Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 119: Chapter 119: No Longer Supporting Bai Family Mother and Daughter

But she hadn’t expected that An Hao would actually lose her temper over this issue and even got into a fight with her.

Now, her head was throbbing, her scalp ached, and An Hao was stepping on her hair so firmly that her head was planted on the ground, unable to lift it. She felt dizzy, her eyes darkened, her neck was sore, and amidst such discomfort, crying seemed to be her only option.

An Hao was lecturing Bai Yanjiao. An Shuchao, leaning on a cane, moved laboriously to the kang in the north room.

This whole morning had been noisy, and he understood most of it from lying in the room and listening for a long while.

Ever since he had broken his leg, there hadn’t been a moment’s peace at home, let alone quiet convalescence.

Seeing the scene before him now, his heart felt as if stabbed by a knife, ”Enough, stop arguing! I’ve heard everything about it! It’s all because of my leg that you’re suffering. We’re all family, so don’t feud at this time. Once I’ve recovered, I can do more work and pay back the money! Let Yanjiao go now, you’re sisters, isn’t it shameful to fight like this?”

Seeing her father treat Bai Yanjiao with such forbearance inflamed An Hao’s already burning rage even more. For the first time since her rebirth, she lost her temper with her father, ”Dad, how long do you plan to tolerate this? A perfectly good home has been turned into this mess because you married Bai Xue! If it weren’t for you and An Ping, I wouldn’t want to stay another day in this house! I’ve had enough!”

The incident this afternoon had pushed An Hao to the peak of her anger. They were already poor, and she had racked her brains trying to earn money to brighten up the family’s life!

It seemed she was wrong!

She was ridiculously wrong!

She thought if she did not provoke Bai Xue and Bai Yanjiao, managed An Ping well, and took care of her father, they could live in peace. But clearly, that was not the case! There was always someone who didn’t want her to have a good life!

Since that was the case, she had nothing more to say!

She had been reborn to plan her life anew and to carve out a splendid path for herself. She absolutely couldn’t get trapped in the same mire as her previous life, unable to escape these dreadful family circumstances!

”An Hao...” An Shuchao let out a deep sigh, his tone becoming even more helpless, ”These are all things of the past, and it’s pointless to bring them up. What’s important now is unity, to get our family through this difficult time...”

”Dad, don’t talk anymore!” An Hao didn’t want to hear another word, she took a deep breath, pressed down the rage in her heart, and said through clenched teeth, ”I’ve paid your medical bills for you, you are my father, you’ve given me life and brought me up, and it’s only right for me to pay off your debts. But from now on, not a single cent I earn will go to the family’s coffers. I refuse to support the parasites that are Bai Family mother and daughter!”

Having spoken her mind, An Hao lifted her leg and strode out the door.

This was the last time! There’s a first and second time, but not a third! If Bai Family mother and daughter provoked her again, she would definitely not tolerate it as she had before. She would strike back, with twice the force!

***********

The events that transpired at An Hao’s house in the morning quickly spread throughout the village.

Song Yueqin couldn’t hide her glee when her mother, Zhang Juyun, came back and told her about the incident. Serves her right! She deserved it!

She wished nothing more than for An Hao to suffer from poverty for a lifetime, to be downtrodden and unable to hold her head up!

”Yueqin, keep your distance from An Hao in the future and stop hanging out with her. Aren’t there just a few months left before the college entrance exam? You’re going to university in the city. I see An Hao doesn’t have time to study, weighed down by all her family’s troubles, she won’t get into college! I think her fate is to be just a farmwoman. You’re different from her! You won’t be walking the same path, better to cut ties early and avoid being dragged down by her!” Zhang Juyun said to Song Yueqin.
