THE GOD EATER

After insulting him, the cyclops said, ”I, Astra of stars, have come to prove myself for the spark of power. I am willing to sacrifice all of my power and existence to prove that I am worthy. Take my origin and see that it is worthy.”

As it spoke, its body began to crack. White and blue specs of starlight flew out of the cracks in its body and formed a long river of starlight that surged towards the white crystal ball.

Loki couldn’t move, but he didn’t intend to sit back and watch. He activated the Blade of Time to attack the starlight while he activated every defensive Divine Metac to protect himself.

He used both the Untouchable Divine Metac of the Domination Pathway and the five Divine Metacs of the Freedom Metac to defend himself. So seven Divine Metacs were activated all at once

It was difficult to activate all of these Divine Metacs at once because the Danger Metac was still blaring a warning in his mind and interfering with his focus. So he deactivated the Danger Sense Metac so that he could concentrate.

Meanwhile, the effect of the Blade of Time Metac was less than ideal because there were no law fragments in this void, so there was no amplification from his Authority, and he couldn’t mobilize the power of his Domain here.

Because of this, his power output was much weaker than what he could produce in the external world. In fact, his power output was over a hundred billion times weaker. So Loki wasn’t surprised when the river of starlight was unaffected by the power of the Blade of Time.

In fact, the river of starlight ignored the invisible power of time completely. Despite occupying the space, the river of starlight behaved as if the power of the Blade of Time wasn’t there.

There was no contact between them whatsoever. The starlight continued to surge towards him.

When he saw that the Blade of Time didn’t work, he switched tactics and used the Time Stasis Metac. Unfortunately, this didn’t work either.

So he used the Devouring Ability. After that, he used the Death Proclamation Divine Metac.

Unfortunately for him, none of this worked. None of his defenses worked either. The river of starlight passed through everything he could throw at it and made contact with the white crystal.

This time, the white crystal didn’t stop the river of starlight. The starlight was able to merge with the spark of power, linking the cyclops to it.

Loki’s face fell when he saw this, while the cyclops became elated. He said, ”It seems this can’t be stopped.”

A voice sounded within the white crystal saying, ”Of course not.”

”Now that I’ve offered my origin, no one can stop it. Not even I, so you’re doomed to fail.”

These words took him by surprise because he had understood exactly what the voice said without any need for translation and because the voice had come from within the spark of power, not from the cyclops outside of it.

When he looked over to the source of the voice, he saw that it was a dragon. It was a golden dragon that looked exactly like him. This gave him a sense of deja vu that he didn’t appreciate at all.

While he was staring at the newcomer, the dragon was moving its body around and examining it. As it examined its new body, it said, ”Your existence is pitiful and crippled. How can anyone live like this?”

Shaking its head in pity, it said, ”This is so sad. I guess I have to kill you now to relieve you of your pain.”

Loki, ignoring the insults, asked in a grave tone, ”Who are you?”

”Can’t you tell?” the dragon asked in return. ”I am you.”

When it saw the confusion on Loki’s face, it burst out laughing. ”Hahaha! You look like an idiot.”

As it laughed, it said, ”I am not you. Not yet. But I will become you when I kill you.”

Loki’s confusion disappeared when he heard this. His confusion was quickly replaced by determination and killing intent as he said, ”What will happen if I kill you?”

His question elicited another round of laughter from the other dragon as it said, ”You? Kill me?”

It shook its head and said, ”I guess you must think you’re something special because the spark of power chose you. But I maintain that the spark of power was wrong.”

”The spark of power is a dead object. It doesn’t have wisdom. It makes decisions based on determined rules, so it failed to understand my talent and instead chose a mongrel like you.”

It pointed at Loki as it said, ”You’re nothing special, and I’ll prove it. I’ll prove that I alone am worthy of the spark of power.”

As it spoke, it rushed at Loki. It also activated the Extreme Speed Metac of Speed Pathway. This caused its figure to blur into afterimages.

The afterimages actually began to divide and separate from the dragon. They surged in different directions, all angling towards him and circling him and moving at incredible speed.

Because of this, one enemy soon became an army of enemies, and he couldn’t tell if all of them were real or if one of them was real. It didn’t help his confusion when the afterimages began to change into the shapes of various animals.

In one of the hands of the afterimages, they held an invisible blade. Loki was familiar with that invisible blade, but his eyes shrank when the invisible blade became red.

Then the blade gained streaks of black that made it completely unrecognizable. As if that wasn’t enough, the black blade became bigger.

Now the single enemy had become an army of enemies that looked like mirages, wielding a red blade and all coming for his life. If he didn’t have the Power Identification Ability, he wouldn’t be able to understand what was going on at all.
