THE GOD EATER

For the duration of the three weeks of searching, they had been afraid of Money Body. That fear had dulled in sharpness over time because of their familiarity with Money Body. But now, they have gained another source of fear, so their fear spiked again.

In fact, this latest source of fear is greater than fear of Money Body. Actually, they are more afraid of the dragon now than they have ever been of Money Body. So not only did their fear spike, but it also reached a height it had never reached.

Meanwhile, Money Body was still trying to make sense of the news he just heard. He shook his head and said, ”It can’t be the dragon, right? Those two are too strong to be killed by some random dragon.”

Inwardly, he thought, ’I know them. Dragon Strength and Dragon Master are among the strongest rank 8 cultivators in the Blessed Heaven World.”

”In fact, Dragon Strength is probably the strongest one. How can he die without being able to get a word out about danger or call for help?”

”He couldn’t escape, and he didn’t call for help. Who has the power to kill not only him, but also Dragon Master, like that?”

As soon as he asked himself that question, an answer came unbidden to his mind that made his golden glittering face full of precious treasures go pale with fear.

Without thinking further about the matter, he said to his four servants, ”Let’s go.”

He didn’t wait for their response after he said this. As soon as he finished speaking, he jumped down from the second heaven into the second dimension.

Then he entered the third dimension without bothering about the people he left behind. From there, he rushed out of the Blessed Heaven World.

He was running away as if he owed someone money and didn’t want to pay. As someone highly experienced with running away from lenders and chasing debtors, he had mastered the art of running away.

If asked, he would say, ”The most important thing about escaping danger is not to outrun the danger, but to outrun the other people running away from the danger with you.”

This is the most important reason why he didn’t urge the four servants to escape. Not only did he not care about their lives, but he also wanted to use them as expendable resources to distract the dragon while he escaped.

Behind him, the four of them shared a look of shock and fear. Their fear was already at an all-time high, but seeing Money Body run so fast seemed to drive the seriousness of the danger they were in into their minds like a nail.

As their fear gained another motivation to keep rising, they lost all sense of reason and focused on only one thing. Everything they knew and thought disappeared only to be replaced with the single-minded focus to escape at all costs.

The four of them didn’t discuss how they would escape or where they should go that would be safe. Each of them ignored the others, picked a direction, and ran for their dear life.

If running was a sport, which it was, no mortal would be able to compete with these four in speed. But among the four of them, some were slower than the others.

As it turned out, Forced Exchange was the slowest one. Even if he wanted to use his Divine Metac and was willing to spend the divine merit points needed to do so, he couldn’t increase his speed that way.

He was so slow that if something was chasing them right now, he would definitely be caught first and quickly too. His saving grace was that nothing was chasing them.

Loki was currently too busy to chase them. And even if he had some free time on his hands, he wouldn’t bother with them.

Right now, he was busy digesting the information within the two Supreme Metacs that he just acquired. As the information about the laws contained within the Supreme Metacs fused with his consciousness, his mastery of the two Supreme Metacs rose to greater heights.

When he was done assimilating the two Supreme Metacs, he said, ”I thank Dragon Strength for his contribution of the Dragon Race Supreme Metac. It is only a Minor Dao, but I thank him nonetheless.”

”I also thank Dragon Master for his provision of the Soul Eater Supreme Metac. It is a Major Dao, which is less powerful than his original pathway, but it is still useful.”

These two rank 8 cultivators had been lucky enough to encounter him in the second heaven. That’s not how only he feels about the whole experience. Dragon Master and Dragon Strength had also said they were lucky to meet him.

”At least, that’s what they said. Who knows if they were pretending to only make me feel good?”

Then he waved his hand in dismissal and said, ”It doesn’t matter anymore anyway. They are dead now, so I’ll just take their words for it that they were lucky to meet me.”

”As for me, I feel deeply lucky to have encountered the two of them. Here I thought I would only have the pleasure of meeting Dragon Master. But fate looked at me and shone in me.”

Apparently, Monarch Dragon Strength was also in the second heaven. Because Loki was running away from the people he didn’t need and didn’t go to the places he went to in the previous timelines, he was able to encounter this rank 8 cultivator of the Strength Pathway.

Then he helped both Monarch Dragon Strength and Dragon Master to create their Supreme Metacs. Of the two, Monarch Dragon Strength didn’t need any instructions and was able to produce the Dragon Race Supreme Metac all on his own. But Monarch Dragon Master was not so lucky.

Not only did Monarch Dragon Master need his help for every step of the process, but the rank 8 enslavement cultivator also failed at the second-to-last step of outlining the rules of the Supreme Metac.
