THE GOD EATER

This sphere of influence happened to breach the surface of the ground, so everything with it, including the trees and other animals was devoured. Even the air in the atmosphere caught within the sphere was devoured.

The soil was also devoured, so when the black sphere disappeared, there was only a large cavity with a radius of 9,347.8 kilometers. The absence of air also created a vacuum that caused the air to pp as the atmosphere collapsed inwards on itself in a bid to fill up the vacuum that he created.

The sphere had also breached the bottom of the small world. So the cavity made the small world look like a cookie that someone had taken a large bite out of.

At the center of this sphere was Loki. He was currently intoxicated and felt like eating more things. The feeling of pleasure that he gained from eating things so great that he closed his eyes to relish the experience.

Meanwhile, the will of the world was wailing in pain and was cursing him. After a while of cursing, it began to beg him to spare it. But Loki ignored all of these to focus on digesting everything that he just ate.

A few seconds later, he had finished digesting everything. So he licked his lips and said, “No doubt about it. Fenrir and I were made for each other.”

He wanted to eat more things, but he held himself back from rushing over to devour the world. This was because he had more important things to do with the world other than eating it.

Instead of eating more, he used the Power Identification Ability to check his state.

DIVINE METAC(RANK): Rewind(6). Splitting Edge(6). Mind Freeze(6). Nanite(6). Vengeful Bones(6). Gold Body(6).

Almost everything checked out. He was familiar with every change in his existence and had even intentionally initiated the changes, like the time he ate a lot of ants to increase his lifespan and the time he spent 150 years of his lifespan to increase the power of his body, soul, and mind to 6 units.

But there was one change he wasn’t expecting, and it was the increase in his law fragments from 152,884 to 212,996 units. 152,884 units is what he should have gained after eating the previous Gold Body, so the increase of 60,112 units must be from the things he ate since then.

He hadn’t been expecting the increase of 60,112 units because he hadn’t expected to gain law fragments from eating normal things. He only thought he could earn them from eating divine beings.

This made him rub his chin and say, “I should ask my informant about this, too.”

After checking his state of existence, he decided to speak with the information broker. So he split his attention to chat with him while he went around the world searching for the world guardians and marking them.

He used some of his internal energy to form an avatar of himself before the ant queen. This avatar was just a mass of white light as it was made from energy, not flesh and blood.

As soon as he appeared, the ant queen bowed her head and said to him, “Master, I am at your service.”

Its voice was a deep, bass-like voice. Both its posture and its voice were used to express its loyalty to Loki.

Loki let his eyes roam over his creation with satisfaction, while he said, “First of all, what is your name?”

The ant queen said in reply, “I am Hammock, master.”

Loki hummed in response. Then he said, “Hammock, I have great plans for you. But for now, I need some information from you.”

Hammock immediately said, “I will do my utmost to help you with whatever it is you want to know.”

Loki hummed in response again before saying, “How do divine beings grow stronger? I mean, how do they increase their cultivation? How do they gain a longer lifespan, and how do they increase their stats?”

“I also want you to tell me how they increase the rank of Metacs? After that, you should tell me how they increase the size of their Cave Heaven, and how they gain more law fragments?”

Then he changed his mind and said, “You know what? You can answer the question however it is easier to explain.”

Hammock nodded in understanding before he replied, saying, “The rank of cultivation becomes tied to one’s Dao Status after they become divine beings. This is both a good thing and a bad thing.”

“This arrangement is a good thing in that we don’t need talent to advance anymore. As long as we earn enough merits, the Supreme Metac will raise our cultivation up to rank 8.”

When Loki heard this, he interrupted, saying, “What about after rank 8? How are we supposed to achieve rank 9 and become Dao Lords ourselves?”

In response, the ant queen shook its head and said, “I don’t know.”

Loki was somewhat disappointed, but he couldn’t blame Hammock, so he said, “You may continue with your explanation.”

So Hammock continued his explanation. He said, “Another benefit of having our cultivation tied to our Dao Status is that cultivation after rank 6 is no longer possible in the Sea of Worlds. I don’t know if it was possible to cultivate beyond rank 6 with one’s power in the past, but I am sure that it is nearly impossible to cultivate like that now.”

“I said nearly impossible because there are certain rumors that it is possible. But I have never seen anyone cultivate beyond rank 6 in the Sea of Worlds, and never have I ever heard of any confirmed case.”
