Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1565: System Level 9

[Ding.]

[Initiating the process for the system upgrade to level 9. Estimated completion time: one month.]

[New upgrades will be implemented after the process is complete.]

[Unable to generate new quests, the host’s cultivation is insufficient.]

Zhang Fei and Mei were both surprised by the notification. They had previously assumed the system wouldn’t receive an upgrade until they went to another realm, but it had suddenly upgraded on its own.

[You don’t need to ask me, Master. I myself don’t know why the system suddenly entered the upgrade process, but I think this is very good for you because the last time the system upgraded to level eight was almost twelve years ago.]

’I’m sure this is the young girl’s doing because she created the system.’

[I think so too, Master.]

Zhang Fei immediately led Nalan Wangzi to meet Luo Yunxiao and the others, who had gathered in the family garden. He smiled when he saw the two children. ”They should be Luo Huxiao and Luo Xuanyao, right?”

”Nice to meet you, Uncle Zhang.” Unlike Luo Yunxiao before, the two little ones were overjoyed as soon as they saw Zhang Fei.

Luo Yunxiao pursed her lips because her nephew and niece were so embarrassed by her, but they immediately got along with Zhang Fei, even though they had just met him for the first time.

Luo Yunxiao’s reaction made Chen Mengyao and Bing Xingying smile to themselves, and they were also happy because their two children immediately got along with their uncle.

”Haha,” Zhang Fei carried the two boys. ”You guys are big now! The last time I saw you two, your mothers had just given birth to you.”

”Hehe,” Luo Xuanyao hugged his neck. ”Uncle Zhang, you should visit us more often in the future, okay?”

Luo Huxiao also spoke to him. ”Uncle Zhang, I’ve wanted to meet you for a long time, but you only appeared today. I’ve wanted to thank you for a long time; my mother already told me that she was pregnant with me thanks to you.”

”You don’t need to thank me because your parents are my family, and family should always help each other.” Zhang Fei turned to the little girl. ”I promise I’ll visit you two more often, and you two can also visit me at the Moonlit Passion Temple.”

Luo Huxiao and Luo Xuanyao nodded to him. ”Aunt Yunxiao has told us a lot about the Moonlit Passion Temple, and we can’t wait to see everything for ourselves.”

”You two will enjoy being there, and you can also learn many things from all those senior cultivators.”

”Yes,”

Luo Xuanyao looked at Nalan Wangzhi. ”Is that auntie one of your wives, Uncle Zhang?”

”Her name is Nalan Wangzi, so you can call her Aunt Wangzi.”

Luo Huxiao and Luo Xuanyao waved towards Nalan Wangzi. ”Aunt Wangzi, nice to meet you.”

”Nice to meet you too.” Nalan Wangzi handed them two items. ”You two should keep them safe, okay? If you two are ever in danger, just inject your qi into them, and they’ll protect you.”

”Thank you, Aunt Wangzi.”

”Have you checked that domain, husband?” Luo Yunxiao asked him.

”Yes,” Zhang Fei immediately created a qi screen, displaying what had previously happened in the Ancient Desolation Domain. ”As you can see, those shadowy creatures kill weak demons and beasts, but they control the strong ones. Feng Yao and Old Fox don’t know their origins, but they both suspect that those creatures are targeting his Greed and Envy Souls, which will hinder the birth of the next ten-tailed fox.”

”Why do they want to stop the birth of the next ten-tailed fox?”

”No clue.” Zhang Fei turned to Bing Xingying. ”Sister-in-law, we will go to that place to meet the Will of the Universe now, and I will ask her to protect the old fox’s two souls.”

”Okay.” After Zhang Fei put the two little ones down, Bing Xingying immediately took him into the void.

”Aunt Wangzi, are you a demon?”

Nalan Wangzi squatted in front of the two children. ”Are you two afraid of demons?”

”My mother said that not all demons are evil.”

”My mother said that Uncle Zhang has many demon wives.”

”Yes,” Nalan Wangzi nodded at them. ”Your uncle does have many demon wives, and you two can meet them when you visit our sect later.”

”We both can’t wait to visit there, but we have to wait for them to return first.”

”Yes,”

.

Zhang Fei and Bing Xingying were already standing before the Will of the Universe. {I already know your wish, and I have protected Hu Tianlang’s two souls from those shadowy creatures. However, their goal isn’t just his two souls; they seem to be after something else as well.}

”For example?”

{I can’t confirm their objective yet, and I’m still monitoring their movements. Right now, the situation in the Ancient Realm is getting more chaotic because they control many demons and beasts, and they are attacking other races that live there. Fortunately, they currently only appear there, and the situation would be even more complicated if they also appeared in the Paradise Realm.}

”Do you think they will appear in the Paradise Realm?”

{We can’t ignore that possibility, but fortunately, you asked me to remove those gates, so the situation in the Paradise Realm should be more under control than in the Ancient Realm.}

”Where did those shadowy creatures actually come from? Why did they suddenly appear in the Ancient Realm?”

{Unfortunately, I haven’t managed to find their origin, so I can’t stop them completely yet.}

”Is there another way for me to get to the Ancient Realm?”

{Her.} The woman pointed to Bing Xingying. {Bing Xingying is a void spirit, so she can take you there without passing through the Ancient Desolation Domain. However, I don’t recommend you go there now because those shadowy creatures are too powerful, and you will die if they attack you. Worst case scenario, they will take over your body and control you, and I won’t be able to stop them from invading all the domains in this Paradise Realm.}

Zhang Fei shuddered at the thought. He was not afraid to face those shadowy creatures, but he was afraid that they would use him to invade the Paradise Realm, which would affect his family members. ”What do you think I should do now?”

{Focus on your cultivation and settle all your matters in the Paradise Realm first, and you don’t need to add unnecessary things like adding new shops.}

Zhang Fei smiled bitterly upon hearing this, as he was preparing those shops for his family’s future, particularly for his future children.

{I understand your goal in opening those shops, but it’s just a waste of your time. There are still many problems awaiting you, and the appearance of those shadowy creatures will add to your burden, so you should prioritize dealing with those issues. Moreover, you’ve already recruited several clans and sects into your domain, and you’ll recruit many more in the future, so you can focus on your own domain.}

”You’re right about that.” Zhang Fei sighed softly. ”Can my sister-in-law take me to the void core now?”

{Not yet, Zhang Fei. If you want to obtain new elements, you can look for the other elemental seeds first, and you can take the void elemental seed when Bing Xingying becomes stronger.}

Zhang Fei wasn’t too interested in other elements, and he wanted to get the void element faster because it would be useful for him when he traveled to other domains, including the Ancient Realm. ”Hmm? I thought the metal element would be useful, and I already have the location of the metal elemental seed, so I thought I’d look for it first.”

{The metal elemental seed is located in the Glazed Heaven Domain, but its location isn’t easy to reach, and you’ll encounter many battles there. You can bring all your wives to the domain, as most of them, like Zhang Chen and the others, have never been involved in actual combat. They have been training for decades, so it is time for them to get their feet wet in real combat, and the domain is perfect for their training ground.}

Zhang Fei had never allowed Zhang Chen or any other woman to get involved in the fighting, and he wanted them to always live in a safe situation without any bloodshed, but he understood her intentions. ”Sigh! I’ll take them to that domain so they can practice for real combat. Since my business is finished, I will return now, and I will prepare to take them to that domain.”

{Good luck, Zhang Fei.} After that, the woman sent Zhang Fei and Bing Xingying back. {Could those shadowy creatures have been created by the source that formed this universe? If that’s true, I won’t be able to stop them forever, and they might even break through my defenses one day.}

When Zhang Fei and Bing Xingying returned to the Immortal Lotus Sanctuary, Luo Yunxiao and the others were gathering with Luo Fenghan and Huang Xiaoyi in the dining hall, so they immediately joined them.

”Father-in-law, have you ever been to the Glazed Heaven Domain in the past?”

”Hmm?” Luo Fenghan looked at Zhang Fei. ”Why are you suddenly asking about that domain? Do you want to train there?”

Zhang Fei nodded at him. ”I was thinking of taking everyone to that domain to train, and I’ll also look for something there.”

”I see.” Luo Fenghan immediately explained to him about the situation in that domain. ”You must be careful in that domain because you will encounter people from the War God Pavilion there, and the beasts there are powerful, so you must protect your people from them.”
