Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1915: Chapter 1908: That Little Scheming Thought

“Oh my gosh! Isn’t it because brother-in-law isn’t home? So the task of protecting the flower is handed over to me!” An Ping pedaled the bike vigorously, still babbling away.

“Really?” An Hao wanted to believe him, but it’s as if there’d be ghosts if she did.

“Of course it’s true. Even more real than gold and silver!”

“Alright, since that’s the case, could you please take me home then?”

“Taking you home would exhaust me to death!” Riding a bike from one end of the city to the other, isn’t that ridiculous?

“Didn’t you come to pick me up just to take me home?” An Hao blinked and asked.

Hearing the tone, An Ping could already imagine his sister’s expression. She knows about his little thoughts, and there’s no way to escape her perceptive eyes. So he simply told the truth: “Hey… How’s Second Sister doing lately?”

“Alright.” An Hao resisted laughter, casually dismissing him.

Ever since An Ping accidentally ran into Tian Ermei at the hospital last time, his soul seemed to have been hooked away.

From time to time, he’d wander in front of An Hao, trying to subtly inquire about Second Sister’s news.

An Hao felt that her younger brother Enping had such feelings for Second Sister, and she wanted to ask him if the two were interested, she wouldn’t mind helping them along.

Who would have thought this guy An Ping would refuse to admit it.

So An Hao pretended to be oblivious as well, waiting to see who got anxious first.

Sure enough, this guy couldn’t hold his nerve.

“Do you think Sister Shuangshuang is alright? Listening to the phone call with Second Sister yesterday, she seemed about to cry.” An Hao happened to answer the phone when Nanping was in the courtyard.

Once Tian Ermei’s voice amplified, he became all agitated like he was energizing with adrenaline.

“She’s fine.”

“And Second Sister? Is she alright? Last time I saw her taking Nannan to the doctor alone, it seemed really difficult.”

“She’s doing well.”

An Ping asked a couple of questions, and An Hao dismissed him with replies that never exceeded three words.

This attitude clearly left An Ping extremely dissatisfied: “Sis, can you say more than three words?”

“Of course I can.”

An Ping was left speechless: “…” His sister was definitely doing it on purpose.

An Ping directly took An Hao to the vegetable company, where it’s not far from Aunt Shuangshuang’s house. He let An Hao shelter from the rain there, and once the rain stopped, she’d catch a ride home directly from that point.

Once the two returned to the company dormitory, they saw An Hui, who was focused on playing chess with An Shuchao.

Both cuddled with a can in their arms, munching away.

“Brother Hui! You’re here!” Lately, An Hui’s behavior had been exceptionally good, and An Ping was quite pleased with him.

As a result, his attitude changed.

“An Ping.” An Hui nodded to him, catching sight of An Hao coming in, he quickly put down the can and stood up, “Sis! You’re here too!”

“Yes. You hurry back and sit!” An Hao’s attitude towards him had also softened a lot compared to before.

“I’m just accompanying Uncle for a game of chess. And also, I wanted to ask about something…”

An Hui explained.

“Sure, any questions you have, just ask.” An Hao said while tidying her wet hair with her hand.

“Well…” An Hui hesitated slightly, then continued, “Sis, I’ve suddenly come up with a new idea. I want to join the army!”

“Join the army?” An Ping burst out laughing, “Brother Hui, did you just say you want to join the army? Did I hear correctly?”

“Of course you heard correctly.” An Hui responded.

“Why?” An Hao was very puzzled, “You’re driving for the boss fine, why do you want to join the army? You should know, the allowance from the army isn’t as much as the salary you earn driving for the boss.”
