THE GOD EATER

Loki didn’t know that a lot of words had been exchanged regarding his ascension, and he damned well didn’t know the true reason Heavenly Eye was being so helpful. But his ignorance didn’t mean that he wasn’t being alert for tricks.

He thought, ’At the very least, I must make sure that they don’t know when I’m about to advance.’

His thoughts couldn’t escape their sight, so they easily became aware of what he was planning. What they saw amused them so much that some of them chuckled.

The ones who chuckled thought that his ignorance was cute. But not everyone thought he was cute. Black Chains was sure that he was dangerous and was glaring at Loki with a sharp glint of ill intent in his eyes.

As helpful as she was determined to be, Heavenly Eye didn’t point out that she saw his thoughts. In fact, not only did she not want him to know that his plan to hide his ascension had been exposed, but she also didn’t want him to know that they could read his mind.

Instead, she continued speaking about the matter of his reward. She said, ”Based on my calculations, only two avatars were killed. Therefore, you’re eligible for information on how to ascend and the materials needed to ascend. Do you agree?”

Loki shrugged and said, ”I have no problems with that.”

In the sky, Heavenly Eye nodded. Then she said, ”In that case, under our agreement, I will bestow your reward to you now.”

”We shall start with the method of ascension. So listen and listen well.”

”The stage of cultivation at rank 9 is called a Dao Initiate. It means to become an initiate of a Dao. It also means to initiate that Dao in the area around you.”

”To advance, you must anchor your existence to a super world with a Supreme Metac. This way, you won’t run the risk of falling in Dao Status instead of rising.”

”It can be considered as the difference between standing on the ground and standing on the shoulder of a giant. With the same potential, the one standing on the shoulder of the giant will be able to reach a greater height.”

”My point is that you don’t need to anchor your Supreme Metac to a world to become a Dao Lord. But if you do, it will be easier to ascend.”

Heavenly Eye wasn’t explaining how to ascend to Martial Will, but the Dao Lord of the Martial Body Sect was dissatisfied with her explanation. In fact, he was very dissatisfied.

He frowned as he said, ”That was too much. You didn’t need to tell him about using an anchor. He is already strong. If he uses an anchor, he would surely succeed.”

Tepid Scholar also looked at her strangely and said, ”Your explanation was thorough and in-depth. This is unlike your usual behavior. You like to hoard information. Why are you being so helpful now?”

Martial Will suggested a motive, saying, ”Could it be that she wants to see where his super world is by reminding him to anchor his Supreme Metac?”

Black Chains also said suspiciously, ”Speaking of which, we still don’t know where this dragon’s super world is. Is it being hidden by anyone here?”

The Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect didn’t look at Heavenly Eye when he asked this question, but everyone knew who he was suspicious of. Subsequently, everyone turned to look at her to see what she would say in her defense.

But Heavenly Eye ignored them and said to Loki, ”You can only use the super world that’s supporting your rank 9 Dao Status as your anchor. Aside from that, there are no other requirements for your anchor.”

Loki was wary, so he asked, ”Are there any disadvantages for using an anchor? Surely, something that helpful won’t be free.”

Her voice came down from the sky directly into his mind, saying, ”There are no disadvantages. The effect of an anchor is really free.”

Loki didn’t think there was such a good thing, so he asked suspiciously, ”How can it be without a price?”

A sigh came from the sky, followed by, ”There really isn’t a price to pay. You can ascend without an anchor. But even if you succeed, you will still need to anchor your Supreme Metac in a world in order to establish your sect there and descend with your avatar.”

”The only difference is that as a Dao Lord, you’re no longer limited to the super world that helped you reach rank 9. You can anchor your Supreme Metac in the divine constellation of any world.”

”So anchoring your Supreme Metac is something you still have to do. In fact, it is a privilege, not a burden.”

When Martial Will and the other Dao Lords heard her percussive explanation, they began to complain again. They hoped the dragon would die during the process of ascension, but she was ruining their plan.

Fortunately, Loki didn’t seem to appreciate her efforts. He didn’t say it, but he was suspicious. Seeing him so suspicious of her, Martial Will relaxed slightly. But they were still angry with Heavenly Eye.

Heavenly Eye turned a blind eye to their wishes and said, ”Now to the main course. In order to ascend, your Supreme Metac must become a star. This is not something you can manage on your own.”

”Before you can transform your Supreme Metac into a star, you need a special material called divine crystal. This divine crystal is a special material that produces energy on its own. Your job is to accelerate its energy output with your Supreme Metac.”

As she spoke, she dropped a bright ball from the rift in the sky. The bright ball was red, and it left a trail of red light as it fell to the ground.

The red ball of light was falling onto him. It was actually falling in front of him. But because of its size, it looked like it was falling right on him.
