THE GOD EATER

Another one grumbled, saying, ”There isn’t any elemental energy either. So we have to rely on ourselves for power. We can’t use external elemental energy to amplify our abilities.”

Because they were communicating mentally, the whole place was silent on a physical level. Only the mental waves in the area were full of activity, so someone who could perceive mental fluctuations would find the area very loud.

While they were murmuring among themselves, the ten thousand of them were also arranging themselves into a formation. By the time they were finished, a square formation that was a hundred entities long had formed.

Once the formation was formed, the two humanoid bovine people atop the spherical ship flew down to hover above the formation.

The black one shouted sternly, ”Silence!”

The shout was also mental, so anyone who needed sound waves to hear it would think they had said nothing. But psychically activated entities would be able to hear the shout, and most entities that heard the shout would go silent.

The stern shout immediately put an end to every discussion in the area. The shout also attracted the attention of all ten thousand towards the white and black bovine duo.

Then the white humanoid bull of the pair took advantage of the silence and their attentiveness to say, ”I know many of you have thoughts about this place. But as bad as it may look, the situation is not entirely bad for you.

”It is true that there is no natural energy. But at your stage, you don’t need it to live.”

The black one added, saying, ”Not only that, but because of the lack of natural energy, whoever attacks you can only use their lifespan. So they have to think twice about attacking you now.”

”They have to consider the gains and losses before they attack. Because of this, your survival rate will increase. That’s a good thing.”

”It is also true that there is no elemental energy. But I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing,” the white humanoid bull chuckled and said.

”Without elemental energy, most of one’s power must come from the individual. Someone who is better than you at wielding external energy won’t be able to bully you with that skill. Everyone will have to fight with their Divine Ability and Divinity. That can’t be all bad.”

The black one also said, ”Lastly, all of these problems that you see around you were caused by the absence of a Domain King. You know what this means, don’t you?”

”It means that one of you has the opportunity to become a Domain King,” the white one said, answering the question for them.

”This is a great opportunity that I didn’t get to have. I know that you don’t know what’s so great about becoming the Domain King just yet, but listen to me when I say that if you miss out on this opportunity, you will regret it forever.”

”So your situation is far from being hopeless. Not only is it not hopeless, but it is also full of great benefits.”

By now, the ten thousand entities below had become rowdy again. They were excited about what they had just heard and were talking about it.

The noise they were making made the black one shout sternly again, ”I said silence.”

After everyone went silent, he said solemnly, ”Anyone who speaks without permission again would be punished.”

The pressure of his existence pressed down on them, making all of them freeze in place. This made them feel just how serious he was being.

He let his warning and the threat of pressure hang over them for a while before he said, ”Now for the training protocol. The first thing you will do is loot this world.”

”For the sake of training, you will be cut off from your resources. You will have to source all of your needs from this world. This includes looting for the things you need or selling the materials you find from looting to us in exchange for what you need.”

When the ten thousand juniors heard this, their eyes widened in surprise. Many of them wanted to complain about how the entire place was barren and how they would die without support, but they saw the stern eyes of the black bull man and remembered his warning, so they kept their mouths shut.

The black bull man knew what they were worried about, so he said, ”That’s how the real world works. There are finite resources in the world, and you’re supposed to fight each other for the resources.”

”You’re not entitled to support, and no one has the obligation to give you resources free of charge. From now on, if you need something, you must work and fight for it.”

With a shake of his head, the white bull man said, ”I am sure that this protocol will cause the death of many of you. But that is a loss we are willing to allow in exchange for weeding out the weak among you.”

”Only when you’ve proven yourself will you be capable of killing your parents without any help and becoming an adult Gemini like us. You don’t understand now, but you’ll understand later.”

”In light of methods of foraging for food, I recommend that you set up lifespan extraction channels as soon as possible,” the black bull man said solemnly.

”You will be fighting with your lifespan, so you need a steady supply of lifespan if you don’t want to die. In this place, they extract lifespan using Sects. You should try doing so as soon as possible.”

”Aside from the initial package of resources that all of you will be given, you will be on your own, living off of the world. The alternative is to perform well in your struggles with each other.”

”A leaderboard will be set up soon enough to keep track of your performance and highlight those performing well. The better you perform every month, the higher you’ll be on the leaderboard and the more rewards you will receive.”
