THE GOD EATER

According to the real estimate of 21 years in her heart, reality was 31,536,000 times faster. This only made the impact of the sudden loss much heavier than she was letting on.

”What are you doing there?” Tepid Scholar asked Loki in anger.

Sword Maestro also joined in, asking, ”Why are they dying so quickly?”

As if she had been enlightened, Heavenly Eye said, ”So that’s it. That’s your goal all along.”

”You don’t have any divine beings, so you want to get rid of all of our divine beings. That way, we will be on the same level.”

”But they were scattered throughout the Sea of Worlds, and you couldn’t find them on your own. So you made us bring them to you for a meeting.”

”We thought you were giving us a chance; you made us lend them to you for a hundred years, but you didn’t have any intention of letting them go. You acted as if you needed them to invade worlds, but you took them to a battlefield where you knew they would surely die.”

”So no matter what, we will lose those divine beings. Either they die at Gemini’s hands, or they die at your hands. How insidious.”

”How utterly insidious,” Heavenly Eye said again, angry.

”Is that true?” Tepid Scholar asked Loki.

He wanted to shake Loki up and beat him. But he couldn’t do that. He could only settle for an angry, stern voice.

In response, Loki said, ”She’s talking through her ass. I don’t know what she is talking about. I made that deal in good faith.”

”Who are you going to believe? The guy who has never lied to you or the lady who is known for always lying?” he asked, looking hurt and maligned.

But his attempt to defend himself was met with more angry responses. It didn’t matter what they believed. What mattered was that their disciples were dying because of him, so they could only be angry at him.

Then again, their anger didn’t matter to Loki. He knew they would get angry, but he carried out his plans anyway.

In fact, their roars and displays of anger brought him joy. They were like music to his ears.

Seeing them get angry at Loki, Black Chain took the opportunity to chime in, saying with a chuckle, ”I hope it was worth it to get him on our side for the ascension of the Blessed Heaven World.”

”The price you paid was 147 divine beings. That’s a lot, and I hope for our sake that it would be worth it because if it isn’t, not only would the Blessed Heaven World fail to ascend, but you also would have lost 147 divine beings for nothing. There are no other options.”

”Fuck you,” Heavenly Eye said to him.

In response, Black Chain started laughing, ”Ahahaha!”

He was more honest than Loki and was openly enjoying himself. Loki was pretending that none of this was his plan, so he couldn’t openly laugh at their misery. Clearly, Black Chain didn’t have such qualms.

However, Black Chain couldn’t continue to laugh when the Nature God sent a message to him, saying, ”What is this I heard about you not having any divine beings?”

”That’s a lie,” Black Chain said, denying the allegations. ”Where did you hear such a lie?”

The Nature God replied, saying, ”From Ragnarok. He is boasting in the upper realm now that he has the strongest army of divine beings that can help invade worlds.”

”He even claimed that the weakest divine beings in his army are Rank 8. He swore an oath about it, so I don’t think he is lying.”

”He also mentioned you directly. He said when the divine beings of six Dao Lords met, you and Harem King couldn’t produce a single Rank 8 divine being.”

”Well, he is lying about me,” Black Chain insisted.

”If he is lying, I want to see the army you’ve prepared for me directly. If I don’t see an army of divine beings, I will terminate our cooperation. You can forget about getting any Supreme Metac from me,” the Nature God threatened seriously.

”Is that so? Then fuck you,” Black Chain said in anger. ”I am sure that I can get someone better and richer to work with.”

”No, fuck you,” the Nature God retorted. ”I can’t believe that I once thought you were worth something.”

”I thought that you must have some tricks up your sleeve for being the strongest Dao Lord in the past. Clearly, I was wrong.”

”You’re trash. You’re worthless,” the Nature God screamed at him before cutting off the communication.

In the divine constellation, Black Chain had stopped laughing. He was now glaring at Ragnarok in anger.

He was a part of the crowd of Dao Lords that had a problem with Loki. This crowd is comprised of every Dao Lord in the divine constellation. He didn’t kill any of Harem King’s divine beings, but she still hated him.

Loki, unjustly hated, was getting into more trouble. In the blue World Pump, every Rank 8 cultivator was now done advancing.

Those who succeeded were now Rank 9 Dao Initiates. Those who failed were dead.

Of the 21 Rank 8 cultivators who had met the requirements to advance, such as the pseudo-supreme mastery of their pathway, 3 failed despite Loki’s best efforts.

The Supreme Metacs of these three were too poor by every metric. Even with Loki’s help, they couldn’t make a Minor Supreme Metac.

11 of the 21 would have died if not for Loki’s help and guidance during the process. But the best that they could produce were Minor Daos like the Elf Race, Ray Race, Ogre Race, and Ork Race, Army General, Insect Tamer, Tracker, Farmer, and Soothsayer Dao.

The remaining 7 didn’t need his guidance and could have made a Supreme Metac on their own. But thanks to his instructions throughout the process, they upgraded their Supreme Metacs to Major Daos and Grand Daos.
