THE GOD EATER

Then Forced Exchange looked around warily before saying to her through the divine constellation, ”And about the dragon leaving you in the dust easily, are you sure that’s what happened? Are you sure you didn’t give up on the chase so as to conserve your divine merit points?”

Even though he was communicating with her through the divine constellation, so what they were talking about should be a secret, he still whispered to her as he said, ”Tell me the truth. I would understand if you let the dragon go because you didn’t want to exhaust your divine merit points.”

”Shut up,” Money Speed said in anger. ”I didn’t let the dragon escape. It outran me.”

Forced Exchange still didn’t believe her, so he smiled and said meaningfully to her, ”If you say so.”

She ignored his hidden meaning and said, ”If the dragon possessed two or more Divine Metacs, isn’t that conclusive proof that it can’t be rank 6?”

”Or have you forgotten that world kings can only have one rank 6 World Authority at rank ?. Rank 7 world kings can have two rank 7 World Authorities, and rank 8 world kings can have three rank 8 Authorities.”

This question stumped Forced Exchange a bit. In his attempt to find a reasonable explanation, he said, ”Are dragons world kings? I thought they were cultivators like us.”

Money Speed, snorting in disdain, said in reply, ”Of course they are world kings. To be cultivators like us, they will need to have a Dao Lord. Have you ever heard of a dragon Dao Lord?”

”Hmmmm,” Forced Exchange said in reply.

Then he became silent as he tried to rack his brain for another explanation.

When he couldn’t come up with an alternative, he said, ”You may have a point. Maybe this dragon is really rank 7.”

But then he said, ”Of course, this is predicated on the supposed truth that the dragon was able to outrun you easily. If by chance that foundation is not true, then this whole theory will fall apart.”

”Fuck you,” Money Speed said in anger. ”I said I didn’t lie about it.”

”But even if I lied, which I didn’t, it will save your ass because I don’t think you can handle that dragon even if the dragon was actually at rank 6.”

Before Forced Exchange could offer a retort, she said, ”What’s the name of the dragon’s World Authority? How will you seize its World Authority if you don’t know its name?”

Forced Exchange replied, ”It is easy. I don’t need to use my Divine Metac to take its World Authority before I can defeat it. I can just beat it up with my bare hands.”

This reply made Money Speed burst out laughing, ”Hahaha!”

”What’s so funny?” Forced Exchange asked in annoyance.

Without care for his ego, she said, ”I’m picturing how the dragon will beat you and kill you if it decides to fight.”

”I mean, many rank 6 cultivators with Divine Metacs that they can use without any special conditions have fought the dragon and have died. But you, with a handicap, believe that you can defeat the dragon without using your Divine Metac at all. How is that not hilarious?”

Hearing this taunt, Forced Exchange didn’t refute her. Instead, the expression on his face became one of bitterness as he said, ”Anyway, I don’t have a choice in the matter. I was nearby, so Money Body said I must come and find the dragon. Therefore, I must come and find the dragon.”

When she heard this, her laughing ceased abruptly. Like Forced Exchange, she became solemn.

She was no longer in the mood to laugh. Something about what Forced Exchange said drained all the joy and happiness out of her.

Sighing in resignation, she said, ”Let’s go and catch us a dragon.”

In response, Forced Exchange nodded and said, ”Let’s go.”

The two of them became silent after that. They didn’t say anything and only moved forward. They walked as if they were pigs being sent to the slaughter.

Their hesitation was clear on their face. But because of their circumstances, they didn’t stop their hunt for the dragon.

When one of them finally spoke, it was Money Speed, and she said, ”I hope I am wrong about the dragon. I hope it just belongs to a world with a size bigger than our Cave Heaven.”

Forced Exchange nodded in agreement and said, ”I hope we don’t find the dragon at all.”

They wanted to leave the second heaven, but they couldn’t leave yet without a good enough reason to do so. Especially since Money Body had just gotten angry with them and berated them in their Cave Heaven.

Money Body became so angry that the rank 8 cultivator decided to come and join them in the second heaven to look for the dragon. With their boss being so enthusiastic and dedicated, their chances of slacking off fell through the roof, so there is no way they will be able to get out of this.

Fortunately, fortune smiled on them, and they didn’t encounter the dragon again. For the three weeks that they searched for the dragon, they couldn’t find the dragon. Then something even better happened.

Two rank 8 cultivators suddenly died without notice. Not only did they die, but every divine being in their alliance also died with them. The news caused a riot of fear among the divine beings.

When Money Body heard the news, he said, ”This is impossible. I can’t believe it.”

He was still in the second heaven. His useless subordinates had gathered around him now.

Two more members of his alliance had come to the Blessed Heaven World to join the hunt. So together with Forced Exchange and Money Speed, there were four members of his alliance with him in the second heaven.

Right now, the four of them had their heads bowed in fear. With the current situation of things, their fear was genuine. They didn’t need to pretend to be afraid.
