The Genius Evolution Store

Time passed quickly. Auric’s group continued their training according to the schedule without anyone leaving.

It looked like the students had improved a lot, considering some of them seemed to be able to sleep undetected when the raid happened.

Of course, Auric’s group remained to be the only group that the instructors had yet to find. No matter how hard they racked their brains, they simply couldn’t figure out where Auric was going.

Because Supervisor Jacob took his responsibility even more seriously, there was no supervisor trying to use a dirty trick like following them before the raid even began. This way, Auric’s secret remained safe. The fact that Auric could disappear like this meant that the enemies might not be able to find him either.

That was why the fewer people knew the trick, the safer Auric would be. It would be better if even he didn’t know how it worked.

”So, you’re finally here.” Supervisor Jacob smiled. ”I have been waiting for your group. Unlike the others, you are the only group that hasn’t gone to me.”

”We’d like to ask for your advice. Take a look at how we’ve improved, so we can stabilize our improvements.”

”Clever.” Supervisor Jacob nodded with a smile. ”That is fine by me. Since that is your goal, let’s do this a bit differently than the rest.”

Supervisor Jacob pointed to the back. ”There is a small space in that direction. All four of you will attack me as a team. Of course, I will only use my power up to Rank 4, but with my mastery, my combat power should be close to Rank 5.

”Your goal is to land five hits on me. Come with the intention to kill because you won’t be able to touch me even once if you aren’t that serious. I permit the use of everything, including dirty tricks. What do you think?”

Auric looked at the three girls, who nodded to each other. Therefore, Auric accepted the test. ”Understood. Please give us your guidance.”

”Let’s go.”

They moved into a small space in the corner of the university grounds.

”No one is watching, so you can use all your power.” Supervisor Jacob turned to Auric. ”Especially you. You can use your dark element. I won’t say anything.”

”What are you talking about? I don’t have a dark element.” Auric smiled. His stance remained the same. He didn’t have the dark element until he challenged Nicholas.

”Very well.” Supervisor Jacob nodded in understanding. ”However, let’s begin immediately. Other people won’t give you the opportunity to discuss strategy.”

Ellia and Vera immediately drew their blades, trying to stop Supervisor Jacob while Auric was working on his strategy.

After the hunting event, all the girls already knew that Auric was more than capable of coming up with a good strategy. All they needed to do was trust him.

That was why their roles became clear the moment Supervisor Jacob chose not to give them any time.

Katarina stood in front of Auric, making sure to control the flow of the battle so that Supervisor Jacob couldn’t take out Ellia and Vera easily.

Katarina’s expression turned grim as she carefully observed Supervisor Jacob’s movements.

Supervisor Jacob, on the other hand, smiled inwardly, thinking, ’They’re a very good team. They know their roles in an instant, but as expected, fighting against me without preparation makes them a bit tense. You won’t be able to move properly if you are tense...’

Supervisor Jacob thought about breaking apart their defense and taking out Auric immediately to show them what they were lacking.

However, Auric suddenly said one word with a much deeper and serious tone. ”Focus!”

”!!!” All three girls widened their eyes in shock. Ellia had heard this voice twice, while Vera and Katarina had heard it in the hunting event. Auric used this tone only once during those thirty days.

It was when they were attacked by the assassins.

In other words, Auric had truly become god-like again.

As soon as they heard that voice, Ellia and Vera became even more serious but relaxed as if they could react to everything that was about to come. Katarina summoned her bullets.

’Hmm?’ Supervisor Jacob was startled. ’What? Their atmosphere... changed. It was just from a single word from Auric Elfe?’

Supervisor Jacob didn’t understand what was going on. How in the world was Auric able to change their atmosphere? More importantly, he felt that he wouldn’t be able to find a gap even if he attacked now.

”Go!” Auric shouted.

Ellia and Vera leaped forward immediately.

”I think you’re misunderstanding something. Against me, the last thing you should do is attack me.” Supervisor Jacob smiled. With a wave of his hand, his ice element spread all over the area, covering Ellia and Vera in a thick layer of ice. Katarina was forced to stand in front of Auric, using her shield to block the ice.

However, Ellia and Vera were completely frozen.

With this, two attackers had been taken down.

Unfortunately for Supervisor Jacob, Ellia and Vera might be Rank 3 humans, but they were anything but ordinary.

The ice cracked and shattered in less than a second as they freed themselves from the ice. In addition, they continued to move forward as if nothing had happened to them.

’The girls were capable enough to maintain their stable form to the point where they could actually remain in that form even after being frozen?’ Supervisor Jacob was amused by their performances.

Supervisor Jacob raised his hand, forming a sword from ice. ’In that case, let’s check your swordsmanship.’

Supervisor Jacob swung his blade, but suddenly, bullets hit the blade from afar and shattered it.

”!!!” Supervisor Jacob glanced to the side, seeing his broken blade. There was no way he could stop them like this, so Ellia and Vera were ready to take him down immediately. It would be his own fault for underestimating them.

Unfortunately for the two girls, Supervisor Jacob swung his blade as if the bullets did nothing to it.

Clang!

Clang!

Their swords clashed.

”!!!” Ellia and Vera looked quite surprised when they saw another blade. It wasn’t made of ice. It was purely made of energy.

He extended his energy into a sword as an emergency measure. ”Well, you should have received this lesson from Greenfell. I think you’re the one underestimating me.”

Supervisor Jacob started swinging his sword, trying to overwhelm them.

However, if someone had to describe Ellia and Vera’s talents, swordsmanship would be the first thing that came to mind.

Both of them actually held their ground purely with their swordsmanship.

They exchanged slashes more than fifty times in ten seconds, but neither of them was backing down.

Eventually, an order came. ”GO!”

In that instant, their energy erupted.

Ellia swung her blade diagonally after lowering her body.

Supervisor Jacob positioned his blade to the right, stopping her swing. However, the sword strike flew forward, as Ellia used her space element to split that sword strike into fifteen slashes.

”Impressive, but...” Supervisor Jacob smiled. Smaller shields appeared out of nowhere, blocking the slashes with pinpoint accuracy.

There was a reason he had become the supervisor, even though he wasn’t the most senior.

It was the same reason why people were fighting for the chance to receive a lesson from him.

Supervisor Jacob was truly an all-rounder. He could use all sorts of advanced techniques. He could break the shields into smaller pieces to make them strong enough to receive many individual attacks... and this time, Supervisor Jacob overpowered Ellia and pushed her back before unleashing several slashes simultaneously.

It looked like Ellia’s attack, but each strike was connected to his sword since he didn’t have the space element to teleport them.

Still, for a normal student, it was more than enough to defeat them. Fortunately, Ellia was anything but normal. She cut down half of the strikes and dodged the others. She even went one step further by sending forth her own sword strike every time she slashed Supervisor Jacob’s attacks.

Supervisor Jacob abruptly stopped using his sword. Instead, he used his ice to freeze all the sword strikes.

After all, he sensed Vera coming from the opposite direction.

He used his sword to check Vera’s skill as well.

Vera took a deep breath. The energy around her sword had sharpened and become thinner, but it was far more menacing than the one she had a month ago.

Vera struck his sword and completed her swing, actually cutting through it. The wind element also flew forward.

Unfortunately for her, another shield appeared right underneath his arm, blocking the wind slash at the last moment.

Then Supervisor Jacob raised his hand and clenched it into a fist.

”!!!” Both Ellia and Vera were frozen again as the entire field turned into an ice field.

They managed to break free from the ice, but their bodies were shivering from the cold.

”I might get a cold after this...” Vera clicked her tongue.

”I know you’ve been preparing everything.” Supervisor Jacob glanced back because Katarina and Auric hadn’t done much until now.

”Edict!” Auric snapped his fingers.

”!!!” Supervisor Jacob looked around, noticing a word in all four directions.

North.

West.

East.

South.

Each word was hovering one meter above the ground. As soon as Auric snapped his fingers, they shone brightly and released their respective elements.

’North’ launched a lightning bolt, ’West’ released multiple roots, ’East’ unleashed a wind blast, and ’South’ shot a metal shard.

”Interesting, but don’t you think it’s too weak against me?!” Supervisor Jacob smiled. ”Then again, I should expect it since your elements are still Rank 2. At least, that’s what I know since I don’t know much about how your avatar works.”

Supervisor Jacob smiled as he didn’t even need to do anything.

After all, the moment those four attacks reached his ice field, they were frozen and fell to the ground.

But before he could say anything, Supervisor Jacob widened his eyes. Katarina’s bullets had actually arrived.

’Since when? No...’ Supervisor Jacob suddenly noticed that something was wrong. ’Those four words... why haven’t they disappeared? Shouldn’t they have disappeared after unleashing their attacks?’

All of a sudden, the four words disappeared, but it turned out that there were identical words behind those four words. In other words, the ones in front were just traps to make him think he had already eliminated Auric’s attack.

”Four-Direction Elemental Barrier!” Auric took a step to the side, revealing the words hidden behind him. He flicked those words, triggering the activation of the four words.

Each word created a barrier and turned it into a sphere. The barrier looked unusual. Normally, he could see through it by identifying which element it contained, but this barrier had a color he had never seen before.

’Fusing four elements at the same time?’ Supervisor Jacob was astonished. He knew how hard it was to fuse two elements, but Auric actually managed to fuse all four at once.

It created a barrier that was amplified by the characteristics of the four elements.

’But why a barrier?’ Supervisor Jacob didn’t understand what was going on. The barrier isolated him with the bullets.

He thought Auric just wanted to prevent him from escaping, as Katarina overwhelmed him with her bullets.

But to his surprise, the bullets curved around as if they were avoiding him.

He became even more shocked when the barriers actually bounced Katarina’s bullets.

”What?!” He couldn’t contain his shock.

This was the result of their training. Katarina manifested the bullets in their real form], making them hit like real metal. However, she actually controlled every single one of them and covered them with energy like using telekinesis, so the energy would hit Auric’s barrier like a spring for the bullets, causing the bullets to bounce back.

At the same time, Auric reinforced the barrier with the strength of his earth element, the spring of the wind element, the softness of the plant element, and the fierceness of the lightning element.

Yes, when they bounced back, the lightning actually covered Katarina’s bullets.

”Please try it, Supervisor.” Auric winked playfully. ”Our Pinball.”
