THE GOD EATER

Sighing, he rested his head on the ground and said, ”At the end of the day, we needed a Dao Lord to survive in the Sea of Worlds. Unfortunately, no Dao Lord was able to come from our race. It seems the dragon race is cursed with bad luck.”

”And who knows what that shifty bird is planning to do with us? We’ve been in hiding for so long, I’ve forgotten what the Blessed Heaven World used to look like. When will the time come for us to appear again?”

If Heavenly Eye hadn’t brought them to this world and hidden them, they would have died in that mass hunting. But he doubted that Heavenly Eye saved them from the kindness of her heart.

She claimed that she would let them return to the limelight when the time was right. As for when that time would be, she didn’t say. So he and everyone else have just been waiting and hiding for a time that might never come.

If the word comes today that the time is right for them to appear, their large world would become a Super World, and he would advance to rank 9 immediately. Then he would begin working hard to become a Dao Lord.

He didn’t trust her at all, but he had to do what she said because he had no choice. Without her, he and the other dragons in this world wouldn’t last a day.

If he disregarded her words and tried to help his world become a super world, he was sure that he would fail spectacularly at it. Or if he decided to go to the Blessed Heaven World to kill sole cultivators, he was sure that he would meet an unfortunate end too.

This is why he didn’t have any hope for the dragon that recently appeared in the Blessed Heaven World. In his humble opinion, that dragon was good as dead.

”I should just forget about that dragon. At least, he got to kill some cultivators before he died.”

”His rampage also made the five sects go to war. If I fail to recover the glory of the dragon race, as long as I can achieve that much, I will be satisfied.”

After this went through his mind, he closed his eyes and went to sleep. Sleep is the only thing he can do nowadays. That’s aside from terrorizing his subordinates and eating them.

The dragon in question had returned to the Blessed Heaven World. As soon as Loki entered the Blessed Heaven World, he went straight for the underground caves.

This time, he didn’t hide himself. So everyone saw him enter the world and move around in the Central Domain.

The attention of the Dao Lords was immediately drawn to him. Some of them wanted to kill him and were contemplating how they would go about it, but some other Dao Lords wanted to work with him and were sending secret messages with offers to him.

For the moment, the Dao Lords were in a standoff about what to do about him. But that changed when he revealed the power of a Supreme Metac.

Loki activated the Devouring Ability, which turned his surroundings into a black sphere. The black sphere destroyed and devoured everything it touched.

Right now, he was concentrating most of the power of the black sphere into the ground beneath him. As for why he was doing this, only one Dao Lord had an idea.

The appearance of a Supreme Metac meant that he was a Dao Initiate. As it turned out, there was a mandate to prevent the creation of more Dao Lords, so he had to be killed.

All the Dao Lords were in agreement about this. The only thing they couldn’t decide was who would go down to kill him.

However, all of the discussions ended when Golden Sun’s Cave Heaven was exposed. With a Cosmic Dao at stake, no one could convince the others, so they all took action.

They tore gaps in the Sea of Worlds to see through. And in just a moment, ten stars appeared in the sky of the Blessed Heaven World.

Five stars appeared in the Central Domain, shining with overbearing light that was more harmful than beneficial. The other five stars appeared in the other four domains of the Blessed Heaven World.

Because of these stars, the law fragments of the ten pathways that the stars represented became especially active. The repercussion was that every mortal cultivator became suppressed by the pathways of the stars.

The suppression was so bad that rank 3, rank 4, and rank 5 cultivators began to die in droves. Their Core Metacs shattered, and they fell over dead. Just like that, billions of people were dying in the Blessed Heaven World.

Despite the death of so many people, the stars in the sky didn’t care. They continued to descend into the world without a care for the consequences of their actions.

Perhaps it was a good thing that most of the world was frozen because of the gaze of the Dao Lords. So despite all of the deaths, no one was panicking or crying. The impact of so many deaths hadn’t had the opportunity to hit them yet.

In the Blessed Heaven World, only divine beings could still think under the gaze of Dao Lords. Mortals and the like had simply ceased to exist. And out of all of the people who could still think, only Loki could move.

Right now, he was using this privilege of movement to expose more of the hidden Cave Heaven. As for his privilege to think, he was using it to think about the people who were dying around him.

’When you think about it, I guess it is their fault that they are dying. Not only are they weak, but they also don’t help Dao Lords to gain lifespan.’

’Because of their weakness, they are unable to withstand the pressure of the presence of a Dao Lord. This automatically makes their death their fault.’
