Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1590: Zhang Fei’s Purpose

After the two female beasts freed the other six demons, they immediately went to help Sha Huoran and Sha Minglan.

”Are you really not going to stop us from doing anything to the members of the Divine Samsara Sect?” Sha Huo asked with a hint of surprise.

Zhang Fei [1] thought for a moment. ”I only ask you to let go of the old man named Yu Shan, and you can do whatever you want with the rest. That old man is a good man, so I don’t want anything to happen to him. Besides, I forbid you from capturing people from the Moonlit Passion Temple, the Celestial Moon Sect, the Hidden Moon Sect, and the Spring Zenith Sect because they are my people. You should be able to recognize their identities from the symbols on their clothing, so you won’t be mistaken about them.”

”What about other cultivators?”

Zhang Fei [1] touched Sha Huo’s forehead. ”Wang Yusheng and Wang Jingzhi are my friends.”

”I see.” Sha Huo nodded in understanding. ”You should already know that members of the Torture Demon Race and the Thousand Eyes Demon Race are in the tower, and I can’t stop them from capturing your people.”

”I will handle the members of both demon races myself, so you don’t need to worry about them.” Zhang Fei [1] glanced at the timid Sha Qingge. ”Your sister is a princess, but she is so timid. She keeps hiding behind you even though I don’t do anything else to you.”

’Who wouldn’t be timid in front of you? Your cultivation is still at the Celestial Emperor Realm, but you managed to defeat Grand Elder Huoran.’ Sha Qingge grumbled inwardly, but she immediately realized her mistake because Zhang Fei [1] could read her mind.

Zhang Fei [1] teased her directly. ”Hey, Princess Qingge, how about you become my woman?”

”W-what?” Sha Qingge stammered. ”No! I don’t want to be your woman!”

”Haha,” Zhang Fei [1] laughed and left them.

The other demons carried Sha Huoran, who was still weak after Zhang Fei [1] and Feltia [2] absorbed his life force and cultivation, to the front of their prince and princess, followed by Sha Minglan and the others.

”How is your condition, Grand Elder?”

Sha Huoran glanced at Zhang Fei [1] for a moment. ”Prince, I am not injured, but my condition is still weak after they used their abilities on me. We should go to the next area, and I will recover there. Once I recover, we will go to the tower to join the others, but you and my princess must remain careful.”

”Alright, let’s move now.” Sha Huo immediately led them.

Sha Qingge followed her brother, glancing at Zhang Fei [1] several times and wondering whether he could still read her mind if she returned to the Heavenly Fiend Demon later.

”Are you interested in that princess, Big Brother?”

Zhang Fei [1] shook his head at Zhang Lin. ”I’m not interested in her, and I was just teasing her just now. Alright, you guys don’t need to worry about them and focus on your training in this area. We’ll move on to the next area once you’re used to your new powers.”

After that, all the women there spread out to various locations in the first forest area, supervised by Zhang Fei’s two clones, Yao Qilin, and Fei Lian.

”Grand Elder, what technique do you think he used to maintain his strength for so long?” Sha Qingge asked once they arrived at the second area.

Sha Huoran exhaled softly. ”I don’t know what kind of technique he used earlier, Princess. I’ve fought Xie Yao and Xie Yan in the past, but they didn’t possess such abilities, even though they were lust demon gods. Besides, that young demon’s strengthening technique was truly unusual because he could surpass my maximum strength, and his speed was also abnormal, surpassing the speed demon, Su Shentian.”

”Fortunately, he didn’t intend to kill us from the start, or we would have been corpses by now.” Sha Minglan spoke, but she was still aggrieved because Zhang Fei [1] duplicated her soul and merged it with his.

”I think I know his identity.” They looked at Sha Huo. ”He said that the people from the Moonlit Passion Temple are his people, so I’m sure he’s the mysterious person behind the sect’s great changes. However, I don’t know about his relationship with the members of the Celestial Moon Sect, the Hidden Moon Sect, and the Spring Zenith Sect.”

”Isn’t the Celestial Moon Sect a women-only sect? Why would they form a relationship with a dual cultivation sect like the Moonlit Passion Temple?”

Sha Huo spoke to his sister directly. ”Qingge, that sect is no longer a dual cultivation sect, and it transformed into a universal sect several years ago. That man has managed to recruit many renowned cultivators and clans from this realm, including Jian Kuang, Su Shentian, Zhuxian Sheng, and many more. Long before the changes that occurred in this realm, I thought about investigating that sect and seeing the situation there firsthand, but our mother forbade me from going there because Empress Huo protects the sect.”

”You mean that young demon changed the sect, Brother?”

”Yes.” Sha Huo nodded slightly. ”I’ve heard people from that sect in other domains talk about him, but they haven’t revealed his true identity to the public. Judging by his previous battle with our grand elder, I’m certain that he’s the person they were referring to back then.”

”Why did the sect members accept him if he’s a demon like us?”

Sha Huo sighed softly. ”Qingge, the sect accepts all races as members, including demons. I heard rumors that Nalan Wangzi also joined the sect, but I don’t know if it’s true because I’ve never been there before.”

”A sect that accepts members of all races,” Sha Qingge mumbled in disbelief.

”That’s why I wanted to check the sect myself, but our mother wouldn’t allow me to join there.”

”Prince and Princess, we will rest here, and I will recover my strength first.” Sha Huoran immediately sat under a large tree and began cultivating, with several demons standing guard to protect him.

Although her injuries were not as severe as Sha Huoran’s, Sha Minglan also sought an empty space to recover.

Sha Huo brought his sister to sit with him, protected by several other demons. ”Sorry, Qingge. I couldn’t protect you from that man, and—”

”No need, Brother,” Sha Qingge interrupted. ”We didn’t know we’d encounter such a powerful young demon, and he could even defeat our grand elder. Although I’m upset about our situation, at least we’re still alive now, and he said he would release us once this Paradise Realm is at peace.”

Sha Huo inwardly sighed and thought. ”Do you think this Paradise Realm will be able to find peace with so many races in it? The chaotic situation in this realm has persisted for several generations, and many cultivators, including our parents, are focused on dominating everything.”

”I don’t know.” Sha Qingge supported her head with both hands. ”I know that all races have lofty ambitions to be the best compared to others, and the situation in this realm will never be peaceful if they cannot put aside their ambitions. Even so, I will always hope that everything can be peaceful and that all races can live side by side without problems, but I don’t know if my hope will ever come true.”

”Haha,” Sha Huo embraced his sister. ”You are indeed different from other demons, including me, and you have a kinder heart than us.”

”Thank you for always understanding me, Brother.” Sha Qingge laid her head on his shoulder. ”Unlike you, our parents, especially our mother, always asked me to change my mindset and forced me to be cruel. She even forced me to kill several humans in the past, and I can’t forget their faces to this day, even though the incident happened long ago.”

Sha Huo nodded slightly. ”I understand how you feel, and I want you to stay true to yourself forever. As for me, I am our father’s successor, and I have a great responsibility to our demon race. Although I dislike killing as much as you do, I have no other choice but to do so, and I will do whatever it takes to ensure that our demon race does not become extinct like other demon races in the past.”

”Are we really going to sacrifice those humans to fight the Celestial Demon Race, Brother?”

”That was the decision of our father, Demon God Ku Shenzu, and Demon God Qian Yan.”

Sha Qingge sighed. ”I truly pity those humans, Brother.”

”Me too.”

Unlike the other cultivators, Zhang Fei, Luo Yunxiao, Yue Xuelian, Nalan Wangzi, Helian Xun’er, and Tianshi Shengjie didn’t experience any significant obstacles from all the challenges. They were already getting closer to the stairs leading to the second floor, leaving others puzzled about their abilities, including those from the Divine Samsara Sect.

At first, Yue Xuelian decided to slow down her progress, but Feng Yao asked her to go with Zhang Fei and the others to the second floor as soon as possible, and she would protect the people from the Celestial Moon Sect for her.

Meanwhile, Wang Yusheng and Wang Jingzhi were repeatedly sent to other areas, making it difficult for them to approach Zhang Fei’s group.

The people of the Divine Samsara Sect knew that demons from both races were targeting them, so Li Guangyu asked some of their groups to spread out, and he focused on protecting their core disciples. He wasn’t confident that he could face Ku Shan and the others, but he was relieved by the presence of Long Wuzhao and the other two dragons, plus Liang Huizhong was on his way to the domain. ”These demons are truly troublesome, and they will wreak havoc soon.”
