The Genius Evolution Store

*Thud!*

Everyone was shocked by Auric’s claim. They never thought there would be such a poison. If they swallowed that poison, it would basically be over for them.

Finding two evolution masters who could do elemental fusion? It was much harder than finding two Rank 6 humans who could do elemental fusion.

At the same time, they realized what Auric’s information meant. He was an evolution master, and he was also able to do an elemental fusion by himself.

Basically, he was the only one who could cure them.

The middle-aged man narrowed his eyes. ”Elemental fusion... Why does it sound like this poison is so convenient to you? You can poison other people and then provide them with a solution. They will end up owing you a favor.”

Supervisor Jacob, on the other hand, already knew about this poison. ”And now, you’re the one throwing such accusations. Ryan Hilbert, you’d better watch your tone. As he said, if he wanted this to happen, he could have let the poison spread!”

Supervisor Jacob didn’t take that accusation kindly. ”It’s your blunder, and you’re now trying to hide your embarrassment by accusing the one who helped you prevent your blunder from causing any damage to this event or to the relationship between countries?”

Ryan glared at Supervisor Jacob. ”If there’s such a poison, then I will need to take him in for interrogation.”

”You dare?!” Supervisor Jacob’s expression turned dark.

”Maybe I should have let them suffer first. Maybe after losing some of their top talent, they would understand the severity of the situation.” Auric sighed.

”You shut up for a second!” Supervisor Jacob waved his hand down.

However, Auric wasn’t wrong. If this poison ended up disabling Clarice, Nicholas, Antonio, or even Selena, all the countries would be in chaos.

”What is going on over here?” Suddenly, Vanessa’s voice echoed. Everyone turned their heads as they saw Vanessa enter the scene.

”This brat is accusing us of poisoning everyone here!” Ryan pointed at Auric.

Vanessa remained calm. As the one who had been appointed head organizer, she had to make sure that everyone was fine and that the relationship between countries didn’t turn sour.

That was why Vanessa looked at Supervisor Jacob, asking for his explanation too.

”There is a vicious poison that can lock people from evolving and even stop you from using your element entirely. It can affect everyone at Rank 3 or lower.”

Vanessa fell silent for a moment before she looked at Maya. Maya politely nodded to her, as she recognized her. Her grandfather had once introduced this person before.

Vanessa walked toward her. Maya stood in front of her for a few seconds. While she wasn’t afraid of fighting her, she had no choice but to show some respect and step aside. However, Maya remained at her side to make sure that she didn’t destroy the evidence.

”Hmm...” Vanessa looked at the food carefully. ”You said it’s something that will affect everyone at Rank 3 or lower?”

”Yes, that’s correct.” Supervisor Jacob nodded. ”It’s clearly targeting the students.”

”What happens if someone more powerful consumes this poison?”

”That’s...” Supervisor Jacob couldn’t help but glance at Auric.

”The poison will be overwhelmed by the elements in your system and expel them before they can even enter. However, if you lower your guard while consuming it, it might also affect you. It won’t be as lethal, but it might affect you for the rest of your life.”

”Ma’am!” Ryan didn’t expect Vanessa to actually listen to their bullshit.

Vanessa looked at Auric. She obviously recognized Auric, considering Auric was the only person who actually noticed her arrival among the students. She knew that his senses should be much better than any other students in this place. No, it might even surpass some instructors.

That was why she had no choice but to feel suspicious of the food. If there were truly a poison, it would become a blunder not only to her but also to Dermania.

Vanessa grabbed the fork on the side and took a bite personally. As soon as she chewed it, she instantly spat it out.

She paused for a few seconds before asking, ”Tell me about the poison, such as its form and other things.”

”Ma’am!” Ryan tried to stop her. She shouldn’t believe Auric’s nonsense.

The students couldn’t believe it either, but Vanessa’s action looked like there was indeed poison in the food.

”The poison is a liquid form. It’s not exactly colorless, but it’s definitely odorless and tasteless.

”The real threat is in the elements within the poison. Considering the potential of color, it can be disguised as juice or sauce.” Auric gave his hypothesis as well.

Vanessa thought for a moment. ”Why would you do this? As you said, you would be in such an advantageous position if you let this happen.”

”Kid...” Supervisor Jacob tried to warn him, but Auric simply said, ”Because it won’t be interesting anymore.”

”Interesting?”

”Yeah. It’s interesting to compete with others. As you said, competition promotes growth. If this training is canceled, it will just mean I’ve wasted my time here.”

The students were definitely surprised by Auric. He could have said it in a way that portrayed him like a hero, but Auric was true to his character.

Katarina just smiled in defeat. Auric didn’t need to portray himself as someone else because he already had everything. If his identity as Sunlight and Moonlight were discovered, he would have all the glory he needed.

Vanessa nodded. ”How do you know this food has poison in it?”

”Ma’am!” Ryan wanted to stop her, but Vanessa simply gave him a cold gaze, telling him to stop before she got angry.

Ryan gritted his teeth.

”I just have good sense.”

Vanessa didn’t doubt it. She just realized that his sense was actually much more powerful than she originally thought.

Vanessa turned to the others and politely lowered her head. ”In that case, I’d like to apologize to everyone here. The banquet is over. I’d like you to return to your room. For now, please avoid any food or drink that the hotel offers. We will be importing other food and drink tomorrow, or you can try securing your own food until this problem is resolved.”

”!!!” They were dumbfounded. Vanessa openly admitted that there was a problem. In other words, Auric had been telling the truth all this time.

Ryan couldn’t contain himself anymore. ”Ma’am! He’s very suspicious! Did he notice the poison? He might be the one who brings the poison himself! Besides, we should ask him why he rented rooms in hotels and motels, as well as warehouses, in the city. He’s clearly suspicious!”

All the countries had investigated Auric, but as one would expect from the host country, they actually got the report fast. They had an easier time monitoring Auric by requesting for security footage.

Auric was merely trying to prepare some safe zones, but Ryan spun it in a way that made it look like he was guilty.

”Why does it matter to you?” Supervisor Jacob raised his voice. ”Monitoring the students here to the point where you can even get all that data? I can’t help but suspect that you’re also putting cameras in our rooms, bathrooms perhaps.”

Supervisor Jacob’s words caused everyone to step back and look at Ryan in disgust.

If Auric was merely saying anything he wanted, Supervisor Jacob was accustomed to saying whatever he could to attack his opponent.

”There’s no such thing!”

”Well, we can’t be sure, especially when you even know all his records here.” Supervisor Jacob shook his head.

”Enough!” Vanessa cut them off. ”If there are cameras in your room, I will deal with him personally. Not only will he be stripped of his position, but I will even personally deliver his head to you!”

Supervisor Jacob raised his hands as though he was taking a step back if she really wanted to do that.

”So, return to your room right now. I’ll personally conduct the investigation.”

Supervisor Jacob glanced at Auric before nodding.

Auric finally stood up, releasing the staff. Maya also came to Auric and noticed the cameras were still rolling.

Since the other party had admitted there was poison, they couldn’t say there was no poison after checking. It was broadcast live, so people could see the evidence directly.

If they had destroyed the evidence, it would look even worse for Dermania.

So, Maya just had to make sure that she protected Auric.

Supervisor Jacob raised his hand. ”Okay, listen up, people from Esfrata. Return to your room for now. I’ll let you know the situation later.”

Maya turned to Katarina. ”Protect him. I will have to see this matter through directly.”

”Understood.” Katarina nodded with a serious expression. She came to Auric, while Ellia had already been standing with him all this time. Vera rushed to them, since she didn’t want to get left behind.

Since Supervisor Jacob had given them the instructions, the students from Esfrata stepped away one by one. Their instructors were helping them evacuate.

Auric was carefully observing everyone, but he couldn’t find anything suspicious. Even Madam Shelly was silent this time.

He felt like the situation was much more complicated than he originally thought.

’Wasn’t the organization supposed to avoid the international conflict? After all, the five countries might end up focusing their attacks on them. At that time, the organization wouldn’t have enough power to resist them.’ Auric was confused.

”That’s true. It’s really weird.” Lindwurm agreed with Auric’s opinion.

Meanwhile, the students from other countries had mixed feelings on Auric.

Some of them thought Auric was definitely a good person since he stopped all this, even though Auric stopped it because of his own interest.

At the same time, they couldn’t help but think that Auric was suspicious. How did he figure it out and even buy a lot of things as though he knew that something like this was going to happen?

Of course, there were students who looked at Auric because he was amusing.

’I see. It’s no wonder that he has become Esfrata’s ace even though he’s only a Rank 2 human.’ Selena crossed her arms as her lips curved. ”Interesting, very interesting. I really need to kidnap him right now.”

”Oi.”

”So, he’ll be our opponent this time. I wonder if he’s going to challenge me... Maybe I should just challenge him instead.” Alexander grinned, feeling excited.

Nicholas looked at Auric with a much darker expression. ”My sleep might get even shorter because of this. Please, God, have mercy on me.”

Gloria scratched the back of her head. ”Have I jinxed the entire situation? There’s no outside threat, but this time, we have an internal threat...”

Clarice just looked at Auric mysteriously, not uttering a single word.

”Hoho?” Theressa looked excited. ”I think I’ve found my moon.”

Antonio and Timothy looked at each other before taking another sip of their drink, acting as if they didn’t really care about the situation.

The situation became even more chaotic because many people watched the live broadcast.
