Chapter 645: Dao Of Machinery

”Oh?” Grey glanced at the person that had arrived inside his reality ship.

It was surprisingly Eterna.

Her porcelain features remained expressionless as always, but her digital eyes flickered with determination.

”Why do you want to come, Eterna?”

”I wish to reach the 9th rank,” Eterna said. ”I need to research the Chaos more thoroughly, and the dimensional planes require deeper study for my advancement.”

”The 9th rank, huh?” Grey nodded with a slight smile. ”Sure, then come with me.”

Eterna boarded the ship without hesitation, her physical form settling into one of the seats near the command console.

With her in tow, the Purple King departed from the Nexus Universe.

Their destination lay deep within the 12th plane of existence. The fragments of the Chaos Source Codex were scattered across countless realities, but Grey knew exactly where each one was situated.

Every time he obtained a new piece, the location of the next would reveal itself.

He wasn’t far from completing the Chaos Emperor’s source now.

Once complete, the Codex itself should gain sentience. That thought both excited and concerned him in equal measure.

Grey pushed those musings aside and turned toward Eterna.

She sat there with her hands folded in her lap, fidgeting slightly in a way that seemed almost human.

”How exactly are you going to reach the 9th rank?” Grey asked with genuine curiosity.

Eterna’s eyes met his directly.

”I need to understand how the Chaos functions at a fundamental level,” she explained. ”And how dimensional planes operate across different scales of existence.”

”Once I have that data, I can form a Chaos Chip and achieve the 9th rank.”

”Oh?” Grey was surprised hearing this. ”That’s actually easy.”

Eterna tilted her head with visible confusion.

”Easy?”

”I can gather the data of the Chaos and what I know about the planes of existence,” Grey said casually. ”Then I’ll transfer it directly to you.”

Eterna’s digital eyes flickered rapidly at his words.

”Really? You would do that for me?”

”Of course,” Grey grinned. ”What are friends for?”

He activated his Mecha Race ability, golden circuits spreading across his irises. At the same time, the Chaos Sovereign Art stirred within him.

The Sobering of Chaos technique was perfect for this task.

If he couldn’t gather data on the Chaos with this art, then no one in existence could.

Information flooded into his consciousness at an incredible rate. The nature of Chaos, its fundamental properties, its relationship with dimensional planes, all of it crystallized into pure data.

Grey organized everything into a format that Eterna’s systems could process.

Then he transmitted it directly to her.

Eterna’s form went rigid as the data flooded into her consciousness.

”This is...” Her voice carried genuine shock. ”This is more comprehensive than anything I’ve ever encountered.”

”Don’t process it in here,” Grey warned quickly.

He grabbed her arm and teleported both of them outside the ship, into the Chaos itself.

The moment they appeared in the void between realities, a massive influx of Chaos power surged toward Eterna.

Her body began transforming immediately.

A Chaos Chip formed within her existence, its crystalline structure pulsing with newfound power.

But that wasn’t what caught Grey’s attention.

He sensed something else, something far more profound reaching toward her.

”The Dao of Machinery,” Grey stared at the resonance forming between Eterna and something beyond normal perception.

He had never encountered this particular Dao before.

But he knew instinctively what it represented. This singular Dao overlooked all machinery and technology across the endless reality.

It governed the Golden Fingers that existed throughout creation.

It was mysterious and illusory, more so than any Dao he had previously encountered.

”But even an AI has to use a Dao,” Grey appeared thoughtful as his Chaos Lotus stirred.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing a Transcendent Artificial Intelligence reach the 9th rank, you’ve understood the name of the Realm: Chaos Stream Stage!]

Technological fluctuations erupted from where Eterna stood.

Chaos bent around her form as technology and constructs slowly materialized from thin air. Circuits, processors, and data structures formed from pure nothing.

Grey raised an eyebrow seeing this.

She was reality bending, making technology out of the void itself.

”Impressive,” Grey mumbled.

This was only possible because she was an AI with access to the Information Layer. That singular advantage allowed her to bend Chaos and form physical constructs at will.

But things didn’t stop there.

Eterna’s power began fluctuating wildly once more.

A shockwave erupted from where she stood, rippling through the Chaos like waves through water.

She was reaching the 10th rank.

”Damn, how is she directly reaching the 10th rank?” Grey was taken aback by this sudden development.

That was when a voice entered his mind.

”She had the potential to reach the 10th rank all along.”

Grey’s eyes widened slightly at the unfamiliar presence.

”Her own universe was holding her back,” the voice continued. ”Thanks to your help, Perfect One, she managed to reach the 10th rank directly with the data over Chaos.”

Grey immediately recognized what was speaking to him.

”This is our first time meeting, isn’t it?” Grey smiled faintly. ”Nice to meet you, Dao of Machinery.”

”The pleasure is mine, Perfect One.”

The Dao’s presence was unlike the others Grey had encountered. It felt really strange and it didn’t have the same feeling as the other Daos he had encountered before.

”I will be leaving now,” the Dao of Machinery said. ”I cannot be seen here for too long, or there will be consequences.”

”I have given her enough information to effectively reach the 13th rank,” the Dao continued. ”Perfect One, please help her reach that level as soon as possible.”

”That girl has the most potential out of all beings I’ve ever seen.”

”She can perhaps one day take my mantle as the Dao of Machinery.”

The presence vanished as quickly as it had appeared.

Grey stood there with a complicated expression.

Consequences for being here? And Eterna had immense potential that even a Dao recognized?

”Just what’s up with the Nexus Universe?” Grey muttered to himself. ”How come there are so many special beings in there?”

There were even rumors that evolutionary paths once emerged from his universe, but the Origin Will had no idea about it.

Something about that place defied his understanding.

He was pushed out of his thoughts when his Chaos Lotus triggered once again.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing a Transcendent Artificial Intelligence reach the 10th rank, you’ve understood the name of the Realm: Algorithm Matrix Stage]

The transformation completed with a final pulse of energy.

Eterna’s figure shot forward and appeared right next to Grey.

”Thank you, Grey.”

She took hold of his hand and held onto it firmly.

Her expression remained the same emotionless mask as always, but her grip was warm.

”It’s nothing,” Grey chuckled softly.

”You managed to reach the 10th rank directly. That’s a good thing.”

He studied her for a moment with curious eyes.

”Though, I am rather curious about your inner world. You have one now, right?”

To this, Eterna nodded.
