Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 973: The Outcast

”The near extinction of the giant race is related to the disaster that happened in Ju Potianʼs era.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] adopted a serious expression after Jia Yuyan mentioned the disaster, particularly because he had always been interested in events from the distant past. ”In fact, the disaster affected all living races in this universe and nearly led to their extinction.”

”Do you know anything about that disaster?”

”No.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] was disappointed with Jia Yuyanʼs answer. ”Hey! Ju Potian was the first giant race born in this universe, okay? The disaster happened a long time ago, and many eras have passed since then. As you already know, history changes with each era, and many old records are lost because of it, so no one knows for sure about that disaster.”

Zhang Xiaolong [3] nodded in agreement with that. ”So, how did the giant race almost become extinct?”

”Sigh.” Jia Yuyan then continued. ”After the disaster, all races began to gradually reorganize everything, and almost all races produced many new individuals with extraordinary talents, including the giant race. However, the history before the disaster was still fresh in their memories, and they remembered how terrifying the strength of Ju Potian and Ju Zhutian was. They saw the giant race as a threat and banded together to eliminate them before they became as powerful as their ancestors. Their massacre lasted for several eras until they were almost extinct, but your predecessor stopped it and saved them. Otherwise, the giant race would have long been extinct from this universe.”

”Their stupidity and cowardice are simply disgraceful.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] furiously shouted. ”If they are so afraid of death and pressure, they should strive hard to strengthen themselves instead of blaming other races for their weakness. People like them donʼt deserve to live, and I would exterminate them if I had the power, especially since they would endanger the people closest to me!”

Jia Yuyan chose not to comment on that and continued directly. ”The people who slaughtered the giant race came from the human, demon, beast, and winged races. After your predecessor saved them, he relocated the rest of them to my domain. His arrival in my domain is tied to my raceʼs history and that of other natural races, but I wonʼt discuss it now because itʼs too long, and you only need to know he saved all the natural races. Unfortunately, he chose to descend to the Three Mortal Realms and died here, but we never knew his reasons for doing so. He only left the writings about his successor, and we have been waiting for his appearance ever since.”

”I am not surprised that the human and beast races would do such a thing, especially since most of them have high arrogance and feel that they are the greatest. But how could the winged race be willing to unite with the demon race to slaughter the giant race?” Jia Yuyan simply shook her head in response to Zhang Xiaolong [3], indicating that she did not know the answer herself. ”Speaking of disaster, I just remembered something, and those people should be in this realm.”

”Which people are you referring to?”

”People from a planet called Earth in the lower realms”

”Oh! I know them!” Jia Yuyan clasped her hands. ”They lived on that planet thousands of years ago, and they were quite powerful for people from the lower realms. The battle of the four races led to the destruction of their realm and the disappearance of Qi, prompting them to leave their planet and wander for a long time before eventually reaching the upper realms, with many arriving in this realm by accident. Why do you ask about them?”

”I was born and grew up on that planet.” Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs answer confused Jia Yuyan. ”I donʼt need to lie to you, right? I became who I am today because of an accident and luck, but I wonʼt explain the details to you. So, where do those people live now? Iʼm not concerned about the others, but I want to meet one of them.”

”The outcast, right?”

”Yes.”

Jia Yuyan immediately pulled Zhang Xiaolong [3] out, flew him into the sky, and pointed out a direction. ”See that area? Those people live in isolation there, and Han Ling lives east of that area, in a small hut by the river.”

”Han Ling, huh?” Zhang Xiaolong [3] immediately opened the map to check the area, and he found the outcast living alone there. ”Doesnʼt he have a family?”

”Actually, Han Ling has a wife and two children, and his two children already have several generations of descendants.” Jia Yuyanʼs answer made Zhang Xiaolong frown, and his face darkened. ”The people of that realm hated him because he destroyed their realm, and they shunned him. His wife and two children chose to leave him because they didnʼt want to suffer with him, and he has never had any contact with anyone since then.”

”Do his wife and all his descendants live there?”

”No.” Jia Yuyan then pointed in another direction. ”After she left him, Jiang Liushu took their two children to that city, where she met the young master of the Yang Clan, Yang Shan, who was attracted to her. They eventually married, and her two children changed their surnames to Yang. Since then, all of their descendants have become members of that clan, and they have significant influence in that clan.”

Anger consumed Zhang Xiaolong [3], turning his face red and black and clenching his fists tightly. ”What a traitorous bitch and children! I hate traitors so much! If I were in that old manʼs position, I would kill Jiang Liushu and their two children with my own hands.”

Jia Yuyan moved away from Zhang Xiaolong [3] as soon as his body was enveloped in a cold and deathly black aura, which came from his cursed demon heart. ʼWhat is happening? Where did this evil aura come from? This black aura makes my scalp and the hair on my neck tingle.ʼ

Zhang Xiaolong [3] hurriedly calmed himself down and suppressed his anger, making it disappear again. He then turned to Tian Jiantang and Qing Yun, who had just arrived at his residence. ”I have urgent business with Jia Yuyan, and we must leave now.”

Without waiting for their reply, Zhang Xiaolong [3] immediately grabbed Jia Yuyanʼs shoulder and used his nine cloud steps to go to Han Lingʼs residence.

Both men fell dumbstruck for quite some time before Qing Yun spoke to Tian Jiantang. ”Brother Tian, his speed is much faster than when I competed with him in the battle test!”

”Even Uncle Qingʼs speed is not comparable to his current speed.” Tian Jiantang realized something. ”Isnʼt that the area where the isolated people live?

Qing Yun nodded at him. ”Why did he go to that area? Did he want to meet them? Why did he do that?”

”I donʼt know.” Tian Jiantang then walked away. ”He wonʼt like it if we interfere in his affairs, so we should go home now to train.”

”Yeah.”

.

.

.

ʼThis kid! How could the speed be this fast? He hasnʼt even gone to the Paradise Realm, but his speed is already incredible, and he is the fastest cultivator in the Three Mortal Realms!ʼ Jia Yuyan muttered in shock as soon as they arrived at the river not far from where Han Ling lived.

Zhang Xiaolong [3] looked at Han Ling as he spoke to Jia Yuyan. ”You shouldnʼt be surprised by my speed, right? After all, your speed should be much higher than mine, especially since the gravity in the Paradise Realm is extremely heavy.”

”How do you train your speed?”

”Secret.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] immediately brought her to land behind the old man, who was fishing in the river. ʼI canʼt sense his aura and presence at all!ʼ

”Why did you bring a stranger here, Senior Yuyan?” Han Ling softly asked.

Zhang Xialong [3] stopped Jia Yuyan and approached Han Ling, but an aura blocked him. ”Senior, my name is Zhang Fei, and my home realm is the Earth. I know you live here, so I asked her to bring me to you.”

”Hmm?” Han Ling immediately turned to Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”Did you really come from the Earth?”

”Yes.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] took out a device and turned it on, causing many recordings to appear before them. ”These recordings are the current Earth. Although it was once almost destroyed, it has been completely recovered, and many eras have passed since then. The current Earth is already very advanced, and they donʼt need Qi to live their lives; instead, they use a lot of technology that doesnʼt exist in your era.”

Han Ling didnʼt say anything to Zhang Xiaolong [3], and he watched all the footage that appeared in front of them. ”The Earth has changed so much, huh? I only saw those in the Xianjin Realm, but theyʼre more advanced than Earthʼs.”

”Haha.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] laughed at that. ”You are right; the technology on Earth is indeed less advanced than in the Xianjin Realm. Are you interested in visiting the Earth, Old Han?”

”Yes.” Han Ling nodded in response. ”The destruction of that time was my responsibility, and it haunted my heart even after several thousand years had passed. I hope to visit the Earth once again to seek peace of mind, but I have nothing now, and the distance between the two realms is simply too far.”

Zhang Xiaolong [3] smiled at him. ”If you want to visit the Earth, I can take you there right now. This way, you can witness the Earthʼs changes firsthand and achieve the peace of mind youʼve long yearned for.”

”Can you really take me to the Earth now?” Han Ling asked in disbelief.

”Little Han, this kid is a heavenly fox, and he has the ability to move realms easily.” Jia Yuyan then spoke to Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”Open the gate now; I will join you two.”

”Sure.”

A while later, they were already standing in the sky on Earth, but Zhang Xiaolong [3] was always annoyed whenever he went there because all the countries kept cutting down the trees that Janette and Lillea had intentionally grown to clean the air there. ”Damn it! I really want to kill these idiots! My two wives have been working hard to make this planet green again, but these idiots keep destroying everything!”

”Arenʼt humans just like that? They possess technology and many modern conveniences, which makes them increasingly unappreciative of nature.” Jia Yuyanʼs tone also sounded frustrated, especially since the elf race was very close to nature.

Unlike them, Han Ling stood in the air with her body trembling violently, and tears flowed down freely from her worn eyes. He wiped his tears, and a relieved smile appeared on his old face. ”Even though this planet has changed a lot after thousands of years, I can still recognize it. I am truly relieved and grateful that this planet still exists and civilization has advanced so much compared to my era.”

”This way, you donʼt have to regret or blame yourself anymore, right?” Zhang Xiaolong [3] asked him.

”The burden and regret in my heart have disappeared now, but I still regret a little that these people can no longer become cultivators due to the disappearance of the Qi.” Han Ling suddenly realized something and looked at Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”How can you become a cultivator if you were born and grew up on this planet?”

”Sorry, old man. Thatʼs my secret, so I canʼt tell you, but I was truly born and grew up on this planet.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] immediately enveloped them with his aura. ”If you donʼt believe me, Iʼll take you two to my old home.”

.

A while later, they had arrived in front of Zhang Chenʼs house, and Zhang Xiaolong [3] led the two of them inside, where Han Ling and Jia Yuyan saw many photos of him and his family. ”The old woman is my grandmother, Zhang Chen. The man is my father, but I have long since disowned him as such. The four women are my mother, my two sisters, and my grandmotherʼs adoptive daughter.”

”Is that you?” Jia Yuyan pointed to one photo.

”Isnʼt that obvious?” Zhang Xiaolong [3] took his photo. ”I took this photo a month before I became a cultivator, and Iʼve changed a lot since then. Back then, my body was already strong enough for a normal human, and it became much stronger after I became a body cultivator.”

”How many body cultivation techniques have you learned?” Han Ling asked him.

”Five techniques, and four of them have reached peak level.” Unlike Han Ling, Jia Yuyan was shocked by Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs confession, especially since normal body cultivators typically learn only one technique. ”Actually, I still want to look for some other body techniques, especially those with affinity to my elements. This way, not only can I increase my body strength, but I can also increase my elemental strength.”

”Youʼre a lunatic!” Jia Yuyan exclaimed after hearing that. ”How can you have so much time to study all those techniques?”

”Haha.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] teased her. ”You have been stalking me for over three years, remember, my lovely stalker? You should remember some of my abilities, right?”

”Iʼm not a stalker!” Han Ling smiled faintly, listening to their bickering. ”I forgot that you have five clones, and this one is definitely your clone!”

”Smart!” Zhang Xiaolong [3] admitted it. ”The Sovereign Heaven Realm is still too dangerous for me, so I wonʼt bring my real body there. If I feel threatened, I can just escape from there. If I run into a dead end and canʼt escape, I just need to cancel this clone, and no one can catch me.”

Jia Yuyan nodded in agreement. ”Some techniques and artifacts can prevent you from using your gate abilities, but none can stop you from dispelling your clone, making your choice to send it there the best decision. Where is your main body?”

”My main body is challenging the Star Tower with all my wives, family, and friends.”

”Oh.”

”Whatʼs your element?” Zhang Xiaolong [3] looked at Han Ling. ”I have a body technique with water element affinity, and I can teach it to you if you have the element.”

”Hahaha!” Zhang Xiaolong [3] laughed loudly and used his water element directly. ”What a coincidence that you possess the water body cultivation technique, Old Han!”

”How many elements do you actually have now?” Jia Yuyan curiously asked.

Zhang Xiaolong [3] immediately answered her. ”Light, darkness, and fire are my basic elements. However, I managed to find water, ice, lightning, and wind elemental seeds. Some people helped me get those four elements, so I have seven elements now.”

”Sigh.” Jia Yuyan sighed heavily. ”I shouldnʼt have asked you that, and your absurdity makes me even more afraid of you.”

Han Ling nodded in agreement with her. ”I have met a cultivator who possessed three elements, and he was the leader of the Xianjin Realm, but this is the first time I have met a possessor of seven elements.”

”The Nameless One, right?” Han Ling nodded to Zhang Xiaolong [3] before touching his forehead and sharing his technique. ”The Ocean Flesh Scripture?”

”Yes.” Han Ling then explained to Zhang Xiaolong [3] about the technique, including the basics for mastering it. ”There is a secret pond in the eastern forest, and you can learn it faster there.”

Zhang Xiaolong [3] turned to Jia Yuyan, who immediately told him. ”Itʼs the Life Pond, but it was used by someone to preserve his life, so you canʼt go there.”

”I see.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] nodded in understanding. ”Old Ren has already told me about that person, so I wonʼt force myself to go there, and I will train somewhere else. By the way, letʼs go back now, especially since the time flow on this planet is four times slower.”

”Yeah, letʼs go back.”

After they arrived at the riverbank in the Sovereign Heaven Realm, Han Ling immediately asked Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”Do you want to be my disciple? Iʼm not as strong as Senior Yuyan, but I can teach you some great techniques, including the one I used in the past.”

”Eh?” Zhang Xiaolong [3] was momentarily taken aback. ”Whatʼs the name of that technique?”
