Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1654: Defeat Shang Dongzhu

”This is absolutely impossible.” Shang Luohu, Shang Zhui, and the other three asura guardians muttered after they saw Shang Dongzhu’s condition. He had already used his bloodline awakening technique, but Zhang Fei [5] was still able to defeat him and beat him to such an extent.

Zhang Fei [5] slowly descended before Shang Dongzhu, but the silhouette covered in scarlet flames that appeared behind him made everyone hold their breath. The silhouette was the phantom of an Ancient War God, brimming with qi and killing intent.

Shang Zhui narrowed his eyes as he saw the silhouette. As an asura demon, he immediately noticed that it was not an ordinary silhouette. ’A war god? How could he do it?’

Shang Luohu turned to her daughter, but Shang Xueli shook her head at him because Zhang Fei [5] had never summoned that silhouette during the time she lived with him in the training space.

Unlike them, Qi Qingxiu’s lips curled up, forming a proud smile. She knew that the war god silhouette came from the War God’s Berserk Method that Zhang Fei [5] obtained from Puyang Shangren before the auction in the Forbidden Land a few years ago. The technique itself has five sub-techniques, and the silhouette appeared because he used the fifth sub-technique, the War God’s Descent. ’Hehe! I knew it! I knew from the start that he could beat that stupid demon!’

Zhang Fei [5] himself had long mastered the War God’s Berserk Method, but he had never used it in any of his past battles. However, he was forced to use the War God’s Berserk Method in his fight with Shang Dongzhu because he could not defeat the male asura demon guardian while using his bloodline awakening technique.

Shang Dongzhu, who was lying on the ground helplessly, looked at Zhang Fei [5] with hatred. He had already used the bloodline awakening technique, but he was still unable to deal with the young demon cultivator in front of him. The attack inflicted serious injuries on his entire body, particularly shattering the bones in both his arms. ’Fuck! Damn it! What kind of technique did he use?’

Zhang Fei [5] cancelled his technique, landed beside Shang Dongzhu, and stomped his leg into his chest. ”You are not worthy! We were just sparring, but you were so eager to kill me that you used your bloodline awakening technique. Unfortunately, you knew nothing about me, and you underestimated me too much.”

*Swoosh*

A strong wind swept across the area as Zhang Fei [5] unleashed his aura, causing everyone to freeze in place, including Shang Luohu. ’Unbelievable! His cultivation became on par with us, but we could feel that he was stronger than us!’

Shang Luohu and the others didn’t know that Zhang Fei [5] was using the soul link to borrow the power of the beasts inside the beast space. There were seven evil beasts that were as powerful as them inside, and there was also the Ancient Leiyu Tianlu that was far stronger than all the beasts in the Paradise Realm.

”Just like you, I have some secret technique, but mine is stronger than your bloodline awakening technique.” Zhang Fei [5] used his soul manipulation ability to pull Shang Dongzhu out of his body. He replicated it, merged the replica with his own soul, and returned his soul to his body. ”From now on, you are under my control, and I can kill you at any time, so you have to think carefully before you attack me.”

Zhang Fei [5] looked at the other three asura guardians, but they didn’t dare to look him in the eye. He hadn’t used his technique before, but he had managed to defeat them. If he had used his technique in their previous fight, they might have suffered the same fate as Shang Dongzhu.

”Can you tell me about your technique?” Shang Zhui asked.

Zhang Fei [5] smiled. ”The name of my technique is War God’s Berserk Method, but I won’t explain the details to you because it’s my secret technique.”

”I see.” Shang Zhui nodded in understanding. ”Although I don’t know the details of your technique, I know it’s not just any technique; otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to manifest your killing intent into that war god silhouette.”

”Haha,” Zhang Fei [5] laughed. ”Unfortunately, this technique is not enough if I want to defeat you, let alone defeat Shang Zhanluo, right, Senior Zhui? Among the asura demon race members, you are the second strongest after the asura demon god; even your empress can’t match your strength.”

Shang Luohu’s lips twitched, but she knew that Zhang Fei [5] was telling the truth, and she was indeed no match for Shang Zhui.

Shang Zui neither denied nor admitted it. ”For me, my demon race is the most important thing, and it’s far more important than my personal ambitions. Even if I had that much power, I would only use it when my demon race faced major danger.”

”I’m the same as you; I will only use my power to protect myself and those closest to me.” Zhang Fei [5]’s eyes swept across the other three asura guardians. ”As long as people don’t mess with me, I won’t hurt or kill them; otherwise, if those people threaten our lives and peace, I will become their worst nightmare. Even if a god messes with us, I won’t hesitate to kill him.”

”So, does that mean you really intend to fight with my demon god?”

Zhang Fei [5] smiled. ”Shang Zhanluo won’t just submit to me, right? That’s why I will fight him after he recovers, and I will defeat him to subdue him.”

”Zhang Fei.” He looked at Shang Luohu. ”Do you want to kill my husband?”

”When did I say I was going to kill your husband?” Zhang Fei [5] returned the question with a shake of his head. ”I already told you that this universe is in danger, and I need all powerful cultivators to work together to stop that danger. I won’t kill your husband; I just want to fight with your husband and defeat him.”

Naturally, Zhang Fei [5] did not tell them the real reason he wanted to fight Shang Zhanluo. He still has two quests left for the Asura Demon Race, which are to defeat the Asura Demon God and find the Asura Demon Race Treasure.

Zhang Fei [5] looked at Shang Xueli before continuing. ”I told you before that I am grooming your daughter to become the next asura demon god, and she will be the new leader of your race. On that day, your husband can step down from his position, and the two of you can spend time together without worrying about your demon race’s affairs.”

Shang Xueli sighed helplessly because she never thought of becoming the next asura demon god to lead the asura demon race; instead, she wanted to live a quiet, ordinary life with Zhang Fei [5], like Qi Qingxiu and his other wives. Unfortunately, he never showed any interest in her, even though she had lived with him for so many years.

Shang Luohu glanced at her daughter, and she could see that Shang Xueli had feelings for Zhang Fei [5], which was inevitable due to their years together. ”Are you going to take my daughter away now?”

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei [5] thought for a moment. ”If you miss your daughter, I’ll leave her here to accompany you for a week. After I settle my affairs with Ku Shenzu in a week, I’ll take her back to my private place to continue her training there.”

Shang Luohu felt relieved by that because she hadn’t seen her daughter for a long time, so she wanted to spend more time with her. ”Thank you.”

”Do you need our help to fight Ku Shenzu?”

Zhang Fei [5] looked at Shang Zhui. ”Honestly, I already have many people willing to help me fight Ku Shenzhu, including Emperor Long and the others. However, I won’t refuse if you want to help us, and your help will lighten our burden. After that, I will go to the Heavenly Fiend Demon Domain, and I will subdue Sha Mo at that time.”

”If you succeed in subduing Ku Shenzu and Sha Mo, then there are only three demon gods left.”

Zhang Fei [5] nodded to Shang Zhui. ”I don’t need help to defeat Shang Zhanluo, and I’m confident that I can defeat him when my cultivation reaches the Celestial Venerable Realm, but I’ll need to enter seclusion for at least four to five decades to reach that stage. The most problematic are Mo Shentian and Qian Yan, and their abilities are very troublesome, so I still have to think of a way to defeat them.”

”Yes,” Shan Zhui agreed with him. ”Mo Shentian’s ability to bend reality is indeed troublesome, but Qian Yan’s middle eye is even more problematic because he can see through everything, including the void. If he manages to lock onto your qi, he can track you wherever you are, and you’ll never be able to hide from him.”

Zhang Fei [5] sighed inwardly as he still had no solution to Qian Yan’s middle eye ability. ”Perhaps I can use another way to deal with that demon god, but I need to think of a few other possibilities before I carry out my plan.”

”Another way?”

”Qian Yan is obedient to the four perils, so I have to defeat them to suppress him.” Zhang Fei [5] paused. ”However, Taotie and the others’ strength is too great, and only a few can match them, like Long Wuzhao and the others. With my current strength, I’m not sure I can defeat them, and I might die in their hands.”
