The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 264: Chapter 174: Suspicious Person Discovered!

Listening to Jiang An’s analysis, Mr. Li pondered for a moment and nodded, saying, ”Just now, brother Jiang An’s analysis made a lot of sense.”

”This elderly couple dresses quite simply, and their house is very ordinary.”

”From a criminal psychology perspective, if I were the perpetrator looking for a target, this household clearly wouldn’t be the best robbery target.”

”However!”

”Why did the killer still choose this family as the target for robbery?”

”There is probably only one reasonable explanation, which is that they knew this family had a lot of money.”

”In the isolated rural environment, knowing that the elderly couple’s children do business in the provincial city, the possibility that the killer is a fellow villager is very high.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Mr. Zhao said, ”Mr. Li, we have already investigated the neighbors around the deceased several times and found no suspicious individuals.”

Hearing this, Li Hongbing fell into thought.

He sighed and said, ”That’s right.”

”If the murderer is the deceased’s neighbor, why couldn’t any suspicious person be identified despite the extensive initial investigation?”

Instantly, everyone fell into contemplation.

After a long pause, Jiang An spoke, ”Mr. Zhao, may I ask who you initially investigated?”

Mr. Zhao answered, ”We investigated the elderly people who stayed in the village.”

”Additionally, we set up a special task force to investigate young people who went out to work.”

”But, in the end, we found nothing.”

Jiang An said solemnly, ”Mr. Zhao, I suggest conducting a comprehensive investigation this time.”

”Comprehensive investigation?”

Mr. Zhao looked at Jiang An with a puzzled expression.

Wasn’t the previous investigation comprehensive enough?

Mr. Zhao vaguely remembered leading an investigation outside for a month focused on checking migrant workers.

But ultimately, it was all in vain.

Mr. Zhao asked seriously, ”Mr. Jiang, what do you mean by a comprehensive investigation?”

”I mean not only investigating the adults in the village but also examining the children and teenagers.”

”Children and teenagers?”

Li Hongbing and Mr. Zhao exchanged glances, both showing surprised expressions.

On one hand, they didn’t expect Jiang An to consider this group as crime suspects.

On the other hand, they had indeed overlooked investigating this group earlier.

After all, in their view, Han City had not yet experienced cases where children and teenagers committed burglary and murder.

After a long silence, Mr. Zhao asked, ”Mr. Jiang, this case is extremely vicious.”

”In burglary cases, the suspects might be teenagers or children.”

”However, in robbery cases, especially home invasion robberies, we have no precedent in Han City.”

”This kind of home invasion robbery is much worse than mere burglary.”

At this moment, even Wan and Zhang Yean, standing by, showed skeptical expressions.

Although they could not evaluate human wickedness, considering children and teenagers as the culprits went beyond common perception.

Then, Jiang An said solemnly, ”Currently, with rapid internet development, violent games are common.”

”I believe we shouldn’t overlook teenagers and children; they might act beyond their age due to harmful online information.”

”Rural ’left-behind’ children might experience abnormal psychological development due to the long-term absence of parents.”

”Moreover, these individuals have immature minds, act impulsively and recklessly, and often commit worse crimes!”

”In recent years, crimes committed by ’left-behind’ children are not uncommon either.”

Finally, Jiang An said, ”For a comprehensive investigation, children and teenagers in the village should also be key subjects of our investigation.”

After a long pause, Li Hongbing nodded lightly.

”Currently, this case has reached a bottleneck in the investigation, and even the slightest hope cannot be abandoned.”

Subsequently, he turned and said, ”Mr. Zhao, organize the criminal investigation team into four groups immediately, and conduct another thorough investigation of the village at the crime scene starting tomorrow morning.”

”This time, the focus is on teenagers and children.”

”Yes, Mr. Li!”

Early the next day, Mr. Zhao led four investigation groups to the village to investigate. Besides examining the rural residences, they focused on investigating students in schools.

At 9 a.m., Mr. Zhao led three criminal investigation officers to Yuhua Town Middle School and identified 30 local students based on their household registration areas.

In the teacher’s office of the junior high section, Mr. Zhao was questioning a second-year student.

”Name? Age?”

The student raised his head and answered, ”Zhang Ming, 14 years old.”

Suddenly, Mr. Zhao noticed some scratch marks on his neck.

However, some of the scratches had already scabbed and fallen off.

Mr. Zhao asked seriously, ”What’s with the wounds on your neck?”

Zhang Ming touched it, his gaze somewhat evasive, and said, ”I scratched myself!”

”Scratched yourself?”

Mr. Zhao stood up and walked behind Zhang Ming.

In his line of sight, he saw some scratches on the back of Zhang Ming’s neck as well.

After a slight pause, Mr. Zhao said, ”That’s a significant area of scratches.”

Zhang Ming hesitantly said, ”Yesterday, I went climbing trees in the woods.”

”Accidentally bitten by mosquitoes, it was very itchy, so I scratched until it broke the skin.”

Suddenly, Mr. Zhao sternly said, ”You’re lying!”

”These weren’t caused by yourself; they were caused by someone else.”

Instantly, Zhang Ming trembled slightly.

He lifted his head, with eyes wide open, unable to speak momentarily.
