Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 982: Ju Xing - The Ancestor

Zhang Xiaolong [3] turned to Ren Xiyi. ”Why do you ask that?”

”Two days ago, I found Qian Shuang daydreaming alone in the garden, and she said that she was thinking about you. Although she didnʼt say anything, I could see that she was sad after I told her the number of your women.” Ren Xiyi looked at him. ”So, did you do something to her?”

Zhang Xiaolong [3] admitted it to her. ”That woman was quite interesting, so I did something to her. Actually, I didnʼt do it just because of her, but I also did it because of Qian Li.”

”Phew.” Ren Xiyi let out a soft sigh after she mentioned Qian Li. ”That guy is too stubborn because several people have already told him that I donʼt have a romantic relationship with you, but he still came to me two days ago and wanted to talk to me about you. I turned him down because he would never accept my explanation, so I would rather not waste my time with him.”

”Hahaha.” Zhang Xialong [3] laughed at that. ”That guy is so old, yet he behaves like a snotty brat. Does he think a woman will be interested in him if he is so possessive and overly jealous? Actually, I am overly possessive myself, but I have never forbidden any of my women from having normal communication with other men. In fact, many other men live with us, but they understand the situation and never think anything strange about my women.”

Ren Xiyi nodded in response. ”There are so many single men in our races, but none of them act like Qian Li. I liked him at first, but his behavior made me rethink everything, and my interest in him waned with each passing moment.”

”I donʼt want to pry into your business, but I think you should stay away from him. A man like him will only make your relationship toxic, and you will suffer if you marry him.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] then touched her head and shared some of his memories with her, particularly the moments when he was relaxing with all his women in the pavilion. ”You can watch my relationship with them.”

Ren Xiyi nodded slightly before closing her eyes, and she began to look at Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs memories one by one. She was amazed, jealous, and envious when she saw the beauty of Hu Yue and the others. However, she liked the closeness and togetherness between them, especially since they were like one big family and there was no seniority between them, allowing them to blend together peacefully.

”How is it? I didnʼt lie to you, right?”

Ren Xiyi nodded to Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”I originally thought they would often fight with each other since there were so many of them, but they were actually very close and harmonious, and their relationship was even closer than blood sisters. But how can they all be equally beautiful? Their beauty makes me jealous and envious, and I wish I could be as beautiful as them.”

”They were already beautiful by nature, and I made them even more beautiful.” Ren Xiyi looked at Zhang Xiaolong [3] with a pleading look, but he smiled and pinched her cheeks, causing her to blush. ”I can help you become more beautiful, but I wonʼt do it now. If your appearance suddenly changes, Qian Li will become even more possessive, and he might do something crazy to get you.”

Ren Xiyi pouted her lips, but she understood what Zhang Xiaolong [3] meant, so she didnʼt force her desire to become beautiful. ”Why did you come here all of a sudden? Do you want to meet our leader?”

”Actually, I came today to meet your ancestor, but I canʼt possibly meet him by myself, so I will meet Jia Yuyan first.” Ren Xiyi was surprised to hear about the purpose of Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs arrival. ”I know about him from your father, especially about his condition. I might be able to do something for him, and he could help me if those strong people attack me.”

Ren Xiyi nodded in understanding. ”For now, only our leader and the other elders can go to the Life Pond, especially since our ancestorʼs condition continues to worsen. Our elder said that he wonʼt be able to survive much longer, and he will probably die in another five to ten years.”

”I donʼt know if I can really help him, but I want to try first.” They then continued their journey, discussing light topics.

Sometime later, Zhang Xiaolong [3] had arrived at Jia Yuyanʼs hut, but Ren Xiyi didnʼt join him, and she went to Qian Shuangʼs place instead.

”Why are you here?” Jia Yuyan asked as she walked out.

”Bring me to the life pond.” Jia Yuyan frowned because of Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs request. ”Donʼt you want to cure that person? I donʼt know whether my method will work or not, but thereʼs no harm in trying it first, right? If I can cure him, heʼll be a valuable reinforcement if those old fogeys suddenly come out of their seclusion.”

”All right, Iʼll take you to see that person.” Jia Yuyan then contacted the other elders to meet them at the Life Pond, especially since she needed everyone to open the place. ”Letʼs go now.”

Zhang Xiaolong [3] immediately followed Jia Yuyan. ”Hey, can I bring my natural race friends from the Sky Jade Realm here?”

”Oh?” Jia Yuyan naturally remembered the fairy forest in that realm. ”Do you really want to bring them all here?”

”Yes.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] nodded at her. ”Even though I donʼt have a close relationship with most of them, they have already recognized me as their leader, so I have to be responsible for them, right? I didnʼt bring them to the Nine Stars Realm because that realm is very dangerous, but the situation here should be safer with you here, so I want to bring them here. Moreover, all the formations in this forest separate it from the outside, so Tian Jingxuan and the others shouldnʼt be aware of their presence, right?”

”Thatʼs right.” Jia Yuyan replied with a nod. ”I think itʼs fine if you bring them here, and you can also bring their leaders that you left behind in the Evergreen Spirit Haven Realm here.”

Zhang Xiaolong [3] was relieved by that. ”Iʼll use one of my clones to meet them first, and Iʼll bring them all here after we finish our business.”

”All right.”

A while later, they had arrived at the location of the Life Pond, where Ju Tan and the others were waiting for them. However, some of them seemed reluctant for Zhang Xiaolong [3] to enter their sacred area, especially the old elf, Qian Chaoying.

Jia Yuyan immediately spoke to him. ”Chaoying, you should understand your ancestorʼs situation, right? I came from the Paradise Realm, but I canʼt heal him with my healing abilities. I donʼt know if Zhang Xiaolongʼs method will work, but we should still try everything possible to heal him, and our strength will increase if he really succeeds in healing him.”

”I understand.” Qian Chaoying and the other elders immediately took out their respective devices and activated them. In a few moments, the barrier that covered the area disappeared quickly, revealing a stunning landscape with the Life Pond at its center.

ʼThe natural energy in this pond is incredibly powerful! No wonder itʼs called the Life Pond.ʼ Zhang Xiaolong [3] tried to absorb the natural energy in that place, but Jia Yuyan immediately asked him to stop because it would disturb the ancestor. ”Letʼs meet him now, and Iʼll try some ways to cure him.”

”Hmm?” Zhang Xiaolong [3] was slightly surprised as he looked at the old man meditating within the Life Pond. His appearance was like an elf, but his body was big and sturdy like a giant. ʼScan him, Mei.ʼ

ʼA mixed breed between an elf and a giant, huh?ʼ Zhang Xiaolong [3] muttered to himself. ʼWhat exactly happened to him, Mei? Old Ren previously said that his lifespan was almost exhausted, but it was still quite long. However, his condition is awful, and he keeps getting weaker like this.ʼ

Qian Chaoying wanted to ask Zhang Xiaolong [3], but Jia Yuyan stopped him, especially since he was seriously observing Ju Xing. The other elders were also curious whether he could cure their ancestor or not, but they still waited patiently.

Sensing their presence, Ju Xing finally opened his dull eyes, and his gaze fell directly on Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”Youʼre a human, a heavenly fox, and a demon. You are the man we have been waiting for all this time. Young man, you should not waste your time thinking about me; instead, focus on yourself, as many living beings have been waiting for your arrival for a long time.”

”Canʼt do it, Old Xing.” Jia Yuyan and the others were surprised to hear that Zhang Xiaolong [3] knew the manʼs name, especially since they had not told him about it. ”What happened in the first place for your condition to decline like this? Based on your situation, it is clear that the cause is not natural; I am certain that something or someone has caused your condition to deteriorate like this.”

”Is that true, Ancestor? What exactly happened to you?” Ju Tan asked Ju Xing.

Qian Chaoying also spoke to him. ”Ancestor, please tell us the truth, and we will find a way to heal you. The situation in this realm is not as favorable as it was in the past, and many greedy cultivators want to destroy us. Therefore, we need you to help us, and we will protect our young generation together.”

Zhu Ru, Jing Shenlin, and the other elders joined forces to persuade Ju Xing to reveal the truth, as he appeared reluctant to do so.

Jia Yuyan also joined them. ”Old man, you are too selfish if you think about dying, especially since there are still so many young people from our natural races in this realm. You should already know about those old fogies, and you know that we have no ability to protect them. Therefore, we hope that you can tell us the truth, and we will together think of the best way to cure you.”

”Hmm?” All of them turned to Zhang Xiaolong [3] once the light female winged-race figure appeared behind him. ”A winged race?”

Instead of answering their questions, Ju Xing directed his inquiry to Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”How did you create such a thing, young man? Did you use your light element to create this woman?”

ʼDid you manage to find something strange inside his body, Mei?ʼ

[Master, there is something inside his dantian, Master. I canʼt examine it too deeply, but I think it is the cause of his weakened condition, so you should get rid of it first.]

”Yeah.” The female figure enveloped Ju Xingʼs body, and Zhang Xiaolong [3] channeled his light element into his body to improve his condition. ”Old Xing, tell me what kind of thing is in your dantian, especially since it makes you keep weakening like this.”

Jia Yuyan and the others stared at Ju Xing in shock, but he paid them no attention. ”How did you know about that, young man?”

”Thatʼs not important now.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] looked at him. ”Iʼm confident that I can cure you and restore your condition to normal, but I want to know more details about that thing first.”
