Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1388: Mo Tianshen Inherits Strength

”But—”

”It’s fine.” The old male demon stood in front of Mo Tianshen and grabbed his shoulder. ”Since that day, I had already decided that you would be my successor, but you disappeared without a trace, and I never knew that Mo Shentian had banished you to the Three Mortal Realms. If I had known about it, I wouldn’t have given him my power. Since you’ve returned to this realm, I will give you my remaining strength. Although this strength won’t help you ascend to the Demon God of our Celestial Demon Race, it can at least help you reach that stage faster. Once you successfully reach that stage, you must eliminate your brother and restore peace to our demon race.”

”Demon God.” Mo Tianshen kowtowed to the old male demon three times as a sign of respect. ”I will accept your final strength, and I will use it to defeat my brother. I can’t promise you anything about changes to our Celestial Demon Race, but I will bring peace back to the demon race.”

The old male demon nodded in understanding to Mo Tianshen, and he turned to Morgana. ”A demon from the Witch Demon Race, huh? Since you are his wife, you must help him regain his status in our Celestial Demon Race, and you must help him bring peace back to our demon race.”

”I will definitely help him, Demon God.” Morgana answered the old male demon with a serious look.

”Good.” The old male demon looked at Mo Tianshen again. ”It’s time for us to part ways, and this will be our last meeting, Little Tianshen. I entrust our Celestial Demon Race to you, and I hope you can bring peace back to our demon race. After today, you will inherit all my remaining demon powers, and it will make your path to Demon God Rank easier.”

Mo Tianshen nodded to the old male demon. ”I will definitely do it, Demon God.”

”Hahaha! I can finally rest in peace.” The old male demon laughed, and he transferred all his demon power to Mo Tianshen.

A moment later, the old male demon’s body turned transparent after he gave his remaining power to Mo Tianshen. ”Demon god.”

”Farewell, Little Tianshen.” The old male demon disappeared completely a moment later.

Mo Tianshen clenched his fists tightly and kowtowed there three times as a final sign of respect. ”Zhang Fei [5], I will not come out of seclusion until the time for our final battle, and I will be the one to face Mo Shentian when the time comes.”

”I know.” Zhang Fei [5] immediately left the place.

Mo Tianshen turned to Morgana. ”For now, I must focus on absorbing my ancestor’s power, and I probably won’t wake up anytime soon.”

”I see.” Morgana hugged her husband. ”You can focus on absorbing your ancestor’s power, and I will always be faithfully waiting by your side.”

”Thank you.” Mo Tianshen kissed Morgana for a while before focusing on absorbing the power of the old male demon.

Morgana stared at her husband with a strange feeling. At first, they both came from the mortal realm, but her husband had changed significantly, and he turned out to be a successor of the Celestial Demon Race, which made their situation quite peculiar.

Morgana let out a soft breath and closed her eyes, restarting their seclusion.

In the Celestial Demon Race throne room, Mo Zainan sat on the throne watching all the demons present before her, most of whom were her loyal supporters.

Behind Mo Zainan stood her three sons and two daughters, but she was oblivious to the change in attitude of her three sons and one of her daughters, all four of whom were completely loyal to Zhang Fei [5].

Mo Zainan decided to remove all of Mo Shentian’s subordinates and replace them with her own subordinates, which caused a huge commotion among the Celestial Demon Race.

Mo Zainan’s three sons and one daughter were not surprised by their mother’s decision, but the case was different with the youngest daughter, Mo Anqi.

Mo Anqi didn’t know yet that her mother, three siblings, and eldest sister were already under Zhang Fei [5]’s control, which made her confused by Mo Zainan’s sudden decision.

Mo Zainan ordered her subordinates to capture all of Mo Shentian’s subordinates, who would not submit to her. Mo Anqi was perplexed about her mother’s orders, and she turned to her four siblings, but they acted nonchalantly and supported her mother’s orders, which confused her.

After everything was settled, Mo Zainan finally officially became the new leader of the Celestial Demon Race, and all of her subordinates took control of their palace and demon race. Even so, her husband’s subordinates were still quite a lot in their demon race, and she ordered all her subordinates to capture them all.

Mo Zainan chose her confidants to replace her husband’s subordinates, and she asked one of them to activate their domain’s protective barrier so that other demon races could not invade their domain during the transition period.

Once everything was done, Mo Zainan left the throne room, followed by her two daughters. Meanwhile, her three sons took over her role as leaders of their demon race, and they monitored the transition process taking place within it.

”Mother, what happened to you? Why did you suddenly take this step? What if father comes back later? He will definitely be furious after finding out about your action, and he will undoubtedly lock you up in prison.” Mo Anqi said worriedly.

Mo Zainan looked at her youngest daughter and smiled at her, making Mo Anqi even more confused by her attitude. ”You don’t need to be afraid of your father, okay? Your father is trapped inside the tunnel to the Tri-Mortal Realm, and he won’t be back anytime soon. When he returns, our demon race will already be under my control, and he won’t be able to take it back from me. For hundreds of thousands of years, your father has never treated me well, and he has always regarded me as a tool to gain his status as our race’s demon god.”

”But—”

”Don’t worry, okay?” Mo Zainan caressed her second daughter’s face. ”I’m not doing this just for myself, but to protect the five of you. Your father never considered you his children, and he always treated you as his tools. However, everything will end today, and he won’t have a place to return to even if he manages to escape the tunnel to the mortal realm. From now on, the five of you can have your lives, and nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams. If anyone dares to stand in your way, those people will face me directly, and I will eliminate them for the sake of all your happiness.”

”Mother.” Mo Anqi hugged Mo Zainan. ”Are you sure my father will be trapped in that tunnel for a long time? Are you sure he won’t be able to get out of there and come back here?”

Mo Zainan hugged her youngest daughter back. ”Your father might be able to get out of that tunnel someday, but I’m sure he won’t be able to anytime soon. By the time he does, our demon race will be under my complete control, and he won’t have a place to return to. Even if he does, he won’t have anyone to help him, and I will fully protect the five of you, so you don’t have to worry about him. For now, you only need to think about yourself and your future, and I hope you get a better husband than your father.”

”Does that mean I can stop approaching Sha Huo, Mother?” Mo Anqi released her hug from Mo Zainan. ”I never liked that man, but my father insisted that Big Sister and I approach him.”

Mo Zainan nodded with a smile. ”For me, the happiness of the five of you is the most important thing, and I won’t force you to approach someone you never loved. I want you to live freely and find a man who suits your choices, and you can enjoy your life freely with him.”

”Really?”

”Really.”

Mo Anqi breathed a sigh of relief and patted her chest. ”I’m pleased with your decision, but I don’t have the right choice for a husband yet. For now, I just want to focus on my strengths, and I’ll find the right man to be my husband once I’m truly ready.”

”Haha.” Mo Zainan softly laughed. ”Anqi, strength is important, but marriage is also important, do you understand? If you find a man you like, you must bring him to me, and I will make sure that he is the right man to be your husband.”

Mo Anqi pursed her lips. ”Mother, I actually don’t want to have a husband who is a demon from other demon races, but I hope to find a husband from other races, for example, the human race.”

”Why don’t you like male demons?” Mo Zainan curiously asked.

”Even though I’m a demon myself, I don’t like demon men.” Mo Anqi let out a soft sigh and explained her hopes to Mo Zainan. ”I want a husband from another race, whether it’s human, demihuman, or beast. I know they hate our demon race because my father always causes trouble here and there, but I hope I can get a husband from one of those races.”

Mo Zainan thought about Zhang Fei [5]’s words. ”How about you try joining the Moonlit Passion Temple?”
