THE GOD EATER

This inability to use as many Supreme Metacs as he can directly with the spark of power, as he used to be able to do, is a loss, but it is not one he is averse to since he made the conscious decision to sacrifice all of his Supreme Metacs to the 4-D prototype right from the start.

In fact, he liked the situation this way because it would rob Astra of tools that the 4-dimensional being could use to beat him up in their next fight. With this arrangement, Astra will be forced to use the Entropy 4-D prototype when they fight or be limited to Fenrir.

Of course, he can always destroy the 4-D Entropy, give up on all of the divinity from it, and give up on the Entropy Divine Ability. He can always return to using three-dimensional structures in the spark of power, but they won’t have growth potential like the 4-D Entropy.

With the ability of the spark of power, he will be able to use any Supreme Metac. But only one can be used to transform divine crystal into divinity. Since three-dimensional Supreme Metacs have a limited size, the amount of divinity he can get from them will be capped at 27 units.

Even if Astra was not a factor, the decision would be between the quantity of Supreme Metacs and the quality of a single Supreme Metac. On one side is versatility with many 3-D Supreme Metacs or the potency of one 4-D prototype.

After thinking about his options, he chose the 4-D prototype. This was both to deal with Astra, because the 4-D prototype is more powerful, and because the 4-D prototype has a higher growth rate.

’Not to mention that I can’t go about using different kinds of Supreme Metacs in this place when I should only have one pathway,’ he thought with a chuckle as he began the next part.

’In the end, it is better to have one 4-D prototype that I can use than to have many 3-D Supreme Metacs that I can’t use. Especially since that 4-D prototype is capable of giving me a hidden boost of 459 units of divinity at this moment.’

The next step of the plan was to switch to the Tracking Mark Ability and try using it to create any Supreme Metac from the Cosmic Dao down to the ranks of Minor Daos.

After doing that, he would use the Hunting Form Metac to make another attempt from Cosmic Dao to Minor Dao. But he was greedy, so he decided to change the plan a little bit.

Since the rules he used to build the Knowledge Supreme Metac were good enough to become a Cosmic Dao, he decided to use the same rules to make a Grand Dao. If that worked, then he would use the same set of rules to make a Major Dao all the way to a Minor Dao.

He had this idea when he remembered how Heavenly Eye’s Pathways were related to each other. Her Truth Pathway was a Grand Dao, but it was related to the Seer Pathway, which is a Major Dao. And her Illusion Pathway was a Grand Dao related to the Deceiver Pathway.

After he remembered this fact, he felt like she had reused the rules of the Truth Pathway to make the Seer Pathway and reused the rules of the Illusion Pathway to make the Grand Dao. Knowing that Heavenly Eye was a liar and a cheater, he was confident in the validity of his suspicion.

Chuckling as he worked, he said, ”However, Heavenly Eye isn’t the only one to blame for this. Black Chain also did the same thing.”

He felt that Black Chain’s Curse Pathway and Death Pathway were related. One was a Cosmic Dao that could do a lot of things, including cursing people to death, and the other one was a Grand Dao that could curse people with bad luck, disease, and various manners of curses.

He wasn’t sure whether Black Chain had reused the rules within the Death Pathway to make the Curse Pathway. But if someone were to tell him that the two pathways were not related in any way, he definitely wouldn’t believe it.

”Maybe this is why they hid those pathways. It is so that no one else would realize that reusing rules was possible.”

”Then again, maybe it is too soon to cast judgement. Maybe I’m wrong about the feasibility of reusing rules. I should wait until I succeed before I start pointing fingers.”

Even if it wouldn’t work, he was willing to do it just to satisfy his curiosity. As he was, he didn’t think any amount of failure could deter him from making more attempts.

In fact, the fact that he made a Cosmic Dao without many expectations has only bolstered his confidence and greed. He wanted to dig up every avenue he could with any possibility of making Supreme Metacs.

Like a child who heard that there might be sweets hiding underneath a rock, he set about lifting up the rock that was the Grand Dao using the Power Identification Ability as a lever and a particular set of impeccable rules as the effort to see if there were any sweets hiding beneath the rock.

As it turned out, there was indeed something useful beneath this rock. When the 15th commonality of the incomplete Supreme Metac was put in place, it didn’t collapse. Instead, it shimmered and became a golden eyeball.

At first, Loki’s face lit up in excitement. But then his joy withered away, and his face fell with disappointment as he recognized this Supreme Metac.

He remembered that he had already acquired this Supreme Metac from one of Heavenly Eye’s avatars. This meant that the Truth Supreme Metac was useless to him.

”It is not so bad,” he said as he enveloped the floating eyeball with a black force field. ”At least, it proves that my theory is correct.”
