Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 952: Fightning Xereth

*Swoosh... Swoosh...*

The two ancient beasts immediately moved in front of Zhang Fei. ”Youʼve finally reached this stage, kid.”

”Yeah.” Zhang Fei nodded at Tian Kui. ”My journey isnʼt over yet, and the Paradise Realm is waiting for me. After this, Iʼll take them to the Star Tower, and Iʼll send one of my clones to the Sovereign Heaven Realm. Would you two like to join us in the tower?”

”No.” Serpentera immediately refused. ”Since the people in the tower come from the Paradise Realm, they will definitely recognize me and Old Kuiʼs identities, and we will only bring harm to you.”

Zhang Fei was aware of this situation and did not fully trust the people in the Star Tower; therefore, he decided against bringing Serpentera and Tian Kui to the tower. ”Guys, I think I have one way to get rid of that demon, but I need the help of you two.”

”Tell us.”

”I will send you two to my beast space, but one of you must take me to Xerethʼs location first.” Serpentera and Tian Kui exchanged confused glances, prompting Zhang Fei to explain to them. ”By borrowing the power of you two, my strength will surpass that demon, and I am confident in defeating him.”

”Send me there first.”

Zhang Fei immediately sent Tian Kui into the beast space before activating the Soul Connect III, causing Serpenteraʼs eyes to widen. ”How did you do it, Kid? Your strength suddenly became on par with Old Kuiʼs.”

”I canʼt explain the details to you, but I was able to borrow all the power of the beasts inside my beast space, and that was the reason I was able to defeat those beast ancestors back then.” Zhang Fei raised both hands and clenched his fists. ”With this power, I am confident that I can defeat Xereth. However, I am worried that he will summon Taotieʼs avatar, and I will be the one to die if that happens.”

Serpentera nodded in agreement. ”Taotieʼs strength should be on par with the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon Emperor, so his strength is far above mine and Old Kuiʼs. Even if he only sends his avatar, you still wonʼt be able to defeat him. Moreover, his abilities are far more terrifying than you can imagine, and you will surely die if you fight him.”

Zhang Fei sent all the women back to the training space along with his three clones, and he sent all the beasts back to the beast space. Meanwhile, his fifth clone went to another realm to meet Feng Xishui, and his third clone went to the Sovereign Heaven Realm.

In the training space, Zhang Feiʼs three clones did not dual cultivate with their partners, but instead, they started their training using level five of the gravity feature, which made the gravity thirty-two times heavier than in the outside world.

”Do you really want to face that demon now?” Serpentera asked in a serious tone.

Zhang Fei nodded at him. ”The only danger left in the three mortal realms is Xereth, and weʼve let him roam free for too long. Therefore, I want to get rid of him as soon as possible, and I can focus on my personal affairs afterwards. If he really summons Taotieʼs avatar, I will immediately escape from that realm.”

”In that case, I will take you to that realm now, and you can send me into your beast space afterwards.” Serpentera immediately grabbed Zhang Feiʼs shoulder. ”However, you must not force yourself, and you must escape if Xereth summons Taotieʼs avatar.”

”Yeah.”

Sometime later, the two of them had arrived in that realm, and Zhang Fei immediately sent Serpentera into the beast space before activating the Soul Link to borrow the power of all the beasts living in it. ʼCan you measure my current strength, Mei?ʼ

[Unfortunately, the system still doesnʼt have clear information about the strength of the Five Celestial Realms, but your strength should be several major stages above Xerethʼs, and you will have no difficulty defeating him.]

Zhang Fei gave a light nod and summoned the Demon Extermination Sword. He rubbed the blade of the sword and spoke to the two female spirits. ”Heiʼan and Guangʼan, the enemy who destroyed your family is right in front of us now. I donʼt know if we will be able to kill Xereth today, but we will try to fight him now.”

Zing... Zing... Zing...

Zhang Fei immediately used his senses, which had been strengthened by the power of the beasts, especially Serpentera and Tian Kui, to search for Xereth.

Once he found the demon, Zhang Fei canceled the Soul Link to prevent Xereth from escaping. He transformed into his demon form and disappeared from the spot.

.

.

.

Xereth, who was taking cover and meditating under the barrier, twitched his eyes, especially when he sensed Zhang Feiʼs presence. He opened his eyes and looked up at the sky, but his expression immediately changed as the barrier shattered into pieces.

Xereth immediately flew into the sky and took out his black scythe, but his eyes immediately fell on the Demon Extermination Sword in Zhang Feiʼs hand, making him realize his identity. ”So, you are the brat who messed up my plans in the Blue Water Realm, and you are also the one who attacked me in secret in the Starry Sky Realm.”

Zhang Fei said nothing and activated the Soul Link once again, shocking Xereth. He didnʼt give the demon a chance to escape, and he channeled his light element into his sword before attacking him.

ʼFuck! How did his strength suddenly surpass mine?ʼ Xereth tried to block his attack, but Zhang Fei instantly teleported behind him and stabbed his sword forward, which pierced straight through his back to the chest. ”Gahh!”

Unfortunately, Xereth managed to shift a little, which caused Zhang Feiʼs attack to miss his vital organs.

Xereth swung his black scythe behind him, but Zhang Fei quickly pulled his sword out and teleported, causing his attack to strike empty air. ʼWhat the hell is with his technique? Isnʼt that the technique of the heavenly fox?ʼ

Just as Xereth was thinking that, Zhang Fei reappeared in front of him and swung his sword with great speed and precision, slashing his chest directly.

”Argh!” Xereth hurriedly flew away from him, but Zhang Fei disappeared from his sight once again. He used his darkness to protect himself, but he forgot that his enemy was also a demon, rendering his darkness useless against him.

Zhang Fei instantly appeared behind Xereth and swung his sword towards his neck, but a small darkness barrier suddenly appeared and blocked his attack. He quickly moved his target, slashed his arms, and severed both in a matter of seconds.

Splurt... Splurt...

Black blood gushed out from both of Xerethʼs severed arms, causing him to scream in pain. ”Arghh!”

Zhang Fei immediately chased after Xereth, who was trying to escape from him. He frowned when he saw both of his arms grow back, as he never expected that the demon had the ability to regrow his severed limbs.

Zhang Fei teleported above Xereth and tried to slash at his neck once again, but another small darkness barrier protected his neck again, causing him to fail to land his attack.

Xereth took advantage of that to accelerate his speed, and he quickly flew very far away from Zhang Fei. Despite this, he repeatedly looked back, thinking of ways to escape. ʼHeh! You are strong, but you will never be able to kill me as long as my head and body are still together!ʼ

ʼSo, his main weakness is his neck, huh? Otherwise, he wouldnʼt protect it that tightly, right?ʼ Zhang Fei inwardly muttered as he thought of a way to behead Xereth.

[Master, this demon can indeed regenerate his body, but I believe his regeneration ability has a limit. Therefore, you must use your maximum speed and cut his body until he reaches his limit, and he will not be able to regenerate anymore.]

ʼYeah, youʼre right.ʼ Zhang Fei immediately activated all his elements, and he used all his techniques based on those elements. He summoned an annihilation flame, a hellflame frost lotus, a giant ice sword, a wind vortex, a giant light arrow, and a lightning tribulation, all of which attacked Xereth.

Xerethʼs expression changed to shock after he saw attacks from various different elements, but he quickly threw a few defensive artifacts to protect himself from Zhang Feiʼs attacks.

Unfortunately, Zhang Feiʼs current strength far surpassed Xerethʼs, and all his defensive artifacts began to crack, causing him to panic. ʼShit! I have no other choice! If I donʼt use it, Iʼll die by his hands!ʼ

Zhang Fei, who wanted to attack Xereth immediately, stopped when he felt the powerful aura from the sky. He wasted no time in opening a portal and disappearing into it directly, especially since the demon had clearly summoned Taotieʼs avatar, causing all his attacks to disappear instantly.

In a few minutes, Taotieʼs avatar descended into that realm, forcing Xereth to kneel in mid-air. ”Hmm? What happened to you? Why are you in a mess like this? I can feel that your strength is no more than ten percent.”

”Master, there is a powerful demon brat in the three mortal realms, and the demon extermination sword is in his hand. He just attacked me, and I would have definitely died at his hand if I hadnʼt summoned your avatar.” Taotie immediately read Xerethʼs memories, causing him to shiver in fear. ”Apart from him, the Abyssal Leviathan Demon also came out of hiding some time ago, and there is another demon beast whose strength surpasses mine. Those two demon beasts always interfere with my plans and kill all my men, making me unable to carry out your duties.”

”Hmm?” Taotieʼs expression turned serious as soon as he witnessed their battle just now, especially when he saw Zhang Fei use several different elements to attack Xereth. ʼHow is this possible? Since when did a living creature have so many elements? Moreover, he has light and darkness elements, as well as fire and ice elements.ʼ ”Who is that demon boy?”

Xereth shook his head at Taotie. ”I donʼt have any information about him, but heʼs no ordinary demon, and he can also use the heavenly foxʼs abilities. Just before your avatar appeared, he escaped through a gate, just like the incident back then.”

”I donʼt care how you do it; I want you to find out more detailed information about that demon brat, and you must capture him for me.” Xereth wanted to refute Taotie, but the immortal beast glared at him fiercely. He immediately shot something into the demonʼs body, which made his strength fully recover. ”I donʼt care if you die because I can send someone else to replace you, and I will kill you myself if you dare to summon my avatar for something useless again.”

After he said that, Taotie disappeared from the demonʼs sight, and Xereth stood in the air rubbing his forehead. ”Shit! All my plans are in disarray because of that little bastard and the two demon beasts! Iʼm sure the three of them are working together, and the two demon beasts are deliberately lending their strength to him. However, Iʼm confused about how they could do it, especially since Iʼve never heard of anyone being able to borrow someone elseʼs strength.”

Xereth let out a heavy sigh and looked outside the realm, thinking of a way to find information about Zhang Fei.

”Where should I find that little bastard? I donʼt even know anything about his origin, so I have no clue how to find information about him.” Xereth suddenly remembered their fight in the Starry Sky Realm. ”He has connections with people from the Xianjin Realm, so they should know about his true identity. However, they must have prepared to welcome my arrival, and the two demon beasts will probably protect the people for him.”

After he thought of some plans, Xereth immediately flew away to leave the realm. However, he suddenly summoned his black scythe and attacked the realm to vent his frustration, which caused great destruction to the realm. ”After I get new subordinates, I will immediately attack the Xianjin Realm.”

.

.

.

Meanwhile, Zhang Fei had arrived at the Phoenix Realm to pick up several people, and he went to the Xianjin Realm after sending Feng Xueying, Xian Lianghua, and Xue Jingling to the Nine Stars Realm, but he left Feng Shen there.

In the Xianjin Realm, Zhang Fei did not meet Zhe Wuming and the others, but instead, he summoned Serpentera and Tian Kui out of the beast space. He asked the two ancient demon beasts to protect the realm, especially since he had a hunch that Xereth would attack the realm.

Serpentera and Tian Kui immediately agreed with that, but they didnʼt expect that Zhang Fei still failed to defeat Xereth, even though he had borrowed the power of them and the beasts in the beast space.

After that, Zhang Fei went to several realms to pick up his acquaintances, and he took all of them to the Star Tower in the Nine Stars Realm. He did not forget the people from the Xian Imperial Sect, such as Ximen Chuixue and the others.

When they arrived there, Zhang Fei summoned everyone out of the training space because the rewards from the tower were valuable, so he wanted them to challenge the tower.

When the others began to test their strength on the stone obelisk, Zhang Fei led some of those who had already challenged the tower to enter it, especially since they no longer needed to test their strength.

As soon as they entered the tower, the old man and his three disciples immediately appeared in front of them, and their expressions became serious as soon as they detected Zhang Feiʼs cultivation.

The old man immediately spoke. ”The last time we met was a little over two years ago, and your cultivation had just broken through to the Heaven Realm at that time, but you have already reached the 1-Moon Divine Transcend Realm now.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei laughed at that. ”Old Man, I got help from several people, including a great alchemist. If it werenʼt for them, I wouldnʼt have reached this stage today. By the way, I know the challenger limit is only one hundred, but I have brought dozens of people outside, and I hope you can let them in here if they can pass the strength test.”

”You—”

”Meiʼer.” The old man stopped Hua Meiʼer. ”Are you that eager to go to our realm?”

Zhang Fei nodded at the old man. ”My strength has already surpassed people in the three mortal realms, and my cultivation will be too slow if I continue to stay here, so my best choice is to go to the Paradise Realm as soon as possible.”

”I see.” The old man nodded in understanding. ”All right, I will allow them to enter this tower if they pass the strength test.”

”But, master—”

”I will bear the risk, Meiʼer.” Hua Meiʼer looked annoyed because the old man kept giving special treatment to Zhang Fei.

Unlike her, Sima Yun and Helian Xunʼer could understand their masterʼs decision, especially since Zhang Feiʼs strength and progress were too terrifying even for cultivators from the Paradise Realm like them.

The old man waved his hand, and the situation on the first floor changed significantly. ”I allow them to enter this tower, but I will not let them pass the tests easily, and they will have to struggle even harder to pass them.”

”Hehe.” Zhang Fei chuckled. ”I have no problem with that, and they will definitely pass those tests.”

”A braggart!” Hua Meiʼer shouted at Zhang Fei, but her heart pounded as soon as he used his demon charm on her, making her panic and immediately disappear from there.

The old man raised his eyebrows slightly but didnʼt say anything about it. ”I wonʼt allow you to help them, and you can go directly to the second floor to undergo the tests there.”

”Sure!” The old man and his two disciples immediately disappeared. Zhang Fei then turned to the others, such as Xian Changyue and a few others. ”Letʼs go to the second floor and let them challenge the first floor themselves.”

”Are you sure itʼs okay if we leave them?” Yun Xinyue asked him.

Zhang Fei nodded in response. ”Theyʼve changed a lot in the past few years, so I believe theyʼll be fine.”
