Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 632: Just an Old Man and Myriad Technique Pavilion

As soon as the guy finished speaking, Grey moved.

He appeared directly in front of the nearest 11th rank evolver and drove his fist into the man’s chest. The impact sent him flying backward, crashing into three of his companions.

The encirclement erupted into chaos.

The commander’s eyes widened in shock but then he roared in anger. ”Kill him! He is not a simple 9th ranker!”

Attacks came from every direction. Energy blasts, sword strikes, spear thrusts, all aimed at the elderly figure standing calmly in their midst.

Grey moved like water through the assault.

His body twisted around a sword swing, his palm deflecting a spear thrust. He grabbed one attacker by the face and slammed him into another, sending both tumbling across the ground.

The 11th rank evolvers couldn’t track his movements.

Grey appeared behind a group of five and struck each one in rapid succession. Five bodies dropped before any of them realized what happened.

Another evolver lunged at him with a blazing fist.

Grey caught the attack with his bare hand, the flames sputtering out against his skin. He pulled the man forward and drove his knee into his stomach, folding him in half.

”How is he this fast?!” Someone screamed.

This might look like a normal mortal fight but it was taking place in a higher plane of existence. These casual move would’ve otherwise destroyed universes with ease.

He continued through their ranks like a storm, leaving broken bodies in his wake. The lower-level level 1 12th rank evolvers tried to coordinate their attacks, but Grey was already among them before they could react.

One swing of his arm sent two of them crashing into the docking port’s walls.

A palm strike shattered another’s defensive barrier and sent him flying.

Within thirty seconds, twenty-eight evolvers lay scattered across the ground, groaning in pain or completely unconscious.

Only the commander remained standing because he was not someone Grey could fight right now.

However, his face had gone pale with disbelief.

The commander raised his hand, gathering energy for a desperate attack.

But Grey had already turned away.

He stepped toward the Reality Ship, the ship beginning to fade. The Chaos Severance Array activated fully, merging the existence of the ship with the Chaos itself.

”Wait!” The commander screamed. ”Who are you?!”

Grey’s voice echoed back as vanished completely.

”Just an old man trying to make some money.”

The commander stood alone among his fallen subordinates, unable to sense even a trace of the old man’s presence. It was as if he had never existed at all.

Back at the Chaos Exchange Bureau, Kallen’s sneer had frozen on his face.

He had watched the entire scene unfold through his extended consciousness.

The old man had demolished nearly thirty evolvers in half a minute, then disappeared into thin air without leaving any traceable signature.

Kallen’s hands began to tremble.

”What the hell was that?” He whispered to himself.

Grey didn’t immediately leave the place.

Grey’s destination was a massive building near the center of the hub.

The Myriad Technique Pavilion.

This was where top evolvers of the 12th plane came to acquire combat arts, defensive methods, and support techniques. Everything here was designed for beings who operated at multiversal scale.

Right now, he had taken in the appearance of another old man and was walking through the pathway when he overheard evolvers speaking.

”Have you seen the new path on the repository leaderboard?” A young cultivator asked his companion.

”The Aether Evolutionary Path? Of course I have!” His friend replied. ”Its no.1 in the 9th rank category!”

”I heard it has no bottlenecks at all.” Another voice chimed in. ”The Repository possibly can’t fake that.”

”Who created this path? The repository doesn’t list the name of the author!”

”My junior brother switched to it yesterday. He broke through two sub-realms in a single session!”

”It’s like the top trending news in the 12th plane of existence right now.”

”All major factions are on the look out for this new path.”

”But it’s strange. How come Helios haven’t made their move yet? They will always appear in the central hub when there is a new evolutionary path or something similar.”

Grey didn’t linger around for that long and in the end, he reached his destination.

Grey entered through the main doors.

A staff member approached him with a polite smile.

”Welcome to the Myriad Technique Pavilion, elder. How may I assist you today?”

”I’m looking for techniques that can scale with higher-dimensional power.” Grey said. ”Something suitable for the 11th and 12th rank.”

The staff member nodded and gestured toward the upper floors.

”Our premium collection is on the third level. Please follow me.”

Grey followed her up crystalline stairs that seemed to float in empty space. The third level was far less crowded than the floors below, with only a handful of powerful beings browsing the selections.

”Here we are.” The staff member said. ”Feel free to browse at your leisure. If you need assistance, simply call for me.”

She bowed and departed.

Grey began examining the available techniques.

The first display showed an offensive art called the Dimensional Rending Palm. According to its description, it allowed the user to tear through barriers with pure physical force. A single strike could shatter the walls between universes.

Interesting, but not quite what he needed.

He moved to the next display.

The Chaos Annihilation Fist caught his attention. This technique channeled the destructive nature of Chaos itself into punches.

The technique required the user to harmonize their energy with the surrounding Chaos and Your Inner Cosmos, then condense that power into focused strikes. It was made for the 10th rankers.

The next section contained defensive techniques.

The Eternal Bastion Method created layered barriers that existed across multiple dimensional frequencies simultaneously. Attacks that bypassed one layer would encounter another, making penetration extremely difficult.

The Void Reflection Shield caught his eye next. Rather than simply blocking attacks, it absorbed incoming energy and redirected it back toward the source. The more powerful the attack, the more devastating the reflection.

This one had potential.

The Dimensional Anchor Technique allowed the user to lock down a region of space, preventing teleportation, dimensional travel, and spatial manipulation within its range. Perfect for trapping slippery opponents.

The Chaos Perception Art enhanced the user’s senses to perceive threats across dimensional boundaries. It could detect hidden enemies, incoming attacks, and even predict future movements based on Chaos fluctuations.

Grey then moved onto the support section.

The Stellar Regeneration Method caught his attention in the support section first. It drew energy from the Chaos to accelerate healing, capable of restoring even severe dimensional damage to one’s Source.

Finally, he found the Myriad Form Transformation in the utility section. This technique allowed the user to alter their existence at a fundamental level.

Grey raised an eyebrow at that last one.

It was similar to what he already did naturally, but without the soul change.

After browsing for nearly an hour, Grey approached a staff member.

”I’d like to know the prices for these techniques.” He said, listing the ones he had examined.

There were more and the ones he browsed were the most basic techniques but he wanted to look at the prices before exploring more techniques.

The staff member pulled up the information on a crystalline tablet.

”The 11th rank techniques start at 50,000 Chaos Credits each.” She said. ”The 12th rank techniques begin at 100,000 Chaos Credits.”

Grey’s expression twitched slightly.

This was way too expensive for him.

He had only earned 120,000 Chaos Credits from selling those stones. That wasn’t even enough for two 12th rank techniques, let alone the full collection he wanted.

”Would it be possible for me to browse the techniques more thoroughly before making a decision?” He asked. ”I want to ensure I choose the right ones.”

The staff member hesitated briefly, then nodded with a smile.

”Of course, elder. Take all the time you need. We understand that such important decisions shouldn’t be rushed.”

Grey thanked her and returned to the displays with a grin.

Why spend money when you had a heaven defying comprehension?

His comprehension worked at full capacity as he analyzed each technique’s fundamental structure. The Chaos Lotus within his consciousness stirred, processing information at speeds that defied normal understanding.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the Chaos Annihilation Fist, you have gained comprehension over its core principles!]

Grey smiled faintly and moved to the next technique.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the Eternal Bastion Method, you have gained comprehension over its defensive formations!]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the Void Reflection Shield, you have gained comprehension over its energy redirection mechanics!]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the Dimensional Anchor Technique, you have gained comprehension over spatial locking principles!]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the Chaos Perception Art, you have gained comprehension over Dimensional awareness!]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the Stellar Regeneration Method, you have gained comprehension over Chaos-based recovery!]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the Dimension Rending Palm, you have gained comprehension over dimensional destruction!]

When the last one rang out, Grey fell into a trance as information surged into him.
