Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Silver-Tongued

An Hao set up her items, poured some water from her own flask, and dampened her handkerchief to wipe her face clean. Then, she casually opened a box of Snowflake Cream and began applying it to her face using a small mirror, in full view of everyone on the street.

Her actions attracted some attention.

Consequently, a person about An Hao’s age drew closer.

”Hey, is that Snowflake Cream you’re selling? It smells so good!” Soon enough, someone started to ask her about it.

”Yes, it is!” An Hao had finished applying the cream and smiled at her, ”Take a look.”

”Is it any good?”

”Of course, it’s good. Everyone knows Snowflake Cream works wonders.”

Indeed, a few young girls were tempted and came over. As they got closer, the scent became even more enticing. Seeing An Hao’s face so white and clean, they immediately wanted to buy a box.

They had seen this product before and had always wanted to buy it.

But the key concern was the price; it was too expensive for them to indulge.

”So how much is this?” one of the girls in a blue cloth shirt began to inquire about the price.

”One yuan and five jiao,” An Hao tried stating a price.

”Ah? That expensive? I’m not buying!”

”It’s not expensive,” An Hao quickly held onto the girl, ”The supply store sells it for two yuan, and I’m selling it for one yuan and five jiao, not expensive at all. I brought this product back from the city from afar, selling it cheaper than the supply store. Don’t believe me? Go ask around. Take a box with you, once you pass this village, you won’t find such a good deal again. Don’t believe me? Just try it.”

With that, An Hao handed the Snowflake Cream to the girl for her to try.

It would have been fine if she hadn’t tried it, but once she did, the girl became even more eager. Considering the high price, she was still very hesitant.

”Give me a lower price. If you do, I’ll buy a box.” The girl began bargaining with An Hao, ”I don’t have much money and I’m getting married soon. I was thinking I could use a box.”

As soon as the girl spoke, An Hao felt even more confident about making a sale, ”Ah, really? Then you must buy this box of Snowflake Cream. How about this, you give me one yuan and five jiao, and besides the Snowflake Cream, I’ll also give you a hair tie and a handkerchief, how’s that? These things together are worth three jiao.”

”I have a handkerchief.”

”Then I’ll give you a few more hair ties.”

”That’s too many, I can’t use them all. Just give me a discount, and I’ll be on my way. I still have to go to my fiancé’s house for dinner today.”

An Hao thought for a moment, ”Come here. I’m giving you these things because they have a purpose. Just wait and see, I will definitely satisfy you.”

With that said, she borrowed a comb from Erchun and cleared some space for the girl to sit down. She let the girl’s hair down, selected a brightly colored handkerchief, and started to tie up her hair with it.

With her skilled hands, she braided the girl’s long hair into a beautiful plait, secured it with a handkerchief in the middle, creating an astonishingly stunning effect.

Even better looking than the celebrities on the posters.

In her previous life, An Hao had seen this hairstyle trend on fashion magazines abroad for quite some time.

And indeed, using handkerchiefs to style hair started to become popular in the 1980s and swept across the country.

An Hao simply tried using a handkerchief to create a hairstyle and immediately charmed both the girl and her friends.

Consequently, she no longer found it expensive and decisively paid for it.

The rest of the girls were also eager to try it out themselves.

With this successful start, it didn’t take long for everyone at the fair to know that An Hao was selling Snowflake Cream, and not only that, she also gave away gifts and helped them do their hair. As a result, many people flocked over.
