THE GOD EATER

Just as it seemed that Loki was going to agree to Sword Maestro’s offer, Heavenly Eye sent a message to Loki saying, ”If you tie down Black Chains, I will help you ascend. I swear it on my Dao to give you the information you need to ascend if you hold Black Chains back until one of his avatars has been killed.”

”If a second avatar is killed, I will give you the resources you need. If a third avatar is killed, I will make sure to fight for your ascension. I swear to do all of these on my Dao Heart.”

Unlike Sword Maestro, who was making empty promises, Heavenly Eye was straightforward and even swore an oath without being asked. Clearly, she was being sincere with her offer. Loki was definitely moved when he heard what she said.

After she made her promise, she didn’t say anything anymore. She simply cut off their communication as if she had said all that she needed to say.

She left him to his thoughts, and he asked himself, saying, ’What do I do?’

Even though he hadn’t made a decision yet, the intensity of his attack on Sword Maestro increased. This change was unintentional, but it also meant that Sword Maestro’s promise had lost a lot of its importance to him.

Sword Maestro wasn’t aware when Heavenly Eye sent her offer to Loki. But a few seconds later, he learned about the offer when Loki was thinking about it. Coupled with Loki’s 180-degree turn in attitude, he knew he had gotten the complete picture about what had happened.

Based on Loki’s thoughts, he still hadn’t decided yet. But his unrelenting attacks on Sword Maestro in itself represented that Loki was already leaning towards Heavenly Eye. Sword Maestro didn’t like this at all.

The desperate Dao Lord began to argue with Heavenly Eye about how inappropriate her offer was. He also asked her why she couldn’t bundle his safety together with the requirement to hold Black Chains back.

While he was doing that, he also sent a message to Loki, saying, ”If you think about it, you can fulfill the requirements for Heavenly Eye’s offer while also letting me go. You see, the two of them aren’t mutually exclusive.”

”In fact, if you let me go, you will have more energy to focus on Black Chains and fulfill the requirements of holding Black Chains back. Surely, you don’t think you can hold the two of us down, do you?”

Actually, Sword Maestro had a point in that it would be easier to deal with one person than to deal with two people at the same time. Loki was in agreement with him on this matter.

Just in case common sense wasn’t enough for Loki to see reason, Sword Maestro also proved his point by running away in the opposite direction from Black Chains. This way, he would have to pick which of the two he wanted to deal with.

And this was just the start of the complexities he can expect to deal with if he is to tie down two Dao Lords. If, for some reason, Black Chains also decided to run away from Loki and ran in the opposite direction to Sword Maestro, it would become more difficult to handle both of them.

Right now, Sword Maestro’s maximum power output had been reduced by more than 50% by the Seal Ability. This had rendered him incredibly weak compared to his maximum power. So his attempt to run away from Loki was more of a nuisance than a real move with any chance of success.

Original, Sword Maestro’s power should be 9(Cultivation Rank) × (9(Body) + 9(Mind) + 9(Will) + 9(Soul) + 9(Insight)) × (49(Supreme Metac) × 9(Divine Metac)) × 8,500 million(Domain) × 11(Authority), which was 16,699,567,500 units of divine power.

But because of the suppression of Loki’s external body, he lost the amplification of 1,000% from his authority. So his power became 9(Cultivation Rank) × (9(Body) + 9(Mind) + 9(Will) + 9(Soul) + 9(Insight)) × (49(Supreme Metac) × 9(Divine Metac)) × 8,500 million(Domain) × 11(Authority), which was 1,518,142,500 units of divine power.

His power fell to 9% of his maximum power. Then the Seal Ability cut this in half and reduced it to 759,071,250 units of divine power.

In comparison, Loki’s power is still 9(Cultivation Rank) × (9(Body) + 9(Mind) + 9(Will) + 9(Soul) + 9(Insight)) × (81(Supreme Metac) × 9(Divine Metac)) × 20,639 million(Domain) × 11(Authority), which was 67,029,177,105 units of divine power.

If Sword Maestro was at his peak without any suppression, he would still be a whole 4 times weaker than Loki. His maximum power was supposed to be only 25% of Loki’s maximum power. So now that his power was cut down to 4.5% of his maximum power, it would take a miracle for him to escape from Loki.

With his power at 759,071,250 units of divine power, Sword Maestro’s avatar could still move at 759,071,250 kilometers per hour. Because of this, even though he couldn’t outrun Loki, he could still move really fast across the Blessed Heaven World.

This was only Sword Maestro’s avatar, but it could still move at 75% the speed of light. Every participant in this fight would call this level of power weak, but none of the bystanders thought that it was weak.

To the divine beings in the Blessed Heaven World, what they saw was a group of people flashing about through the Blessed Heaven World. The figures of the dragon and the avatars were never still. In fact, what they were able to see were afterimages.

The combatants were too fast to keep track of. But at least the divine beings could see something. The mortals couldn’t see anything at all. They didn’t see any figure fighting. All the mortals could see were the traces that the combatants left behind.
