Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 141: Chapter 140: Shitting on One’s Head

An Shuchao felt a bit displeased when he heard Bai Yanjiao speak that way about An Hao, ”Yanjiao, this has nothing to do with An Hao. Your mom might just be tired, and she caught a chill from the bath.”

Just as Bai Yanjiao was about to retort, she was abruptly grabbed by the arm by Bai Xue, ”Mom is fine, it’s not An Hao’s fault! Later, you will make dinner. Tonight, I will sleep with you, and let your dad get a good rest for a couple of days.”

After saying that, a fit of violent coughing ensued.

As Bai Yanjiao listened to Bai Xue talk, she felt something was strange. When had she started making excuses for An Hao? Could it really have nothing to do with An Hao?

Since her mom said so, she just listened for now.

After dinner, An Hao came home from school.

As soon as she walked through the door, she was confronted by Bai Yanjiao, ”An Hao, how did my mom get sick? Is it related to you? Let me tell you, we’re earning money to support your whole family now, so you better behave. Otherwise, I won’t give you a penny and we’ll see if you starve to death!”

Seeing her acting so arrogant, An Hao couldn’t be bothered to argue and glanced at her leisurely, ”If I had the ability to make your mom get a fever, I’d rather just cast a spell and send the both of you straight to the King of Hell. Save the air and food you’re wasting.”

”An Hao, you bastard, are you cursing my mom and me to die!” Bai Yanjiao rolled up her sleeves, ready to tussle with An Hao. Ever since their last fight, she had grown increasingly averse to An Hao and was itching to tear her face apart.

An Hao’s expression darkened as she raised her hand and gave Bai Yanjiao a slap, sending her off to the side, ”Bai Yanjiao, if you know when to hold back, I’ll hold back too. We’ll mind our own business and not interfere with each other! But if you’re looking for trouble every day after you’ve eaten your fill, then I’m not finished with you! I’ll stick with you till the end!”

Bai Xue, unable to rest upon hearing the commotion in the courtyard, got up at once and ran out to drag Bai Yanjiao back inside.

Every time there was a fight, Bai Xue would take her side, but this time, without any questions, she pulled her back into the house. Bai Yanjiao, holding her face and frantic, shouted, ”Mom, what’s wrong with you? I feel like after a few days of working outside, you’re somewhat wary of An Hao. Not only are you not standing up for me, you’re even stopping me from defending myself!”

Bai Xue sat down on the kang and sighed, recounting the incident that happened in the fields to Bai Yanjiao.

Bai Yanjiao’s eyes widened in astonishment, ”Mom, you didn’t really... with Li Wangfu... Have you taken a fancy to An Hao’s dad instead?”

”Isn’t it just a little scheming to get out of some work? You also know that the work brigade is backbreaking and pays very little!” Bai Xue, filled with grievances, complained to her daughter, ”Besides, under those circumstances, even if Li Wangfu took liberties with me, what could I do? For the sake of this family, if I endure it, isn’t it over?”

Bai Yanjiao knew her mother had suffered such a grievance and even fallen ill, and she was boiling with rage, ”Mom, are we just supposed to let An Hao crap on our heads!”

”Well... what can you do?” Bai Xue was now at a disadvantage with An Hao, and after having been ill, her mind was foggy and none of her malicious ideas dared to emerge.

Chewing on her teeth and pacing around the room, Bai Yanjiao had a sudden flash of inspiration, ”Mom, don’t you despise An Hao? Since we can’t deal with him directly, let’s do it secretly!”

”What are you thinking?” Bai Xue asked.

”We find someone to take care of An Hao in the dark! Ruin her reputation!” Bai Yanjiao smiled with a sinister glee.
