THE GOD EATER

Before Tepid Scholar could accuse him of talking through his ass, Martial Will said, ”Not only should we swear not to attack each other, but we should also swear to help each other with everything we have, including information. That way, we will be able to take advantage of each other’s specialties and fight at full efficiency.”

When Heavenly Eye heard what their conversation had become and realized that they were about to force her to swear oaths that would make her lose her freedom of choice and limit her options, she became agitated.

She thought to herself in anger, ’These two fuckers! They act as if they hate each other, but they work well together. It seems they are still on the matter of trying to get me to tell them what I know. They are just being indirect about it.’

Inwardly, she sneered and said, ’They must think they are smart. Once I swear their oath, I will be cornered and won’t be able to hide anything from them.’

Just as she was cursing them, she heard Tepid Scholar ask her, saying, ”What do you think about the oath?”

What he got from her was silence as her mind scrambled to find a method to worm her way out of this debacle.

A second later, she got something she could use. So she said, ”Anyway, we won’t need the oath because Black Chains will fail.”

Her words made Tepid Scholar frown and say, ”What do you mean?”

Martial Will also looked at her to see what she was up to.

With so much pressure on her, she said, ”Ever since the fighting began, the dragon’s lifespan hasn’t reduced. On the contrary, his lifespan has increased.”

As she said this, she used her Supreme Metac to look at the dragon again.

Race: Dragon.

Rank: 9

Age: 100?

Entropy: 81/???

Lifespan: 69,842,879 years >> 76,135,842

Attributes: Body-9. Soul-9. Mind-9. Will-9. Insight-9.

Domain: 20,650 million square kilometers

Authority: 1,000%

Supreme Metacs: ?????

Divine Metacs: ??????

Then she explained, saying, ”At the start of the battle, his lifespan was nearly 70 million. But now it is 76 million.”

Martial found what she said to be incredibly unbelievable. He shook his head and said, ”That’s preposterous. How can a Dao Initiate have as much lifespan or even more lifespan than a Dao Lord? Where is he getting it from?”

Tepid Scholar also said, ”And how is he increasing his lifespan in the middle of battle? Is this the ability of the Devouring Pathway?”

When she heard their questions, Heavenly Eye chuckled inwardly and thought to herself, ’The conversation has been successfully changed. Who are the fools now?’

Outwardly, she was solemn as she said, ”I still can’t see the Devouring Supreme Metac, but I am certain that he is gaining lifespan by devouring the whole world around him with his external body.”

Martial Will didn’t believe her completely, so his words were laced with suspicion as he said, ”If you’re right, that would explain how he can have so much lifespan. But such a thing can’t be free and indefinite.”

Tepid Scholar said with certainty, ”He has to be accumulating a debt of Entropy. Once he reaches his limit of Entropy, he will die regardless of how much lifespan he has.”

Tepid Scholar was right, and she would agree with him without hesitation if she hadn’t seen that the dragon’s Entropy hadn’t increased from the 81 units that she saw earlier.

Normally, every action that someone as powerful as that makes will incur a debt of Entropy that they have to pay. But for some reason, the dragon didn’t seem to be incurring any debt of Entropy.

It is either that the dragon can use power without facing any resistance from the world and without producing any disorder in his system, or he is still incurring the debt of Entropy, but he has found a way to pay it very quickly.

A lot of possibilities flashed through her mind about what could be going on. But she didn’t know which it was. She didn’t blame incompetence for inability to understand what was going on because it was against common sense.

All she could do was think, ’Maybe this is another privilege of a Divine Spark and a Divine Tower. Maybe the Divine Tower is bearing the cost of Entropy for him.’

’And what’s up with his Devouring Pathway? He can fool others, but he can’t fool me. The complexity of the instructions in his external body is at the level of a Cosmic Dao. How did he manage that?’

’And where in tarnation is his Supreme Metac? Is it in his Divine Spark? Is that what a Divine Spark is for?`

She didn’t tell the other two her guesses, though. Instead, she shrugged and said, ”You’re right. But until he reaches his limit, Black Chains won’t have an easy time defeating him. When Black Chain manages to turn the tide, it is not too late to swear an oath for cooperation.”

When Martial Will heard what she said about the oath, he snorted in displeasure. He didn’t say anything, but his behavior indicated that he was not satisfied with the way she had circumvented the proposed oath.

While he didn’t say anything to her, he said plenty to Tepid Scholar. He said, ”See? That’s the kind of thing I want to know when I proposed that oath.”

He went on to complain some more. Tepid Scholar had no choice but to listen to him.

Finally, he ended his complaints to Tepid Scholar by saying, ”You have to do something. If you’re so smart, it should be easy for you to do.”

Tepid Scholar nodded and said solemnly, ”Indeed, something has to be done. She knows too much and hides too much.”

”For now, I recommend that we swear the oath between us two. If we combine our power, we can force the others to work with us or be defeated by us.”
