Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 138: Chapter 137: Cleaning Up the Mess

”The woman that his dad pampered and provided for turned out to be such a flirtatious creature. While his dad was at home sick, she flirted with Li Wangfu, that bastard, just to do less work in the fields.”

”If I don’t show them some color, they’ll really think the An Family is easy to bully!”

An Hao suddenly stood up and walked towards the direction of the noise with his basket in hand.

Behind a big tree, he saw the pair of shameless lovers wrapped around each other, with Li Wangfu’s dirty paws groping inside Bai Xue’s clothes, a blissful expression on his face like he had smoked opium.

”Ha, truly shameless!” An Hao watched, seething with anger, gripping the handle of his basket tightly.

”Ah!” Bai Xue startled at the sound, her eyes flying open to see An Hao’s furious face. She screamed and quickly pushed Li Wangfu away, starting to fasten her clothes. ”An Hao... how... how did you get here?”

”How did I get here? If I hadn’t come, could I have witnessed such a spectacular scene? Bai Xue, your conscience must have been eaten by dogs. My dad was so good to you, and this is how you repay him?” The more An Hao scolded her, the angrier he got. He reached into his basket and pulled out the evening meal, splattering it all over An Xuemei’s face. ”Eat it! Have your fill!”

Bai Xue was smeared with food all over her face and clothes, dirty through and through. Terrified and frantic, she didn’t care about the specifics and scrambled up from the ground, grabbing the edge of An Hao’s clothes and begging him, ”An Hao, you can’t tell your dad about this! He’s so old; if you stir him up, I’m afraid he can’t take it! Besides, if you let it out, you’ll ruin your dad’s reputation, it’ll be embarrassing for the whole village!”

An Hao glared at her with disgust and kicked Bai Xue away. ”Get your dirty hands off, I don’t want you to dirty my clothes! Now you realize it’s embarrassing, what were you doing earlier?”

”Ow!” Bai Xue, caught off-guard by the kick, fell down and took a while to get back up.

But Lun Wangfu, who was apparently used to sneaking around, was somewhat wary when he saw An Hao alone. However, he wasn’t really scared.

He got Bai Xue to her feet, put his hands on his hips, and sneered at An Hao, ”What did you see us doing? As the saying goes, ’catch a thief by his dirt, catch a lover in the act.’ What’s the use if just you saw it? Even if you make a fuss, what good does it do for you? It’s An Shuchao who’s wearing the green hat. Do you think he’d be pleased to know his woman was groped by me?”

Although Li Wangfu’s words were disgusting to An Hao, they made sense.

Who would believe her if she said it by herself?

”Besides, what’s the big deal if I touched her a bit? I’ll add some extra work points to your family’s account this month, and that’ll settle everything...” Li Wangfu tried to verge between threats and bribes, observing An Hao’s expression. Worried that she might speak out, he continued to threaten, ”If you act like you know nothing, this will all blow over. Bai Xue and I will settle our score; we won’t bother each other again. Your family can still make a bit more money, but if you let it out, I have plenty of ways to deal with you... Don’t believe me? Just try...”

Li Wangfu hadn’t finished speaking when An Hao squatted down, picked up a stone, and with a thump, smashed it against his head. ”No worries, killing you, bastard, I’ll pay for your funeral!”

”Ah!” Li Wangfu cried out, clutching his head and feeling a lump the size of an egg swelling up. Rage bubbled up, and with a swing of his arm, he slapped An Hao’s face. ”I’ve had it with you! How dare you hit me!”
