THE GOD EATER

To be fair, being able to see the golden mountain from anywhere in the Sea of Worlds wasn’t some special power. Every being in the Sea of Worlds could see the golden mountain. They only needed to look up at the sky.

Of course, what everyone saw was slightly different. Mortals could only see a faint golden image far up in the sky. Divine beings could see the golden mountain, but not who was in it, and they couldn’t reach it.

Only Dao Lords could see exactly who was standing on the mountain and could definitely reach the golden mountain with a little effort. So Loki had definitely become the center of attraction at the moment.

No matter what they thought about him, many Dao Lords definitely wanted to meet him and have a chat with him. But before they could make a move, something else happened that briefly distracted them.

A white phantom sphere appeared in the sky above the third heaven. It was a crystal sphere with 999 faces. Right now, one of the faces had solidified.

This sphere was weird in that it appeared directly above everyone in the third heaven. No matter where everyone was in the third heaven, the sphere always looked like it was right above whoever was looking at it.

So the white sphere was close to everyone in the third heaven. Unfortunately, it was a phantom that no one could reach.

No matter how anyone tried to get close to the sphere, it would appear directly above them at the same distance. The distance couldn’t be shortened no matter how fast they moved.

However, the distance between the sphere and everyone was not the same. The distance was the same for everyone else. But the distance between Loki and the sphere was shorter. This could be because he was standing on top of a mountain, but it could also be for a number of reasons.

There was another weird thing about the sphere, though. It was that everyone who looked at it could tell what it was and how to reach it.

Apparently, the white phantom sphere was the crown of this domain. It was actually a representation of the Sea of Worlds, and it looked exactly like the third heaven, a white sphere surrounding the Sea of Worlds.

The Dao Lords who laid eyes on it knew immediately that whoever could reach this white sphere would be able to gain control of the Sea of Worlds. And the way to reach it was to become the Domain King.

Another piece of information they could tell was that the third heaven could only accommodate 999 Divine Mountains, and right now, one of the slots had been filled, leaving 998 slots for the rest of the world to share.

Each piece of information was a bombshell on its own. Together, the tide of information exploded the minds of everyone who was ignorant of the affairs of the Domain King, turning their eyes red with greed.

After digesting this information, they all turned their eyes to the direction of the only Divine Mountain so far. Then they took off in that direction.

From where Loki stood, he saw many Dao Lords running across the surface of the white third heaven, coming towards him. What he noticed about them was that all of them were black from head to toe.

He had seen this level of blackness before, and it brought bad memories to mind when he recollected the experience. So seeing a tide of black entities rushing towards him gave him an unsettling feeling.

He frowned and said, ”These should be more offspring of the Gemini race. When did they arrive, though?”

”Did they come with the ships earlier, or have they always been around but I didn’t notice? Who knows with the Gemini Race? Anything is possible with them.”

As he watched, he saw that whenever the black Dao Lords reached the edge of a piece of white ground, they would leap without delay. And when the gap was too far, they would jump anyway and wade through the gap to the next landmass. So it was clear to him that they were in a rush.

If he were seeing this without having received the information from the sphere in the sky, he would say, ”What’s the rush?”

But having been informed by the white sphere of the circumstances, he could only say, ”I can’t blame them. I would be rushing too, if I were in their shoes.”

”Enough sympathizing,” he said solemnly. ”What do I do, though?”

He tried to lift the golden mountain and take it with him, but the thing refused to budge. It was stuck well in the ground and had no intention of moving any time soon.

Therefore, he had two options. The first was to stand his ground and fight. The second option was to pick a direction and run.

Even if he was strong enough to fight off everyone, he didn’t want to expose that kind of strength in front of everyone like this. So he picked a direction and took off.

Once he left the golden mountain, his figure immediately disappeared from the sight of every Dao Lord, making it more difficult to find him. However, no one gave up because of this.

Aside from looking for him, many of them also came for the golden mountain. Since the golden mountain was still there, they felt like they didn’t need Loki.

When the first batch arrived at the scene, they found a golden mountain with nine phantom figures at the top. One of the phantom figures was at the top of the mountain, while the other nine phantoms were at the base, looking up at the mountain.

The phantom at the top of the mountain was a white humanoid wolf with white fur and a black python tail. This phantom figure looked exactly like the figure they had just seen on the mountain, so everyone recognized it at a glance.
