Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1904: Chapter 1905: Sister-in-law, it’s trouble!

”Then I’ll go for a walk on the street to see if I can run into my brother,” said Tian Ermei.

She left the wonton stall, glancing around as she walked.

She saw a seller of candied haws not far away. The candied haws were lustrous and bright red, making people want to take a bite just by looking at them.

Tian Ermei quickly walked over, took out money, and bought two skewers. Just as she was about to head back, she heard the candied haw seller gossiping with someone nearby: ”You all don’t know, do you? I just came from the Gan Family’s door, it’s really lively there...”

”What’s so lively? Could it be someone has come to propose to the Gan Family’s girl?”

”Not at all.” The candied haw seller glanced around, lowered his voice, and said, ”I heard her boyfriend from out of town drank too much and ended up in bed with her in a daze...”

”Oh my, is this true? Such things are something we might only encounter once in a hundred years in our Hexi Village! Tsk tsk tsk...”

Gan Tian’s boyfriend?

Ermei thought to herself silently, they had been living here for over a month, and wasn’t the boyfriend others were referring to her brother Tian Niu?

Could it be that Tian Niu and Gan Tian really did something behind the sister-in-law’s back?

Tian Ermei only felt a loud noise above her head, as if she had been struck by lightning.

She didn’t even care about the candied haws in her hand, she handed it to someone she saw randomly, and ran toward the wonton stall where Gu Shuangshuang was.

”Sister-in-law... sister-in-law, there’s trouble!”

Gu Shuangshuang was holding the child, waiting anxiously. Upon hearing Tian Ermei shouting loudly, she quickly placed her index finger on her lips, making a shushing sound: ”Stop shouting, you might wake Nannan! What’s going on?”

Ermei opened her mouth but found herself unable to speak.

Only then did she feel that she was being a bit rash. If she told the truth to her sister-in-law, what else could await her brother and sister-in-law besides divorce?

After all, her sister-in-law could not tolerate a grain of sand in her eye.

But if she didn’t tell her sister-in-law, should she just let her wait endlessly?

Thinking about all the kindness Gu Shuangshuang had shown her, Tian Ermei felt that doing so seemed somewhat unkind.

The problem was that regardless of whether she said it or not, her sister-in-law would eventually find out about it.

Rather than letting someone else tell her, why not...

Gu Shuangshuang, seeing Tian Ermei stay silent, became a bit anxious: ”What’s the trouble? Ermei, quickly tell me!”

Tian Ermei gritted her teeth and grabbed Gu Shuangshuang’s hand: ”Sister-in-law, come with me.”

Gu Shuangshuang held the child in one arm, and her other hand was grabbed by Tian Ermei, as she hurriedly followed her.

The wonton stall owner turned around, noticing the two of them running quickly, and shouted: ”Ermei, be careful, your sister-in-law is carrying a child, if she falls it will be trouble...”

At the entrance of the Gan Family, a lot of people had gathered.

Tian Ermei pushed through the crowded people and dragged Gu Shuangshuang inside.

”Ermei, what are you taking me to see?” Gu Shuangshuang asked, confused, as she had been running with her the whole way.

”Sister-in-law, I want you to open your eyes wide and look carefully, then think seriously.” Tian Ermei turned back, speaking earnestly to Gu Shuangshuang.

Gu Shuangshuang was startled by her serious gaze: ”What do you want me to look at?”

”You’ll understand once you see it.”

The villagers were all focused on the Gan Family’s affair and didn’t pay attention to the two who squeezed in.
