Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1941: Chapter 1935 Wild Game

”You’re a surgeon. You’re not afraid of killing people, let alone a rabbit.”

An Hao: ”...” When has she ever killed anyone? She’s saving lives, okay?

Guard Xiaoliu was quick at handling it, and in no time, the pheasant and rabbit were all processed.

Zhang Yun saw there was quite a lot of it, more than she could eat anytime soon, and it’s summer, so it would spoil easily.

So she said to An Hao, ”You go over to your dad’s place and take him a pheasant and a rabbit. There’s too much, we can’t finish it.”

”Sure.” With her mother-in-law being so generous, An Hao readily agreed, ”But the two of them can’t eat that much either, so I’ll take

just a rabbit.”

”Let them try the pheasant too. Besides, there’s Erzhuzi and Xiaolian there with you, are you really worried that so many men can’t eat that bit of food?”

said Zhang Yun.

”Alright, I’ll go now!”

”That’s more like it.”

An Hao packed up the rabbit and pheasant and headed out.

From her place to An Ping’s vegetable company, she had to cross more than half of the city.

She needed to change buses twice.

But the stuff wouldn’t keep in the summer, and it wouldn’t be fresh if left too long.

So, An Hao decided to deliver it earlier so her father and An Ping could enjoy it sooner.

When she got to the company, An Ping and the others were just closing up.

Seeing An Hao, he was quite surprised, ”Sis, why are you here at this time!”

”I brought you something.”

An Ping invited An Hao into the dormitory, where he saw An Shuchao crouched and cooking porridge.

”My sister came, said she brought something.”

”What are you doing here so late? It’s not urgent for tomorrow either,” An Shuchao said.

”This stuff can’t wait.” An Hao opened her bag with a smile, taking out the pheasant and rabbit.

”Whoa, this is fresh! Wild game! Sis, to be honest, I haven’t had any meat for days. I was wondering why the magpies were chirping at me today,” An Ping said happily.

”Your sweet talk is getting worse.” An Hao glanced at him with a smile, ”Go chop this up, I’ll marinate it and stew it for you.”

”Okay!”

An Ping chopped up a big bowl full, brought it over, and said to An Hao, ”There’s actually quite a lot, enough for us to eat for several meals.”

”Finish it early, it won’t be fresh if it sits too long, and it’s easy to spoil in the summer.” An Hao washed her hands, ready to marinate the meat.

”It’s just the two of us; how much can we eat, sis? Why don’t you stay for dinner?” An Ping suggested.

”Invite Erzhuzi and Xiaolian too.”

”Those two have gone back. How about you stay, An Hao?” It’s been a long time since he had dinner with his daughter, and An Shuchao also hoped she’d stay a while.

”No, it’s late, and there won’t be any buses. I’ll help you get it stewing, and then I’ll go.” An Hao busied herself and then said after thinking it over, ”If you really can’t finish it, don’t waste it. An Ping, if not, call An Hui over. The kid has been doing well lately, and I see he’s been good to you guys.”

”That’s true.” An Ping also felt that An Hui had been great lately, having gotten rid of his past bad habits and seriously helping them with work.

”Go tell him your sister sent for him,” An Shuchao said with a grin.

He was always happy to see his family in harmony.

An Hao also felt that if An Hui really had changed for the better, there was no need for her to keep a cold face and not give him a chance to redeem himself.
