Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 957: Strength And Speed

ʼThis guy is truly shameless! How can we possibly fight a dragon with strength equal to our leader?ʼ Those cultivators grumbled in their hearts, but they suddenly heard Tian Jingxuanʼs voice in their minds, and they immediately rushed out of the room.

Zhang Xiaolong [3] smiled amusedly as he patted Long Jiuxiaoʼs shoulder. ”I should have summoned you earlier so I wouldnʼt have had to fight them. especially since they were scared of you and fled immediately.”

ʼThis bastard! I am the mighty sky dragon, but he treats me like his pet.ʼ Zhang Xiaolong [3] rushed to the last room, forcing Long Jiuxiao to follow him.

When they arrived at the last room, Zhang Xiaolong [3] only saw two men standing in the middle of the room, and their cultivation was at the 1-Moon Divine Ascension Realm. Although the two of them saw Long Jiuxian, they did not run away like the cultivators in the next room.

”Junior brother, you can send your contract beast back, and we will fight one on one without using cultivation.” Tian Jiantang calmly spoke. ”Oh, I apologize for not introducing myself earlier; my name is Tian Jiantiang from the Tian Clan.”

Long Jiuxiao was furious that Tian Jiantang had referred to him as a contract beast, but Zhang Xiaolong [3] immediately sent him back into the beast space. ”The Tian Clan, huh? So you are a direct descendant of Tian Kongquan, eh?”

”Oh?” Tian Jiantang was surprised by that. ”How did you know the name of my ancestor? In fact, he was the main founder of this realm, but he died long ago.”

”I know it.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] replied with a nod. ”I heard about your ancestor from someone very close to him, but that person is no longer around.”

”Please tell me the identity of that person.”

”Qing Peng.” Tian Jiantang and the other man were shocked to hear that name from Zhang Xiaolong [3], especially since they knew that he was Tian Kongquanʼs beast contract. ”Itʼs up to you whether you want to believe me or not, but I met him once about a year and a half ago. So, who is your friend?”

”My name is Qing Yun from the Qing Clan, and I would like to test your skills in a spar. I wonʼt fight you now, especially since Brother Jiantang is eager to spar with you.” Qing Yun then went to the side of the room and leaned against the wall.

”Hmm?” Zhang Xiaolong [3] looked at the two of them alternately. ”Why are you two so eager to spar with me?”

Tian Jiantang answered him first. ”We are both body cultivators, and I want to test the difference in our body strength.”

Zhang Xiaolong [3] looked at Qing Yun, who immediately answered. ”I am a speed cultivator, and I am interested in competing in speed with you.”

”I see.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] nodded in understanding before speaking to Tian Jiantiang. ”I am also curious about your body strength, so letʼs start sparring to prove who is the strongest among us.”

”Letʼs do it.” Tian Jiantang dashed forward and launched his fist at him, but Zhang Xiaolong [3] did not dodge it and punched his fist directly, knocking him back.

Tian Jiantang was genuinely shocked by the clash of their fists, realizing that Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs punch was so powerful it pushed him back, leaving his hand feeling numb.

Qing Yun, who was leaning on the side, was also shocked after Zhang Xiaolong [3] knocked Tian Jiantang back. Moreover, he didnʼt move an inch from his spot, and he still looked so relaxed after being hit by his best friendʼs attack. ʼThis kid! How strong is his fist strength? Iʼve experienced the effects of Jiantangʼs blow in the past, and it left me bedridden for a week, but this kid doesnʼt seem to feel anything from their clash.ʼ

ʼHis body is truly strong! All these years, only my father could knock me back this far; not even Uncle Qing and the others could do it.ʼ Just as Tian Jiantang was thinking that, Zhang Xiaolong [3] suddenly moved in front of him, which shocked him and Qing Yun once again.

Zhang Xiaolong [3] didnʼt give Tian Jiantang a chance to dodge, and he immediately threw a fist towards his face, forcing him to protect it by crossing his arms in front of him.

”Gah!” Tian Jiantang screamed as he staggered several steps back, but Zhang Xiaolong [3] quickly launched another punch at him, which he immediately countered with his full-power punch.

Tian Jiantang attempted to block Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs punch, but it sent him staggering backwards once more, nearly causing him to fall to the ground. He stomped his right leg back to support his body, but his hand was getting more and more numb from the collision of their fists just now.

ʼThereʼs no way Iʼm going to lose to him in a physical contest.ʼ Unfortunately, Tian Jiantang didnʼt know Zhang Xiaolong [3], and he didnʼt know that he had already mastered his three body cultivation techniques to the peak level.

Tian Jiantang was also unaware that Zhang Xiaolong [3] possessed both beast and demon forms, which allowed him to surpass the physical strength of any human cultivator, including him and his father.

Zhang Xiaolong [3] jumped back and spoke to him. ”I donʼt mean to belittle you, but you are not my match in a contest of physical strength, so I think we should stop our sparring.”

”Yeah.” Tian Jiantang felt no shame in admitting Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs superiority. ”How did you train your body to be this strong? Even if you spar with my father, Iʼm sure youʼll emerge victorious.”

”I tempered my body using lightning tribulation and some other methods.” Tian Jiantang looked shocked when he heard the lightning tribulation from Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”Whether you believe it or not, the heavens have repeatedly attempted to kill me, and Iʼve faced my lightning tribulation hundreds or even thousands of times.”

Tian Jiantang stared at Zhang Xiaolong [3] for some time before sighing heavily. ”How many living creatures have you killed?”

”Guess it yourself.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] replied with a faint smile.

Tian Jiantang immediately realized that Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs body count was already too numerous if the heavens wanted to kill him because of his bad karma.

Zhang Xiaolong [3] then said to Qing Yun. ”Letʼs do it.”

”Letʼs use our highest speed.” Qing Yun said this before moving in front of Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”I will chase you for two hours, and I will admit defeat if I cannot catch you by then.”

”Sure.” Qing Yun was shocked when Zhang Xiaolong [3] disappeared from his sight, but he immediately chased after him at full speed without using any techniques.

Tian Jiantang immediately moved to the side of the room so as not to disturb the two, and he tried to follow the movements of Zhang Xiaolong [3] and Qing Yun. Unfortunately, their speed was much faster than his, and his eyes were completely unable to follow their movements, leaving him to sigh helplessly. ʼQing Yunʼs speed is second to none in this realm, and only Uncle Qing can surpass him, but that kidʼs speed seems to be as fast as his.ʼ

Qing Yun, who was trying to catch up to Zhang Xiaolong [3], was also shocked by his speed. He felt that he was always a step behind him, and he always failed to catch him, even though the distance between them was only a few inches away. ʼThis is unbelievable!ʼ How could a cultivator at his level surpass my speed? Iʼve long been accustomed to ten times heavier gravity, but this kid repeatedly accelerates his speed every time I almost catch him.ʼ

Qing Yun was unaware that Zhang Xiaolong, who was accustomed to sixteen times heavier gravity, could easily handle ten times heavier gravity. Moreover, three of the other five clones were training with thirty-two times heavier gravity, which also had an effect on him, especially since they were basically one.

Qing Yun immediately used his technique to increase his speed, and he kept trying to catch Zhang Xiaolong [3] as soon as possible. Despite this, he still couldnʼt do it, but instead, he was shocked when he touched his shoulder before disappearing again.

To increase his speed even faster, Qing Yun took off his cloth before removing some of the iron weights that weighed his body down, and he also used his wind element for that.

Unlike Qing Yun, Zhang Xiaolong [3] had not used his movement or boost techniques to increase his speed. Instead, he used his body modification ability to reduce his body weight, which made his body extremely light and allowed him to move much faster without using anything.

ʼShit! What really happened? Why can I never get close to this kid? Iʼve let go of the iron weights that burdened my body before, and Iʼve also used my boost technique and wind element, but I feel that this kid is so far out of my reach.ʼ Qing Yun kept running behind Zhang Xiaolong [3] with one hand stretched forward, but he repeatedly failed to grab him. ʼDamn it! He hasnʼt even used any techniques, but his speed has already surpassed my top speed! Even my fatherʼs speed is still not as fast as his.ʼ

[Master, you are toying with this guy!]

ʼHaha!ʼ Zhang Xiaolong [3] turned to Qing Yun, who was working hard to catch him. ʼThis guy is too proud of his speed, and he is disappointed if I donʼt fight him half-heartedly, so I will play along with his game until he is satisfied.ʼ

Crack... Crack...

Qing Huang squeezed the armrest of his chair until it broke, and the muscles on his face bulged out as he watched his grandson compete with Zhang Xiaolong [3]. His blood boiled, and he was keen to join them to catch him, but he held himself back. ”Unbelievable!”

”What happened between them, Old Qing?” Shi Yan asked, as he could not follow the movements of the two people.

Qing Huang inhaled and exhaled a few times before answering him. ”That kidʼs speed has far surpassed Yunʼerʼs, even though he didnʼt use any techniques! My grandson already used his techniques and wind element, but he was always lagging behind him! In fact, Iʼm not sure if I can catch that kid, especially since his speed is ridiculously fast!”

”This kid is really a monster, huh?” Shi Yan muttered with a serious face. ”Jiantang is the best body cultivator in his generation, but that kid can force him to surrender in just a few clashes. Little Yun is also the fastest in his generation, but he canʼt match his speed.”

Qing Huang nodded her head strongly. ”No matter what the price, we must convince this kid to join our realm, and we must make him feel as comfortable as possible in staying here.”

”Youʼre right.” Shi Yan nodded in agreement.

In contrast, Jia Yuyan rested her chin on her hand while intently watching Zhang Xiaolong [3], genuinely curious about his speed training methods. ʼNo wonder his physique is strong since he is also a beast and a demon, but his speed is almost like teleportation, and he keeps toying with Qing Yun.ʼ

Leng Xueyan also observed Zhang Xiaolong [3] with a serious expression, but her gaze also looked gentle at the same time. ʼWho exactly are you? How can you continue appearing in my dreams? Iʼm sure weʼve never met before, but Iʼve been dreaming about you for almost two years now, and you even did that kind of thing to me repeatedly in my dreams. I always thought that you were just my unreal fantasy, but you existed before my eyes, making me eager to hug you tightly in my arms.ʼ

”Do we need to stop his tests?” Tian Jingxuan suddenly asked them.

Jia Yuyan immediately rejected him. ”Regardless of the final result, we will accept him into our realm, but we donʼt need to stop his tests, and I want to see his ability to face the last three tests, especially the Dao test.”

”I agree with Yuyan, Jingxuan.”

”Me too.”

”Count me in.” Tian Jingxuan and the others turned to Leng Xueyan, who had been silent ever since. ”Why are you all looking at me like that?”

”Nothing.”

”This kidʼs talent far surpasses my useless disciples, who have fled to the Moon Tower! I sent them to retrieve the Earth Flame, but they returned empty-handed, and they fled without taking responsibility for their failure.” Tian Jingxuan and the others chose not to respond to Leng Xueyan, which irritated her. ”When they return to this realm, I will give them the most severe punishment!”

”Whatever.”

After they played cat and mouse for two hours, Qing Yun finally gave up and admitted defeat to Zhang Xiaolong [3], especially since his Qi was getting thinner because he was forcing himself to use his top speed. ”How did you train your speed to be this fast?”

Bam

Zhang Xiaolong [3] threw the 5000-pound hammer onto the floor, which shocked Qing Yun. Tian Jiantang immediately moved to their side and raised the hammer. ”The weight of this hammer is 5000 pounds, so your iron weight is still too light compared to this.”

”5000 pounds?”

”Yes.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] nodded at him. ”Unlike you, who are a pure speed cultivator, I am a body cultivator, and I am used to carrying this hammer whenever I train, which affects my speed.”

Qing Yun nodded in understanding. ”I thought my iron weights were already very heavy, and people thought I was crazy to train with them. However, you are crazier than me, especially since you carry such a heavy hammer when you train.”

”Haha.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] laughed at that. ”The fastest way to train our physical strength and speed is to lift as heavy a weight as possible. Actually, I intend to forge a hammer that is much heavier than this, but I donʼt have the materials right now.”

”Eh?” Qing Yun and Tian Jiantang looked at him in surprise. ”Are you also a blacksmith?”

”Isnʼt that obvious?” Zhang Xiaolong [3] asked back with a smile. ”The main reason I became a body cultivator is my dream of becoming a blacksmith, especially since the price of high-grade equipment is costly. Unlike the two of you, I do not have a large clan to support my development, so I must work hard to meet all my needs.”

Tian Jiantang then spoke to him. ”If you want to forge a hammer heavier than this one, I have some materials you can use to forge it. However, you must first complete the remaining tests, and I will give them to you after you succeed.”

”All right, I will go to the next room, and I will meet you after I finish the tests.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] then spoke to Qing Yun. ”If you like, you can use my hammer to practice, especially since I no longer need it.”

”Thank you.” Qing Yun released a soft sigh as he looked at Zhang Xiaolong [3], who had already moved to the exit. ”That kid is really awesome, Jiantang. His cultivation level is far below us, but he managed to beat us both in areas that we have always been proud of.”

Tian Jiantang helped Qing Yun up. ”If his cultivation reaches our level in the future, I think it will be our turn to catch up to him.”

”Thatʼs right.” Qing Yun replied with a nod. ”Our sparring with him just now has opened my eyes, and I want to change myself to be as good as him. Therefore, I need your help to learn the body cultivation path, or else I will fall even further behind him in terms of speed.”

”You can go to my Tian Clan if you really are keen to learn to be a body cultivator, but you also have to teach me about speed cultivation.” Qing Yun nodded to Tian Jiantang, and the two left the place directly.

Mu Ling had already escorted Zhang Xiaolong [3] to the fifth test location, only to meet two furious gazes.

”Hehe.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] chuckled at their reactions. ”Iʼve wanted to meet you two for a long time, but I didnʼt expect to meet you guys here, Tian Baitian and Tian Baixing.”
