As Aurora, Ling Er, and others returned and began gathering personnel to discuss the various matters of Misty Mountains, Yu Zi Yu’s upgrades was nearing its end.

[My Innate Talents—Instant and Mastery of Lightning have both been upgraded to Level 6. Now, only my Innate Talent—Absolute Evolution remains…] Mthinking to himself, Yu Zi Yu glanced at his status screen.

At the sight of just over 3 billion Evolution Points remaining, the corners of his lips could not help but twitch.

Out of the 10 billion points he started with, most of it had already been consumed.

That was quite unprecedented. However, the rewards were equally astonishing.

Now, when Yu Zi Yu looked at his status screen, it was clear that his Innate Talents, including Instant and Mastery of Lightning, had undergone transformations.

Innate Talent: Instant (Level 6) — A terrifying talent ranked at the pinnacle. It’s capable of freezing time itself. Everything comes to a complete standstill. What’s even more frightening is that as it continues to develop, the host will be constantly surrounded by Temporal Energy. These Temporal Energy, akin to gears, can accelerate the host’s movements or even reverse the host’s time, allowing them to recover from injuries.
As described, the Innate Talent—Instant was one of the most fearsome talents.

In an instant, everything could be brought to a complete stop, as if the world had been frozen.

However, that was not the scariest part.

What makes it truly terrifying was that in this frozen world, Yu Zi Yu could still move freely.

And thus, this Innate Talent led to the development of a new killing move for Yu Zi Yu:

Godspeed Strike — Freezing everything in place, the attack is launched in an instant. The speed is so fast that it appears like teleportation to others. Even if an opponent sees it, the speed at which the move is executed seems many times faster than normal.
This was an extremely dangerous attacking technique.

When combined with Yu Zi Yu’s various offensive abilities, its power became even more terrifying.

For example, currently, Yu Zi Yu could freeze everything within 10,000 meters radius. If in that moment, his countless branches shot out like a rain of arrows, the enemy would most likely not even have time to react.

Even if they realized what was happening, Yu Zi Yu’s branches would have already pierced through their body.

Even fearsome experts that were capable of breaking free from the temporal restraints using their immense Spiritual Energy would not pose much of a problem. Because, as soon as they started to break free, Yu Zi Yu’s Innate Talent—Instant would already have been activated.

Even if it only froze them for a fraction of a second, that would be more than enough for Yu Zi Yu.

After all, an expert as powerful as him could launch multiple attacks in the span of a fraction of a second.

As a matter of fact, freezing time and then attacking was actually one of the more basic and crude ways of using Instant.

The true terror of the Innate Talent—Instant lay in the Gears of Time.

Now, if a user of Temporal Abilities were to carefully observe Yu Zi Yu’s true form, they would notice a series of white, ethereal gears, each about the size of a palm, distributed across his body.

There were only nine such white, ethereal gears. At this moment, these gears were rotating steadily in a clockwise direction.

However, suddenly, as Yu Zi Yu channeled his Spiritual Energy…

*Click…* With a sudden sharp sound, one of the gears on a branch began to accelerate rapidly, spinning clockwise.

And in that very instant…

*Boooooooom…* An earth-shattering explosion reverberated through space, though nothing visibly was destroyed.

Immediately afterward, a distant meteor suddenly blew into pieces, shattered by one of Yu Zi Yu’s rapidly extending branches.

Acceleration…Accelerating one’s own time to reach an unimaginable speed.

However, this was not still the most impressive part.

*Booooooooom…* Another explosion echoed, and Yu Zi Yu’s entire branch shattered, turning into a cloud of dust, floating in the starry sky.

Yet, in the next moment, the still-floating white gear suddenly paused.

Then, under some mysterious force, it began to rotate counterclockwise.

*Click…* With sounds reminiscent of the ticking of a clock, Yu Zi Yu’s shattered branch, now dispersed into dust, began to undergo an impossible transformation.

Countless particles of dust that had yet not dissipated, started gathering, reforming into a branch in the blink of an eye, like a rewind. It appeared incredibly eerie.

Yet, the stranger it appeared, the bigger the joy it brought in the depths of Yu Zi Yu’s eyes grew.

“Aside from the high energy consumption, it’s nearly perfect…” Satisfied, Yu Zi Yu let out a long sigh in marvel.

The Gears of Time was his extreme development of the Innate Talent—Instant.

Compared to freezing the world, where others could potentially break free, which only worked on weaker opponents, Yu Zi Yu preferred using the Temporal Forces on himself. In this way, the terrifying nature of time could be displayed to its fullest.

Time Rewind could restore any injury. Accelerating his time would drastically increase his speed.

Even the Godspeed Attack was just a low-level version of Time Acceleration.

However, the Temporal Energy was incredibly scarce, and Yu Zi Yu only had nine wisps of it. Each time one was consumed, it was gone until the next day when the cycle of the Sun and Moon restored it.

This was also why Yu Zi Yu developed the low-tier Godspeed Attack ability.

After all, the Temporal Energy was too precious. It had to be kept as a trump card.

“Still, it’s fine. Now that Instant has reached its full potential, it’s truly terrifying, unlike before, where I could only use it to bully weaklings and was too embarrassed to show it off…” Yu Zi Yu chuckled lightly, two white Gears of Time spinning deep in Yu Zi Yu’s eyes.

That was the Temporal Energy surrounding him. Only eyes imbued with Temporal Energy could perceive the individual Gears of Time.

And now, the nine Gears of Times surrounding Yu Zi Yu represented his further mastery of Instant.

According to his speculation, if he could gather 129,600 Gears of Times around him, his understanding of the Temporal Energy would have almost reached the point where he could condense the Temporal Quintessence.

At that point, just by relying on the Temporal Quintessence, Yu Zi Yu would be standing at a new height.

However, even thinking about it seemed as difficult as reaching the Heavens.

The Dao of Time had no shortcuts.

One had to move forward step by step.

There was really no telling when he would finally gather 129,600 Gears of Times.

“For now, I should honestly focus on developing other Innate Talents and strive to prove my Dao first…” With a wry smile, Yu Zi Yu stopped fixating on the Dao of Time.

For now, having set foot on this path was already quite an achievement. As for condensing the Temporal Quintessence, it remained just a dream for now.
