Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1351: The Lotus Two Souls

”Zhang Fei, we are the souls of the giant Yin-Yang Lotus.” The first man answered Zhang Fei, and his appearance looked calm and serene, with a calming aura. ”My name is Yang Lianhua.”

The second person looked like a female demon, but she was not literally a demon either. ”My name is Yin Lianhua, and we have been waiting for your arrival for a long time, Zhang Fei.”

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei looked at them suspiciously. ”Why are you two waiting for me?”

”We are waiting for you because you are the successor of the ten-tailed fox.” Both of them replied.

Zhang Fei frowned. ”Did the old fox ask you two to wait for me?”

”No.” Both of them shook their heads at Zhang Fei. ”We have never met the ten-tailed fox, nor do we have any connection with him.”

”Then?”

”We knew about you from something else, but we couldn’t explain anything to you.” Both people moved to either side of Zhang Fei and pointed ahead. ”People from the past called this domain the Yin-Yang Corridor Domain, the home of the giant Yin-Yang Lotus.”

”What exactly is the Yin-Yang Lotus? How could it be born in this domain?”

”The giant Yin-Yang Lotus is the embodiment of Yin and Yang in this universe.” Zhang Fei furrowed his brows, gazing at the distant lotus and the gathered crowd around it. ”Besides the lotus, there is one living being that was born from Yin and Yang, and he—”

”My predecessor, the ten-tailed fox, Hu Tianlang.”

”That’s right.” They nodded in response.

Yang Lianhua then spoke. ”Therefore, we waited for you to come here because you are his successor, and you will become the second living being to have a direct connection to Yin and Yang, especially after you evolve into the ten-tailed fox and inherit all his abilities.”

Even though he had accepted that, Zhang Fei chose not to say anything about it. ”Then, what was the use of this monastery in the past?”

”In the past, this monastery served as a link between the two worlds created by the giant Yin-Yang Lotus.” Yin Lianhua answered.

”Two worlds?”

Yang Lianhua answered Zhang Fei directly. ”The first world was born from Yang, and we call it the Lotus Luminous World.”

”The second world was born from Yin, and we call it the Lotus Limbo World.” Yin Lianhua added.

Zhang Fei nodded slightly. ”I’ve heard of the Lotus Limbo World, but I’ve never heard of the Lotus Luminous World. Moreover, someone told me that the Lotus Limbo World was created by one of the hidden powers in this universe as a prison, so the hidden power she meant was the giant Yin-Yang Lotus itself, right?”

”That’s right.” Both of them nodded at Zhang Fei. ”As we said before, the giant Yin-Yang Lotus is the embodiment of Yin and Yang in this universe, so it is indeed a part of them.”

Zhang Fei nodded slightly. ”So, what’s the Lotus Luminous World like?”

”Unlike the gloomy Lotus Limbo World, the Lotus Luminous World is much more cheerful and lively.” Since he had never been to either place, Zhang Fei couldn’t imagine them, but he already had an idea of the former from Feng Yao’s story. ”The Lotus Luminous World is a place where enlightened souls live, free from doubt and despair. They have the opportunity to be reincarnated, but they choose not to take that chance; instead, they prefer to live in that place because it is free from evil, burdens, and worldly emotions.”

”The world without evil, burdens, and worldly emotions, huh? Does such a place really exist?” Zhang Fei softly muttered.

”The Luminous Lotus World truly exists, and the lotus is the gateway to both places.”

Zhang Fei simply nodded to Yang Lianhua before asking again. ”If both worlds were created by the Yin-Yang Lotus, doesn’t that mean they aren’t real worlds? They exist because of the lotus, and they will disappear if the lotus disappears, right?”

”You’re wrong about that.” Yin Lianhua’s answer confused Zhang Fei. ”The Lotus Limbo World and the Lotus Luminous World exist because of the giant Yin-Yang Lotus, but they are still real worlds separate from this universe.”

”If these two worlds are separate from this universe, how can the souls of living beings enter them?” Zhang Fei was truly confused by this because Feng Yao had once told him that the Lotus Limbo World was a prison for those who tried to defy the wheel of reincarnation, so he felt that it didn’t make sense for the two worlds to be separate from the universe.

”We are indeed the souls of the giant Yin-Yang Lotus, but we don’t possess that much knowledge, so we have no answer to your question.” Yang Lianhua’s answer disappointed Zhang Fei. ”Anyways, a disturbance in the balance between Yin and Yang occurred long ago, and that event destroyed everything in this domain.”

”How could a disturbance in the balance between Yin and Yang occur?” Zhang Fei asked in shock.

Yin Lianhua sighed softly. ”We don’t know what happened at that time because we weren’t born yet, and we were born after the incident at that time.”

”After that incident, the giant Yin-Yang Lotus gave birth to the two of us to maintain the balance between Yin and Yang. Everything went smoothly, and Yin and Yang became balanced again to this day. Unfortunately, the lotus continued to weaken, which also affected us. We wouldn’t be able to maintain that balance if we became too weak.” Zhang Fei turned to Yang Lianhua. ”If that happens, the balance between Yin and Yang will completely disappear, and this universe will be destroyed.”

Yin Lianhua spoke again. ”The only one who can help us restore the balance is Hu Tianlang, but he has long been dead. Since you are his successor, you are our only hope now. Unfortunately, you haven’t yet gained all of your predecessor’s power, so you can’t help us yet.”

”I know that.” Zhang Fei naturally knew the limits of his strength, and he asked them another question. ”You two didn’t appear in front of me today just for small talk, did you? So, what can I do to strengthen the giant Yin-Yang Lotus?”

”You haven’t reached the level of your predecessors, but the Yang in your body is very high when compared with other male living beings, and you also have several women with high Yin in their bodies.” Zhang Fei raised an eyebrow at the two. ”We hope all of you will be willing to help us strengthen the lotus with Yin and Yang in your bodies.”

”How can we do that?”

”All of you only need to carry out dual-soul cultivation by uniting the white and black lotuses in your souls to form the true Yin-Yang Lotus, which is the embodiment of the giant Yin-Yang Lotus.” Yang Lianhua’s reply shocked Zhang Fei again. ”If you do that, the giant Yin-Yang Lotus will continue to gain your Yin and Yang, which will slowly strengthen it. If the lotus becomes strong again, both of us will also become strong, and we can maintain the balance.”

Zhang Fei looked at them in thought. ”If you two put it like that, the giant Ying-Yang Lotus intentionally created the Lotus Forbidden Codex, and you two gave it to Qing Qiu’er when she accidentally stepped into this domain.”

”So many people have entered this domain in the past, including the ancestors of the Luo Clan. Unfortunately, none of them managed to encounter the giant Yin-Yang Lotus, and Qing Qiu’er was the first to do so.” Zhang Fei nodded several times as he listened to them. ”Since she managed to meet the lotus at that time, we brought her into the lotus and imparted the Lotus Forbidden Codex to her, and we hoped she would find the right person to be her partner. In the end, our hopes were not in vain because she met you, and the two of you became a couple.”

”I guess this is all the work of fate. In the past, I was born as an ordinary human, and I didn’t know about cultivation or anything like that.” Zhang Fei let out a heavy sigh as he looked off into the distance. ”However, my life changed drastically on that fateful day, especially after that young girl accidentally killed me. She killed me, but she also repressed me, and she gave me a gift that changed me into what I am today. Without all that, I would never have met Qing Qiu’er, and your hopes would have ended in vain.”

”Yes.”

Zhang Fei looked at the two of them again. ”I can’t promise you anything, but I will try my best to help you by cultivating dual souls with all my wives as usual, and I hope our efforts will be enough to prevent the lotus from weakening.”

”Thank you.”

”No need.” Zhang Fei shook his head slightly. ”I agreed to help you not because you asked, but for myself and the people around me. If the balance between Yin and Yang disappears, this universe will perish, and I don’t want us to die just like that.”

Both of them nodded to Zhang Fei. ”For now, this is all we can share with you, and we must return to the lotus, so we will return you to your body now.”

”Alright.” Slowly the area faded from Zhang Fei’s sight.

When Zhang Fei opened his eyes, Luo Yunxiao and Jia Yuyan immediately questioned him. ”Are you okay, husband? What happened to you just now?”
