth.

Zhao Yanping wanted to go in, but Zhao Yanli held her back.

”Eldest Sister, let’s wash clean before going in.”

Zhao Yanping remembered, and hurried to wash clean with her sister.

At this moment, the couple inside were both drenched in sweat, Su Yuanyuan clutching the bedding, frightened by his wife’s painful expression, Tan Shaoting did not dare speak to disturb her.

He was also holding his fists tightly, heart full of prayers, hoping the child would hurry out.

Su Yuanyuan took a deep breath, communicated with the child, the two working hard once more.

The two sisters heard Su Yuanyuan’s scream, followed by the cries of the child.

And then they went in.

They saw Tan Shaoting holding the child.

”Xiao Li, test the water temperature, I’ll sterilize the scissors to cut the umbilical cord.”

The sisters cooperated, and the eldest’s newborn was managed well, wrapped in a blanket and placed aside.

”Xiao Tan, go get something for Yuanyuan to eat.”

At that point, Tan Shaoting, dazed, followed Zhao Yanping’s words and clumsily went out.

He took several deep breaths outside until he was a little calmer.

Remembering, he hurried into another room and returned with a cup of Spiritual Spring Water for his wife to drink.

Only then did Su Yuanyuan feel much better. She felt less pain, having been young and carrying multiple fetuses, her frame was not big, and her pelvis small, so childbirth was quite strenuous.

This was fortunate that she had powers, and the children could cooperate. Otherwise, it would have been dangerous.

”Yuanyuan, are you okay?”

”Yes, I’m alright, don’t worry. Was the umbilical cord cut?”

”Yes, it was cut, don’t worry, I know this, I’ve seen it, both my second sister-in-law and Xiao Jing had me cut it.” Zhao Yanping quickly reassured Su Yuanyuan, letting her rest assured.
