THE GOD EATER

With a nod, he thought, ’However, if they could supply lifespan to Dao Lords through something like the life leech, they would become too useful to Dao Lords. So Dao Lords won’t disregard their lives when they descend like this.’

’The fact that they are not useful enough to Dao Lords to be protected can only be blamed on them. All in all, if you’re going to be weak, you can’t also be useless, or your life won’t be worth anything.’

The Dao Lords above heard his thoughts, which amused some of them. One of them even began to laugh because of his thoughts.

As Martial Will laughed, Black Chains said to Loki, ”Good thoughts. It seems you know your place in the world. So this should be easy to do.”

”You have two choices here. Either you hand over the Luck Supreme Metac, or I kill you and get both the Luck Supreme Metac and whatever Supreme Metac you’re using.”

Then the Dao Lord of Four Directions Sect asked him, ”Are you going to be weak or are you going to be useful to me? What will it be?”

Loki shook his head and said, ”It is not like I have a choice. I know how the strong behave. If I admit to being weak and decide to hand over the Luck Supreme Metac to you, that will encourage you to take both the Luck Supreme Metac and my Supreme Metac.”

He smiled as he said, ”Your question was a test to determine if I’m soft or tough. If you were sincere with your offer, you would have sworn an oath to let me go if I gave up the Luck Supreme Metac.”

This time, Black Chains also began to laugh. That made two Dao Lords who found him so amusing that they had to laugh.

But this abundance of laughter didn’t mean that the atmosphere was easing up. The air between them was still choking with tension. It was really the calm before a storm.

While the two Dao Lords were laughing, their Supreme Metacs descended into the world and changed into their avatars. The avatars were also surrounding Loki.

Loki was also busy. He grabbed Golden Sun and swallowed the Cave Heaven.

With the Cave Heaven secured, he said to himself, ”That makes one of three. Now for the next one.”

He came here and did all of these things for three reasons. The first one was to secure Golden Sun’s Cave Heaven. He couldn’t miss out on a Cave Heaven this big.

Golden Sun’s Cave Heaven is 11,159 million square kilometers large. Together with Time Traveler’s 12,736 million square kilometers Cave Heaven, he gained 21,372 million square kilometers.

It should have been a total of 23,895 million square kilometers. But he lost 2,523 million square kilometers to the waters of the river of death after the Time Traveler was defeated.

He didn’t think about these things right now. He also didn’t think about using the Freedom Pathway either. The Danger Sense Metac had warned him not to use it.

Instead of thinking about important things, his mind was full of distracting thoughts, and he was thinking about trivial things such as the reasons why the death of so many mortals is their fault.

Many Dao Lords found his thoughts amusing. But after being amused, their minds were still made up about fighting and killing him.

Black Chains made his intentions clear when the black monkey avatar said to Loki, ”You’re right. That question was a test. From your answer, it seems you’re going to be a tough nut to crack.”

”But that’s fine too,” the black monkey said with a grin. ”I like a challenge.”

In response, Loki also grinned and said, ”I don’t like a challenge. Fortunately, you’re not a challenge.”

The black monkey’s face fell when it heard this. Then it shook its head as it said, ”What an ignorant fellow. You’ll learn your lesson soon. Now die for me.”

Black Chains didn’t hesitate to use his strongest move right from the start. As he asked Loki to die, he used the rank 9 Death Proclamation Metac. Clearly, he was taking Loki very seriously.

He was talking down to Loki, but the truth was that he had realized that there was something wrong with Loki. For one, Loki wasn’t afraid of him and the other Dao Lords. This was completely unnatural.

This will be the first time they are going to fight Loki, and they are supposed to be the strongest beings in the Sea of World, so Loki shouldn’t be behaving like they are nothing much.

Of course, there might be nothing wrong. It could just be that Loki is full of himself and overconfident.

Loki’s baseless pride would explain why he didn’t feel any ounce of fear or trepidation at being surrounded by ten avatars. But just in case Loki had a reason to be confident, Black Chain decided that he shouldn’t take any chances.

Just like that, the fight began. As Black Chain’s curse took root, Loki retaliated by placing a tracking mark on the black monkey.

But Loki didn’t stop there. His eyes roamed around him, and he placed a tracking mark on everyone his gaze landed on. So every monkey and the four other avatars were marked.

He only had nine tracking marks, so he had to let one avatar go. The avatar he chose to leave was the black monkey right in front of him.

After marking them, he activated the Seal Ability. So a black force field erupted from the mark and began to cover their bodies. The black force field was quick to overpower them. In less than a second, the avatars were trapped, sealed, and rendered immobile.

The black monkey was the only one who could still move, so it was the only one who could escape. Unfortunately, it was also the closest avatar to Loki, so it had the least chance of escaping.
