Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 607: Training the Infinity Power and Infinity Mind

The sphere floated before her palm, spinning slowly.

”Watch carefully.”

Ouroboros released the sphere directly toward herself.

The projectile shot forward at tremendous speed, aimed directly at her chest.

Then it stopped.

The sphere hung suspended in midair, mere inches from Ouroboros’ body. It continued spinning, continued exerting forward momentum, but made no progress whatsoever.

”The attack is still moving,” Ouroboros explained calmly. ”It travels forward continuously, covering distance with each passing moment.”

She smiled faintly.

”But the distance between us has become infinite. No matter how far it travels, the attack will never reach me because there is always more distance remaining.”

The sphere dissolved harmlessly after a few seconds.

”This is the Infinity Barrier, the most basic yet most important defensive application of our power.”

Grey’s analytical mind immediately began processing the concept.

Creating infinite distance within finite space required manipulating the fundamental structure of reality itself. The technique didn’t stop attacks through force but rather through mathematical impossibility.

”Both of you will learn this technique now,” Ouroboros declared. ”Prepare yourselves.”

She raised both hands and created dozens of energy spheres simultaneously at the same time, she sent crucial information about the barrier to both of them.

Grey and Alissa exchanged a quick glance.

Then the spheres launched toward them.

Grey reacted instinctively, attempting to manifest the Infinity Barrier.

He focused on the concept of infinite distance, trying to replicate what Ouroboros had demonstrated. His newly awakened Infinity Dragon power responded to his will, stirring within his existence.

The first sphere struck him directly in the chest.

The impact sent him sliding backward several meters.

”Too slow,” Ouroboros commented. ”You are thinking too much instead of feeling the power naturally.”

Alissa fared slightly better.

Her barrier flickered into existence briefly, slowing the approaching sphere. But the technique collapsed before completing, and the projectile struck her shoulder.

”Better,” Ouroboros acknowledged. ”But your barrier was unstable because you tried to create infinite distance all at once instead of letting it expand naturally.”

More spheres launched toward both of them.

Grey adjusted his approach rapidly.

Instead of forcing the barrier into existence, he let his Infinity Dragon instincts guide the manifestation. The power within him knew how to create infinite distance naturally because it was part of his racial heritage now and his comprehension was also helping.

Usually, someone like him shouldn’t even be able to use it in the first place but his comprehension was helping alot.

A faint shimmer appeared around his body.

The next sphere approached rapidly.

Grey watched it come closer, trusting the barrier forming around him. The sphere reached the edge of his defensive field and began slowing dramatically.

It traveled forward continuously, covering visible distance with each passing moment.

But it never reached him.

The sphere hung suspended in the air, eternally approaching but never arriving.

Grey’s eyes widened with understanding.

”I see,” he murmured. ”The barrier doesn’t stop the attack. It makes the destination infinitely far away. It’s a small gimmick with infinity but when used against people that doesn’t have infinity it can be useful.”

Ouroboros smiled approvingly. ”Correct, you’re learning fast.”

The suspended sphere dissolved as Ouroboros withdrew the energy.

Alissa observed Grey’s success and adjusted her own technique accordingly.

She stopped trying to create the barrier through conscious effort. Instead, she let her Infinity Dragon nature express itself naturally, allowing the power to manifest according to its own instincts.

A shimmer surrounded her body.

The next wave of spheres launched toward both of them simultaneously.

Grey maintained his barrier steadily, watching as projectile after projectile entered his defensive field and became trapped in infinite approach. None of them reached his body.

Alissa’s barrier held as well.

Three spheres entered her field and slowed to a crawl, their momentum preserved but their destination rendered unreachable.

”Good,” Ouroboros said. ”Now the real training begins.”

She snapped her fingers.

The intensity increased dramatically.

Hundreds of energy spheres materialized around the infinite space, surrounding Grey and Alissa from every conceivable direction. They varied in size, speed, and power, creating a chaotic storm of incoming projectiles.

”Maintain your barriers under pressure,” Ouroboros instructed. ”An Infinity Barrier that fails when overwhelmed is worthless.”

The spheres launched simultaneously.

Grey’s consciousness expanded to track every incoming threat. His barrier stretched around his entire body, creating infinite distance in all directions at once.

The first wave of projectiles entered his field and became trapped.

Then the second wave arrived.

Then the third.

The suspended spheres began accumulating around his barrier, each one eternally approaching but never arriving. The visual effect was extraordinary, dozens of projectiles frozen in time around his body.

But Grey noticed a problem.

Maintaining infinite distance against multiple simultaneous attacks required significantly more focus than defending against a single projectile. His concentration wavered slightly under the mental strain of calculating the energy spheres that were all essentially attacks that could fry the source or core of even a 5th rank being.

One sphere slipped through and struck his arm.

”Your barrier weakened because you tried to maintain equal infinite distance against every attack,” Ouroboros explained. ”That is inefficient. Instead, prioritize the attacks that pose actual threats and let the lesser ones approach more closely before reaching infinity.”

Grey processed this information rapidly.

He adjusted his technique, creating variable infinite distances based on threat assessment. Dangerous attacks encountered infinity immediately while lesser projectiles traveled further before becoming trapped.

His efficiency improved dramatically.

The next wave of attacks entered his field without a single one breaking through.

Alissa struggled more visibly.

Her barrier flickered repeatedly as she attempted to maintain defense against the overwhelming barrage. Several spheres struck her body before she could establish proper infinite distance.

”Focus on the concept, not the execution,” Ouroboros advised. ”You are overthinking the mathematical aspects instead of trusting your instincts. To us, instinct matters more.”

Alissa gritted her teeth and tried again.

She stopped analyzing the incoming attacks and simply let her Infinity Dragon nature respond naturally. The power within her stirred, recognizing the threats and creating appropriate barriers automatically.

Her defensive field stabilized.

The remaining spheres in the current wave became trapped in infinite approach, suspended harmlessly around her body.

”Better,” Ouroboros acknowledged.

The training continued without pause.

Ouroboros increased the difficulty gradually, adding faster projectiles, stronger impacts, and more chaotic attack patterns. She tested their barriers from every angle and challenged their concentration continuously.

Grey adapted quickly to each new challenge.

His analytical mind processed the incoming data while his Infinity Dragon instincts handled the actual barrier manifestation. The combination proved highly effective.

Alissa’s progress came more slowly but remained steady.

Her barriers grew more stable with each passing minute. The flickering that had characterized her early attempts disappeared entirely as her control improved.

Days passed within the infinite space.

Neither Grey nor Alissa showed signs of exhaustion despite the continuous training. Their Infinity Dragon constitutions provided seemingly endless energy for this type of exercise.

Ouroboros finally called a halt.

”Enough,” she said, dispersing all remaining projectiles with a wave of her hand.

Grey and Alissa lowered their barriers, both breathing steadily despite the prolonged effort.

”Your barrier training is complete for now,” Ouroboros declared. ”You have both mastered the fundamental application of Infinity Dragon defensive capabilities.”

She smiled warmly at both of them.

”The Infinity Barrier will protect you from most conventional attacks. As long as you maintain focus, nothing operating within normal spatial parameters can reach you.”

Grey nodded thoughtfully.

”Now with the Infinity Barrier. We can move onto something else.”

She turned towards Grey with a smile. ”This one will be useful to you and your server.”

”It’s called the Infinity Mind.”
