THE GOD EATER

So at the same attack speed, in the time that the avatar and the world inflicted damage worth 5,968,647 years on him, he was able to inflict 72,171,000 years of damage.

The avatar and the true body didn’t have this much lifespan on hand. What the avatar had was 26.7 million years, so it should have died a long time ago. But the avatar was able to circumvent death by utilizing the life-leech to the maximum.

Apparently, anyone who thought Dao Lords could only siphon lifespan every ten years was wrong. And whoever thought that Dao Lords had a limit on how much they could absorb was also terribly wrong.

As it turned out, Dao Lords can siphon as much lifespan as they want regardless of how many Divine Positions the divine beings have. It seemed the amount of lifespan that they can take is up to their whims. Sword Maestro proved this by siphoning all of the lifespan of the divine beings in his pathway without limit.

In fact, Sword Maestro also wanted to siphon the lifespan of every mortal in the pathway. Unfortunately for him, the mortals didn’t have a Life Fire and couldn’t use their lifespan for anything.

In order to make up for the inability to drain mortals to death, Sword Maestro didn’t limit the life-leech to the divine beings in the Killing Pathway. He also drained the lifespan of every swordsman, be they male or female. He didn’t discriminate because of sex.

Aside from his unwillingness to discriminate based on sex, the other good thing that Sword Maestro did was to warn every divine being in the two pathways of the incoming life-leech. He sent a message to them telling them to increase their lifespan as much as possible so that they wouldn’t die.

Of course, this warning was only to ensure that he would have a bigger pool of lifespan to drain from. But this wickedness of his didn’t save his avatar from the fate of death.

When the avatar was on its last legs, Loki grinned and said to it, ”Time’s up.”

Sword Maestro said, ”No, wait. He will come soon.”

But Loki shook his head and said, ”This is all a scheme so that you can relax, right? Unfortunately for you, I am not so easy to fool.”

Then he resumed beating the avatar.

He started by crushing the avatar’s neck. Then he ripped off the avatar’s head. After that, he took the head and used it as a brick to bash the avatar’s body.

His hands moved up and down in a blur of motion that couldn’t be tracked by human eyes. The impact of his hand as it smashed down drained the avatar of his lifespan like wax melting in the fire.

Sword Maestro drained the life of every divine being in the Killing Pathway to save his avatar. He killed all of them, but it didn’t work.

The situation got so bad that he had to make a decision urgently about what to do next. He didn’t want to, but he still decided to spare the divine beings in the Sword Pathway. This was mainly to make sure that he would still have tools to use in the Sea of Worlds.

Sword Maestro also gave up on the avatar and stopped supporting it with lifespan. So less than a second later, the avatar’s body fractured. Then it scattered when Loki’s fist smashed into it again.

After the avatar died, a small red needle appeared where the avatar used to be. The needle was small and looked fragile, but Loki could tell that it was sharp enough to pierce any of his defenses.

As he reached for the needle, it resisted. It produced a beam of red light that pierced his hand. Apparently, there was a will within it, and it was unwilling to let him control it.

This made him click his tongue and say in admiration, ”I have no doubt that if I let you go, you will find a way to reincarnate. Unfortunately for you, I don’t like when ancient cultivators use mortals to save themselves from death.”

The needle wanted to run away from him, but his tracking mark was sealing it. If he waited a few seconds, the needle would be sealed, and his Devouring Ability would strip it of the remnant will within it.

But he wasn’t willing to wait. He grabbed the Killing Supreme Metac and absorbed it into his body. That way, the sealing and devouring would be completed within his Cave Heaven.

A few seconds later, the Devouring Ability finished devouring the remnant will in the Supreme Metac. So he pulled the Supreme Metac into his Divine Spark and fused it with his spark of power.

While this was going on, the world barrier was still raging around him. The black gas that made up the world barrier had been whipped up into a frenzy. This produced a black wind that was capable of stripping away the lifespan from everything it touched.

In fact, to call it a wind would be an understatement. The movement of the black gas had more in common with a hurricane.

In the Blessed Heaven World, many stars in the divine constellation dimmed. These stars were all surrounding a big star with the appearance of a red needle. They dimmed one by one until every star in this part of the divine constellation went out.

Then the big star at the center of this section of the divine constellation went out. Anyone who saw this knew what it signified.

Mortals couldn’t perceive the extra dimensions and couldn’t see the divine constellation, so they were woefully unaware of this development. Currently, mortals were too busy trying to survive.

Because of their short-sighted fixation on survival, they couldn’t be bothered with the significance of the dimming stars even if they knew about it. They only cared about world-shaking might killing everything around them. It can only be said that mortals were foolish that way.
