Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1591: Second Floor

”Young Lord.” Ku Yu looked at Ku Shan. ”People from the Heavenly Fiend Demon Race had already arrived in this domain, but they were attacked by several cultivators. Sha Huoran suffered heavy injuries, and he needed several days to recover from them.”

Ku Yu raised an eyebrow. ”Who attacked them and injured Grand Elder Sha Huoran?”

”Sha Huoran couldn’t recognize them because they were much faster than him.” Ku Shan looked at Feng Yao, Long Wuzhao, and the two dragons. ”I thought they were their subordinates, Young Lord.”

Ku Yu looked at the four people, and he had no doubt that their subordinates could do such a thing, especially Feng Yao’s subordinates. ”What should we do now?”

”I’ve contacted my demon god, and he asked us to wait for the people from the Heavenly Fiend Demon Race to arrive, Young Lord. Long Wuzhao and the others will protect these people, and we won’t be able to face them.”

”Alright.”

Ku Shan ordered the demons of the Torture Demon Race to slow down their movements and wait for the people of the Heavenly Fiend Demon Race.

”Prince.”

Qian Yu looked at Qian Hufeng, who immediately told him about what had happened to the demons of the Heavenly Fiend Demon Race. ”Even if we don’t slow down our movements, all the challenges on this first floor will slow us down, so we’ll move as before and be wary of them.”

”Yes.”

Qian Yu immediately told his sister, Qian Qin, about the matter. ”Qin, you must not move too fast, and you must be careful of Long Wuzhao and the others. If they capture you, even our father cannot save you from them.”

”I understand, Brother.” Qian Qin didn’t think much about Long Wuzhao and the two dragons; instead, she thought more about Zhang Fei because the influence of his abilities was becoming stronger with each passing second. ’Tch! Could it be that man and Xie Xiaolong are the same person?’

Meanwhile, Feng Yao stood leisurely in her spot, observing the movements of the demons of both races and calculating their movements. She knew that their targets were the people from the Samsara Divine Sect, but she couldn’t care less about them.

[Are you going to take action against them, Master?]

Feng Yao shook her head slightly. ’They haven’t started any trouble yet, so I won’t make a move against them. When they make a move, we will too, and you can kill them, including their four grand elders.’

[Okay! This tower and all the challenges within it are so boring! If it weren’t for the presence of those demons, we could just go straight to the third floor and wait for Zhang Fei there.]

Feng Yao looked at Zhang Fei. ’All the challenges on the first floor are just child’s play to him, and he’ll be up to the second floor soon.’

[Tch! He’s lucky he got all his cheats from that young woman from another universe! If he didn’t have all that, he would be no different from other cultivators, and he’d still be in the Three Mortal Realms now.]

’Hahaha! Luck is an inseparable part of cultivators’ lives, right?’

[Humph! I want to burn all those demons to ashes so the situation in this Paradise Realm will be calmer, and we won’t be bothered by unimportant matters.]

’Be patient, okay? There will come a time for you to make a move, but not now, and you can burn them all then.’

Meanwhile, Zhang Xiaolong [3], Zhang Fei [4], and Zhang Fei [5] were already on the first floor of the Tower of Eternity. The three of them were already moving in three different directions, but they didn’t show themselves and used their invisibility.

One of them was protecting the women from the Celestial Moon Sect, one was protecting the people from the Spring Zenith Sect, and the other was protecting the women from the Hidden Moon Sect.

Three days passed quickly; Zhang Fei, Luo Yunxiao, Helian Xun’er, Nalan Wangzi, Tianshi Shengjie, and Yue Xuelian had already arrived at the stairs to the second floor, making them the fastest to complete the challenges on the first floor.

Zhang Fei saw that Wang Yusheng and Wang Jingzhi were already by Feng Yao’s side, so he didn’t need to worry about them. Over the five days, the people from the three sects also made progress in their challenges, but they were still a long way from reaching the stairs to the second floor.

As for the others, they had considerable difficulty completing the challenges, and many of them decided to give up. First, the challenges were too difficult for them. Second, they feared the demons might capture or kill them.

Long Wuzhao, Long Xukong, and Tianshi Bailong did not experience any significant difficulties in facing all the challenges, and they were already in the same position as Feng Yao. The three of them did not continue moving and waited for the demons, who deliberately slowed down their movements.

Li Guangyu and the core disciples of the Divine Samsara Sect also didn’t experience too much difficulty in facing those challenges, but their other disciples were very overwhelmed , making their progress slow.

Ku Yu, Qian Yu, and their group were annoyed by the presence of Feng Yao and the three dragons. They were slightly relieved when they saw the people from the Heavenly Fiend Demon Race had arrived, but they hadn’t yet begun their challenges.

After recuperating for three days, aided by the pills Zhang Fei had given them, Sha Huoran and Sha Minglan had fully recovered. They were a little surprised to see that Zhang Fei and the five women had arrived at the stairs leading to the second floor.

After he spoke with Ku Yu and Qian Yu, Sha Huo asked them to focus on the people of the Divine Samsara Sect, especially those outside the core disciples.

Sha Huo immediately led his sister and subordinates to begin their challenge, but they avoided the people from the Moonlit Passion Temple, the Celestial Moon Sect, the Hidden Moon Sect, and the Spring Zenith Sect.

”Won’t their presence bring trouble to our people?”

”Hehe,” Luo Yunxiao giggled before answering Tianshi Shengjie. ”You don’t need to worry about the demons of the Heavenly Fiend Demon Race, Shengjie. Our husband has already done something to them, and they are on our side now, so they won’t do anything to our people.”

Tianshi Shengjie nodded slightly. ”Shall we go to the second floor now? The situation on the second floor is different from the first, and we won’t face as many challenges there.”

”Challenges of the soul, right?”

”Yes,” Yue Xuelian nodded. ”We can’t predict the challenges that will appear on the second floor because it’s based on the most terrifying thing in our souls, so everyone will face challenges of varying difficulty.”

Zhang Fei raised an eyebrow slightly. ”Hmm? I’m curious about that, so we should head to the second floor now.”

”Let’s go.”

When they arrived at the second floor, Zhang Fei and the others saw dozens of people sitting cross-legged in the central area.

”They’re people from the War God Pavilion.” Yue Xuelian pointed to a man sitting in front of the stairs leading to the third floor. ”That man is Dugu Yuanshen, the sect master of the sect.”

Without even checking their status, Zhang Fei knew they were extremely powerful, especially from the auras radiating from their bodies. Dugu Yuanshen’s cultivation had already reached the 3-Sun Celestial Venerable Realm, and many of his disciples had also reached that stage.

”That man is Dugu Xuanye, and he is a direct disciple of Dugu Yuanshen.” Zhang Fei looked at the man Yue Xuelian had pointed to. ”The woman next to him is his lover, Ru Feiyan.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei and the five women didn’t move immediately. ”How many soul challenges will we face here?”

”Back then, I faced five challenges, and the last one was too strong for me, so I failed,” Yue Xuelian answered him.

”How do we begin the challenge here?”

”We simply need to step forward, and our souls will be sent to the first test on their own. Once we complete the first challenge, our souls will be returned to our bodies so we can move on to the second challenge, and so on.”

Zhang Fei looked at the area before them. ”Now that I think about it, this second floor could be a mass grave.”

”That’s right.” Yue Xuelian nodded at him. ”All cultivators who are not undergoing challenges can attack other cultivators, and they won’t notice if others attack them. That’s why we cannot step forward at the same time; we must take turns to protect each other’s backs.”

Zhang Fei nodded in understanding. ”In that case, we should start the challenge on this floor while the demons are busy with their challenge on the first floor, and we need to reach the farthest area as quickly as possible.”

”Let’s go.” Zhang Fei immediately led them forward, and they sat down in the area before their souls were sent to the first challenge.

Dugu Yuanshen, who was sitting in the distance, immediately opened his eyes. His gaze focused on Zhang Fei’s group, and his eyes flashed golden before he frowned, realizing Nalan Wangzi’s identity. ”That woman is the first princess of the Soul-Devouring Demon Race, and another woman is the princess of the Celestial Dragon Race. Why is Sect Master Yue Xuelian also with them? Is she not aware of that female demon’s identity?”
