The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 291: Chapter 187: The Murderer’s Motive?

Upon hearing Jiang An’s analysis, Zhang Yean and Wan were instantly stunned.

Can so many things be deduced from this pile of sand?

Zhang Yean bent down and curiously asked, ”Do these traces really have anything to do with the case?”

Wan looked around and also asked, ”Junior brother, the sand here looks quite isolated, shouldn’t we consider its relevance to the case?”

”Our investigation just started, it wouldn’t be such a coincidence, right?”

Jiang An thought carefully for a while and said, ”I’m certain!”

”Maybe people can lie, but the body won’t!”

Then he analyzed, ”What makes me think this place is possible, the biggest evidence is the abrasion on the forehead of the female victim, Li Lan.”

”Can’t it be formed elsewhere?”

Jiang An shook his head, ”Earlier, when I was reviewing the case files, I paid special attention to the autopsy photos.”

”The abrasion on Li Lan’s forehead is very peculiar, it has granular marks.”

”Analyzing from a forensic perspective, the cause of this skin abrasion can only be tiny particles.”

”Moreover, these tiny particles should be in a movable state.”

Jiang An pointed to the ground and said in a deep voice, ”This river sand here matches the material conditions perfectly.”

After a slight pause, he continued, ”Especially the scrape marks here, which further indicate that the body lost balance in this process.”

Finally, Jiang An concluded, ”I think it strongly suggests that the suspect was carrying the victim’s body here, and there was a fall and sliding incident.”

In terms of forensic tool inference, Jiang An is a professional.

Zhang Yean and Wan still had questions in their hearts but didn’t say much.

Soon after, Jiang An squatted down and observed carefully again.

Unfortunately, no obvious footprints were found.

Jiang An was very confident in the forensic damage inference.

Since the elevator was already out of service during the crime, the only path for the murderer to go upstairs was to take the stairs.

Immediately, Jiang An carried a flashlight and turned to enter the stairs, exploring whether there were any clues on the steps.

Meanwhile

Zhang Feng, the team leader, and other criminal investigation team members were also in the midst of a tense search.

Because this office building has been abandoned and is in a power-outage state.

During the inspection of the scene, everyone searched upwards from the stairs.

Although Team Leader Zhang is over 45 years old, he has never backed down in criminal investigations.

For these passionate detectives, a homicide case is the strongest stimulant.

When he led two criminal investigators from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor platform, a young officer suddenly asked, ”Team Leader Zhang, should we go directly to the 3rd floor, or take a look at the 2nd floor platform?”

Team Leader Zhang looked around, the surroundings were pitch dark, and even the emergency lights were inoperable.

He took out his phone and opened the compass app.

After shaking it a bit, it showed his current location.

Immediately, he said in a deep voice, ”This house is facing north and south, with the south side facing the road.”

The team leader raised his hand and pointed to the left, ”Focus on this side to see if there are any conditions for a high fall.”

”Yes! I’ll go take a look immediately.”

Immediately, the young officer opened the door and went inside.

The strong beam of light instantly illuminated the entire corridor.

The row near the south are independent offices, and the doors to each office were closed.

After a quick glance, he turned back around.

”Reporting to Team Leader, that row consists of offices, there’s no condition for a high fall.”

As soon as the words fell, another older detective said, ”Team Leader Zhang, shouldn’t we also check the corridor for footprints and the dust on the office doorknobs?”

”What if the murderer opened a door and went inside?”

In an instant, Team Leader Zhang understood.

He nodded and said, ”Mr. Li, you’re exactly right, I almost overlooked a very big possibility.”

”The murderer might be an employee of this company and could already have the office keys.”

”Even though we’ve been investigating for a long time, we’re still not clear on the direction.”

”To be precise, we cannot rule out the possibility that the suspect might have worked here.”

After thinking for a while, Team Leader Zhang said in a deep voice, ”This place is very remote.”

”Finding this place wouldn’t be easy for the average person.”

”It’s possible the murderer used to work here.”

Finally, Team Leader Zhang picked up the walkie-talkie and said, ”Attention all teams, while searching each room, besides focusing on the footprints on the ground, check for recent opening traces on the doorknobs of the offices near the high fall side.”

”Acknowledged!”

”Acknowledged!”

”Acknowledged!”

.....

Immediately, responses were heard on the walkie-talkie one by one.

At this moment, Jiang An, Zhang Yean, and Wan were looking down, searching for suspicious footprints.

After climbing up a floor, Wan pounded his lower back.

”Oy, my old back.”

”This really can’t hold up!”

”If I keep searching for footprints with my head down, it’ll be the death of me.”

Jiang An turned and smiled, ”Senior brother, so young, and your back is already no good?”

Wan waved his hand, looking miserable, ”Don’t bring it up! My body has long been emptied by work.”

Zhang Yean said, ”Senior brother, you should go out in the field more often.”

”Sitting in the office all the time, is your back going to take it?”

”In police academy, the physical training instructor said that going out in the field once is equivalent to working out for a week.”

Wan pouted, ”Junior sister, did we graduate from the same school?”

”There are many ways to train, and this is my least favorite method.”

As they spoke, Jiang An held the flashlight and continued to move up.
