Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1684: Evil Beasts - Their Master

Dong Xuanyin, who was relaxing in her little pond, creased her brows. She spread her senses to other areas of the Ten Thousand Beast Grave Domain, discovering that the four perils had returned.

From afar, Dong Xuanyin could confirm that Taotie and the other three evil beasts were injured, although their injuries were not that severe. She contacted Zhang Fei through one of his clones because his real body was in the void, informing him about the return of the four evil beasts.

”Should I meet them to inform them about those shadowy creatures?” After thinking it over, Dong Xuanyin chose not to meet them.

In their palace, the four evil beasts gathered with furious looks, as they had been trapped in the four tunnels for years.

”We—” Taotie stopped speaking. He and his three friends shivered at the appearance of black smoke before them, and they hurriedly prostrated themselves.

The black smoke quickly transformed into a miniature version of the Primordial Nihility Beast. He looked at the four with his deep, dark eyes. ”What about the task I gave you? Have you still not found those items?”

”Master, many things have happened in recent years, and they were beyond our control.” Taotie shivered as the beast glared at him, and he immediately recounted everything that had happened, starting with Xereth’s disappearance and ending with their being trapped in the four tunnels.

Seeing that the Primordial Nihility Beast didn’t believe them, the four evil beasts created four qi screens showing their situation inside the four tunnels, including the appearance of the four mysterious women.

The Primordial Nihility Beast looked at the four qi screens with a sharp gaze, especially the figures of the four mysterious women.

”Who are these women? How can they control the tunnels? As I recall, no primordial beings had such abilities in the past, and all the remaining primordials have yet to wake up from their long slumber.” The Primordial Nihility Beast suddenly realized something. ”Could it be that they are those hidden forces that deliberately appear to protect the Three Mortal Realms? They are part of this universe, as are the tunnels, so only they could do such a thing.”

”Master.” The Primordial Nihility Beast shifted its gaze to Qiongqi. ”You haven’t contacted us for a long time, so we couldn’t inform you that the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon has returned, and he is the strongest cultivator in this Paradise Realm.”

The Primordial Nihility Beast narrowed his eyes. ”Show me.”

Qiongqi displayed an image of Long Wuzhao on one of the qi screens. ”He is the current Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, and he lives in the Dragon-Soaring Divine Domain. We have long wanted to take control of this realm, but he has repeatedly stopped us, and his strength is a bit far above ours.”

”Oh?”

”Qiongqi is right, Master,” Taowu said. ”We once fought with Long Wuzhao, and we lost to him in the end. Apart from him, his group has three other powerful beasts, Master.”

”What are those three beasts?”

Hundun displayed images of the three beasts and provided explanations for each one. ”The Celestial Dragon, Tianshi Bailong, the Void Dragon, Long Xukong, and the Golden Phoenix, Feng Jinhuang.”

”A Golden Phoenix?”

”We don’t know how Feng Jinhuang was able to evolve into a golden phoenix, but his strength is not inferior to Long Wuzhao and the others, and his golden flames are truly terrifying.” The Primordial Nihility Beast returned its gaze to the four. ”Currently, those four beasts are protecting all domains, and we cannot go to open war with them. Besides, the situation in this realm changed several years ago, and all domains are separated from each other now.”

The Primordial Nihility Beast was shocked when he heard that, and he spread his senses to check the situation. He frowned after finding those gates had disappeared, making him believe that those hidden forces were responsible for everything. However, he couldn’t understand the reason for their sudden move, and they foiled all his plans.

Taotie spoke to the beast again. ”Besides those four beasts, there’s a terrifying female beast, and her strength appears to be superior to theirs.”

”Who is that female beast?”

”That female beast is a fire phoenix, and she is the reincarnation of Empress Huo Yanling. A few years ago, she caused chaos throughout the domains, and her subordinates killed many living beings. Ten of our generals also disappeared along with the chaos, and we think they fell into her hands.”

”A fire phoenix?” The Primordial Nihility Beast frowned. ”Could it be that the fire phoenix is the same as the one I felt in the Ancient Realm a while ago? I remember she was with the Calamity Demon Dragon and the Void Dragon, so she should be the same person. But how could they know about the Ancient Realm? All living creatures in the Paradise Realm should not know about the Ancient Realm.”

Taowu spoke. ”Master, we probably won’t be able to descend into the Three Mortal Realms forever because those mysterious women will surely appear to stop us again, making it difficult for us to carry out the tasks you gave us.”

”Forget those tasks for now.” Taotie and the others were surprised to hear that, as they thought their master would punish them for all their failures. ”Many strange creatures have suddenly appeared in the Ancient Realm, and their power is terrifying even to me.”

”Strange creatures?”

”I don’t know their origin, but I do know that their power is terrifying.” The four were shocked to hear that. ”Their leader used a small amount of his power to destroy a domain, so I decided to withdraw my avatar from the Ancient Realm. For now, your job is to guard and supervise this domain, and you must be alert if those creatures suddenly appear in this Paradise Realm. If their leader appears here, the four of you must immediately escape, or you will die. As for those items, I will let you know when the situation has calmed down, and you can move then.”

After saying that, the avatar of the Primordial Nihility Beast immediately vanished from the scene, much to the relief of Taotie and the other three.

”Phew,” Qiongqi wiped his forehead. ”I thought we were going to die today, but it turns out our master didn’t punish us for our failures.”

Hundun let out a sigh of relief. ”Our master seemed afraid of that mysterious woman, so he didn’t punish us.”

”What does our master mean by those hidden forces? Why does he say that those women are those hidden forces?” Taowu asked the others.

”You ask me, who should I ask?” Taotie shook his head. ”We shouldn’t think about those mysterious women now, and we should focus on healing ourselves while guarding our domain. His previous words clearly indicated that those mysterious creatures are terrifying, so we must be on full alert to prevent them from invading our domain, or we will die at their hands.”

”For now, we must focus on recovering from our injuries and monitoring this domain.”

”Let’s go.” The four evil beasts immediately disappeared from the palace after instructing their subordinates.

Inside Zhang Fei’s soul world, Beiming Youhuang and Jia Xianzu sensed changes in every area.

”Do you feel that, Xianzu?” Beiming Youhuang asked, her eyes moving around to examine several areas.

”Yes.” Jia Xianzu nodded at her. ”I don’t know what Zhang Fei did out there, but his soul power is starting to increase again, and the increase in his soul power is also making this soul world stronger.”

”Unfortunately, this change isn’t enough.” Beiming Youhuang and Jia Xianzu looked at Zhang Fei [5], who had just appeared. He gave them each a Celestial Soul Ascension Pill. ”You two need to swallow those pills now, and they will help you both strengthen your soul power.”

”Did the increase in your soul power come from this pill?”

Zhang Fei [5] nodded at Beiming Youhuang. ”That pill is the Celestial Soul Ascension Pill, and its effects are quite amazing for our soul power. You two must swallow them now, and I’ll head back out to take care of some things.”

After Zhang Fei [5] disappeared, Beiming Youhuang and Jia Xianzu swallowed the pills in their hands, and they hoped that the effects would be as good as they had expected.

”How do you feel?”

Zhang Fei shook his head slightly. ”The Celestial Soul Ascension Pill is excellent, but its effects aren’t significant for me. My soul has become stronger, but I feel like the increase is only about ten percent.”

”Haha,” Feng Yao softly laughed. ”Alright, you don’t need to regret that, and you just need to prepare yourself to face Hu Tianlang’s Wrath Soul. He is the most formidable opponent for the current you, so you must really prepare yourself if you don’t want to lose to him again.”

”Phew.” Zhang Fei clenched his fists. ”I’m still weak now, but I won’t stop here, and I will continue to improve my strength. When I’m ready, I will go to the Illusionary Spirit Fox Domain to face him, and I will definitely defeat him then. By the way, Dong Xuanyin previously contacted me and told me that the four perils have returned, and the avatar of the Primordial Nihility Beast has also appeared to meet them.”

”Humph.” Huo Ling snorted. ”If my master hadn’t forbidden me, I would have killed those weak beasts long ago.”

Feng Yao smiled upon hearing that. ”What are the four perils planning next?”

”Nothing.” Zhang Fei shook his head. ”Their master is afraid of the core creature, and he asked them to keep an eye on their domain. However, they’ve already told him about Long Wuzhao and the others, and he’ll probably take action against them soon.”
