THE GOD EATER

”The second thing you have to do is to plant worlds in the first dimension of the lower realm, ” the white one called out.

”You will be given three world seeds and some energy crystals to help them grow. You need to help this world become super worlds and ascend to become Divine Mountain as soon as possible.”

The black one took over at this point to say, ”The third thing you have to take note of is that fighting is prohibited here in the higher realm for the first year. But fighting and killing each other is encouraged in the first dimension.”

”In fact, fighting each other in the lower realm is encouraged. You are allowed to steal worlds from each other. Your performance will be logged, and the better you perform, the higher you’ll be on the leaderboard, so the more your monthly reward will be.”

”After the first year, most of you should have established your Divine Mountains. At that point, it will be a free-for-all in the upper realm.”

The white bull man looked at everyone below with intense scrutiny, and when he saw that they were all listening attentively, he nodded in satisfaction before saying, ”That is mostly everything we have for you. But there is a last warning based on the condition of the Domain.

”I am sure that having spent a hundred years in the education camp, you have learned to believe that the Gemini race is one of the most powerful races in the universe. If you think so, you will be both wrong and right.”

”You will be right to think that the Gemini race is the best if you base this on the collective strength of the race. If you base the superiority of our race on the strength of an individual member of our race, especially yours, then you would be wrong to think you’re superior because there is very little to be superior about.”

The words he spoke were akin to blasphemy to their ears, but he still continued to say, ”We are celestials, so race doesn’t really matter much. Only the Dao, Divinity, and Divine Abilities matter.”

”For now, you have no racial advantage. You won’t gain a racial advantage until you become a complete Gemini. Even then, the main reason the Gemini race is so strong is because of our God King.”

”Without the power of our God King, we as a race would be nothing significant in the grand scheme of the universe. So if you want to prove the superiority of our race, become a God King.”

The black bull man picked up from where he left off to say, ”Because of this, I want to warn you not to look down on the indigenes of this Domain. You need to be cautious about them because they have been established in this world longer than you and because they are good at fighting with their lifespan.”

”In their divine transformation stage from rank 6 to rank 9, they have been burning their lifespan for power. They are good at it and have established methods to extract lifespan from other lifeforms.”

”As you know, lifespan is the most powerful kind of energy that celestials can use. Being good at using it to fight makes them the most dangerous kind of enemy that you can afford.”

”So unless you have the advantage in rank, don’t fight them. And when you do fight, don’t underestimate them. Be prepared to fight to the death because that’s what it means to fight with your lifespan.”

He repeated this warning again and again to let it sink into their minds. Only when he was sure that the point had been hammered home did he say, ”That is all. Take your packages and leave.”

Since they were given permission to leave, the younglings began to talk again. Most of what they were saying was complaints about their training arrangements, but no one complained directly to the duo in the sky.

The ten thousand of them went to line up to collect their packages. Their complaints only seemed to increase when they saw what they were given.

”How can we live like this?”

”What sort of hell are we living in?”

”Just kill me already.”

Having been pampered all of their lives, this turn of events was jarring to them, to say the least. Perhaps because of their agitation, they didn’t care for the recording device that kept replaying a summary of the speech that just took place.

The recording said, ”In summary, you’re now on your own, so you need to gain resources from the world. You also need to establish your Divine Mountains in one year. And no fighting is allowed in the upper realm for one year.”

When one of the younglings heard this, she grumbled, saying, ”I wanted food, not this.”

”Apparently, food for eating has become a luxury. What do I look forward to now if there is nothing to eat? Is life worth living without food?”

While the younglings were sorting themselves out and complaining about it, the two in the sky were watching them with part amusement and part frustration.

Shaking his head, the black bull man said, ”They don’t know that some people haven’t eaten in thousands of years. These kids are too soft.”

He was disappointed, but his counterpart, the white bull man, was amused and was chuckling as they said, ”We were not as bad as they were, I’m sure. But I’m also sure that we were pampered brats in our way.”

Just like that, the invaders began to make their moves. One ship brought ten thousand Dao Lords and flooded the Sea of Worlds with them. Another ship was responsible for increasing the value of the Sea of Worlds, and they did so by seeding the world with lytons.

The lytons were introduced as white eggs. The eggs were as small as dust, but they were resilient enough to survive the extremities of space.
