Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 499: Nine Stars Realm

[Ding]

[The system has already recorded the Nine Stars Realm, and the host can access it through Gate in the future.]

[The system upgrade process to level 5 begins.]

[Starts mapping the entire area of the Nine Stars Realm.]

”Extremely vast and huge!” All of them, including Zhang Fei, were shocked when the Pandora Odyssey started to enter the Nine Stars Realm.

The Nine Stars Realm was simply too vast, with four islands spread across several areas, but they were separated by a vast ocean. Even the smallest island, located in the south, was larger than Asia.

The atmosphere on the smallest island looked eerie, with black fog enveloping the entire area of the island, blocking their view. They could immediately conclude that the island belonged to the demon races, given their affiliation with the darkness element.

In the north, there were two islands next to each other that were one and a half to two times the size of the smallest island, and dense green forests covered both islands from end to end.

On one of the islands, a mountain towered high into the sky, with lightning constantly flashing at its peak. This mountain, known as the Cyanwood Mountain, was the main reason Zhang Fei had come to the Nine Stars Realm. The mountain itself is in the Natural Races Kingdom area, which means the island is the home of the Natural Races.

On another island, they could hear various loud sounds from various kinds of beasts, and they could also see so many giant flying beasts flying above it, indicating that it was the home of the beast races.

To the east lay a vast archipelago that was several times larger than the combined size of the two northern islands. However, they could see five barriers encircling various areas of the island, which were the capitals of the five human kingdoms.

Numerous towns and villages were scattered throughout the area of the five kingdoms, but one of them erected a high and thick wall that rivaled the great wall surrounding its entire border with the other four kingdoms. Forests, rivers, valleys, and mountains separate the borders of the other four kingdoms.

In the western area, all they could see was the ocean and numerous small islands scattered across it. Mei told Zhang Fei that there were no living creatures on those islands, except for plants and trees.

Their attention was suddenly diverted by a tall tower located in the middle of the realm; the tower area was also surrounded by a barrier that was much stronger than the five barriers that protected those five human kingdoms. Judging from its size, the tower was not that tall, and it seemed to only have about ten floors.

”Do you have any information about that tower, Feiʼer?”

Zhang Fei shook his head at Zhang Yue. ”Feng Yao gave me a lot of information about those nine kingdoms and their emperors, but she didnʼt give any information about that tower. Since we donʼt have any information about it, Iʼll go there and check it out later.

For now, weʼll look for the most suitable area to be our residence first, especially since our numbers are quite large, so we canʼt be too obvious, or theyʼll bother us and pressure us.”

The appearance of the seven quests shocked Zhang Fei, especially since he had only ever gotten daily quests in the Sky Jade Realm and the Wasteland Realm, yet the system suddenly gave him seven of them at once, and two of them were daily quests. Moreover, the first daily quest to absorb Qi no longer gave him jewels but coins, and he never got coins other than demon coins.

Meanwhile, the second daily quest was not too different from the old quest because he only needed to kill beasts or demon beasts, but the reward was no longer female essence, and it was replaced with a daily gift pack.

[Master, you donʼt need to ask me because I donʼt control the system, and it runs automatically.]

Zhang Fei let out a heavy sigh. ʼDo you believe the young girl is in control of the system, Mei?ʼ

[That possibility does exist, master. Unfortunately, I still donʼt have access to the creatorʼs information, so I donʼt have a definite answer for that.]

ʼBronze coins? Why did the system give me such a reward? Jewels should be worth more than bronze coins.ʼ Zhang Fei suddenly remembered the information from Feng Yao that the five human kingdoms used bronze, silver, and gold coins as their currency. As for the jewels, not all of their citizens could have them, and only people of high class could have them.

ʼEven though itʼs a loss for me, I donʼt think itʼs too big of a deal, especially since my two shops in the Sky Jade Realms will continue to receive jewels. The change in the second daily quest is also a huge loss for me, but fortunately, I have Orith, the Amaris Twins, Nadea, and the other succubi.

Moreover, the female essence of Eve, Fyr, Ashreth, and Leora continues to increase, or else the increase in my demon rank would slow down.ʼ

[Hehe! Isnʼt that easy, Master? You just need to go to the demon island, and you can find new female demon partners there. Unlike Orith, the Amaris Twins, and Nadea, who can only provide you with female essences, the female demons in this realm can also provide you with Yin Qi.]

ʼYeah.ʼ Zhang Fei then read the other five quests, but only the abyss and special quests were intriguing to him. He already knew how to get the lightning element, but the quest rank made him realize that it wouldnʼt be easy.

Firstly, he needed to travel to the Natural Races Kingdom to obtain permission to enter Cyanwood Mountain, and he was skeptical that the elf king would grant it, particularly considering he was a foreigner with low cultivation. Second, there were only low-rank lightning seeds in the mountain, and his chances of getting the lightning element were very small.

ʼThe star tower?ʼ Zhang Fei then looked towards the tower located in the middle of the realm, but Mei immediately told him that she and the system could not detect it. ʼSigh! I have to go to one of those kingdoms to find out about the star tower, and I will go there if my current strength is sufficient to challenge it.

If my current strength is still insufficient, then I will enter seclusion again until it is sufficient.ʼ

”What are you thinking, Big Brother? Why does your expression look strange?” Zhang Lin suddenly questioned Zhang Fei.

”Nothing; I just suddenly remembered something.” Zhang Fei then turned to them one by one. ”Which island besides the demon island should we choose for our new residence in this realm?”

”Zhang Fei, most of us are humans, so you should find a place to live near the human kingdom.” All of them nodded in agreement with Oliver, acknowledging that living on the demon or beast islands was not feasible for them. Regarding the natural races, most of them have a strong dislike for humans. ”However, you can drop us off at the natural racesʼ island, and we will stay there.”

”Eh? Grandpa, why did you suddenly decide such a thing without telling me?” Zefyr protested as she floated in front of her grandfather with her two small hands on her waist.

”Hahaha!” Oliver laughed and stroked Zefyrʼs head. ”Weʼve been residing in the fairy forest for an extended period and havenʼt embarked on any adventures for the past thousand years, so weʼve made the decision to journey together to discover new adventures in this realm.

Moreover, weʼve been training hard in his training space for the past six weeks, and our cultivation is not bad either, so the best choice is to go to that island.”

”Moreover, Zhang Fei wants to go to that island in the future, so we decided to go there to prepare the way for him.” Persix added.

Gravir also spoke to Zefyr. ”Little girl, we are all natural races, and our races are peaceful races. Thatʼs why you donʼt need to worry about us; we will definitely be fine on the island.”

”Well, thatʼs true.” Zefyr then turned to the other leaders of the natural races, especially the female ones. ”Are the three of you also heading to that island?”

”No.” Elmyra answered Zefyr directly. ”Sabina and Yuhe will join them, but I will stay with you all, and I will teach Ru Xue more about healing, so she will be the best support for you in the future.”

”I see.” Zefyr then turned to Zhang Fei. ”Are you okay with their decision?”

”Why should I object to their decision?” Zhang Fei responded with a shake of his head. ”All of us are cultivators, and we can only improve ourselves by facing unexpected situations. Moreover, all of them are experienced seniors, so I believe they can take care of themselves well on the island.”

Zefyr released a soft sigh before nodding. ”So where are we going to stay?”

[Ding]

[Mapping of the area of the Nine Stars Realm has been completed; the host can check the entire area via the map.]

Zhang Fei immediately opened his map and checked every area of the human island, where he found that the Xian Kingdom was located in the south of the island. Moreover, there was a large area quite far from the twons and villages around there, and it was close to the sea.

”We will stay in the south near the sea, especially since Feng Yao said that the kingdom in that area is the safest and most peaceful compared to the other four, so we shouldnʼt encounter many problems if we stay there.”

”Yay!” Most of them cheered with joy after Zhang Fei said that, especially since they were eager to live near the sea, particularly Angela, the demon fish.

Zhang Fei smiled seeing them in such excitement, and he immediately flew the Pandora Odyssey to the natural racesʼ island first to drop Oliver and the others on the island. After some time, they reached the islandʼs edge, but Yuhe, the undine leader, abruptly decided to jump into the sea below them, causing confusion among the others.

”You donʼt need to worry about Yuhe, especially since she is an Undine and her habitat is the sea.” After Oliver and the others landed on the island, Zhang Fei immediately flew the Pandora Odyssey to the south of the human island. ”So what are we going to do now? Are we going to look for the nearest city right away?”

”Yes.” Sabina immediately pointed toward the forest in front of them. ”I have communicated with the trees in the forest, and they will guide us to the nearest city, which is about 1500 miles from here. We should move now, as it will take a few days on foot.”

They all promptly trailed behind Sabina, but Gravir abruptly spoke to them. ”Hey! We have been training in Zhang Feiʼs training space for a considerable amount of time, and since the beasts in this realm are expected to be much stronger than those in the Sky Jade Realm, I wanted to test my fighting skills.”

”Hahaha!” Persix laughed hearing that. ”Youʼre right, we canʼt lose to our leader, so we also need to hone our fighting skills even more, especially since he will take us to the upper realms in the future. Otherwise, we wonʼt be able to help him deal with the enemies that might appear there, and we will only be a burden to him.”

Gravir and the others agreed with Persix, so they leisurely walked through the forest while fighting the beasts that blocked their way. However, they did not kill them and used them as training opponents, but they fled when faced with stronger opponents.

Yuhe, the undine leader, kept diving towards the bottom of the sea, especially since she felt something from there. Although the current in the sea was strong, it was not a big problem for her because her race was related to water, and she could transform her body into water.

Something unexpected happened when she was just halfway to the bottom of the sea; a whirlpool suddenly appeared in front of her and sucked her into it.

Yuhe emerged from the whirlpool in a matter of seconds, only to find herself in an underwater city. Despite its small size, the underwater city was surprisingly spacious, with a huge bubble covering the entire area.

Yuhe immediately looked around the area around the underwater city, and she found many members of the undine race. She could also see many other aquatic living beings living in it from both natural races and beast races, but the situation there is really safe and peaceful. ”Apparently, Feng Yao doesnʼt know the existence of this city, or else she has already told Zhang Fei about it. Hmm?

Since this city is specifically for aquatic living beings like me, I will stay here for the time being, so I can increase my strength faster.”

After they flew for a few hours due to the vastness of the planet, they finally arrived at the southern part of the human island, and Zhang Fei immediately landed the Pandora Odyssey in an empty place.

Once they disembarked from the flying artifact, Zhang Feiʼs wives, partners, female family members, and female disciples from the Yin-Yang Pavilion immediately ran towards the sea, which was slightly distant from their location. All of them, especially Angela, who had missed the sea for a long time, were ecstatic.

Zhang Fei let them enjoy themselves first, especially since they had been living in his training space and outer space for so long. He immediately summoned Zhang Fei [1] and Feltia [2] out of the training space, mainly because he couldnʼt use the portable mansion or the cloud mansion for their residence, so he wanted to build some houses for them to live in.

Zhang Fei then conveyed his idea to the other men, and they immediately agreed with it. They immediately divided the task of looking for wood in the forest and rocks for the foundation of their houses, especially since they had to build several houses for all of them. Additionally, he also wanted to build a wall to protect their houses from beasts or others.

Fortunately, all of them were cultivators, and their cultivations were not bad either, so they didnʼt need heavy equipment for that. Instead, they used their qi and weapons to cut down trees and split rocks, which was much easier and faster for them to do so.

When the sun had set, Zhang Fei and the men had gathered large quantity logs and rocks, but they still werenʼt enough to build many houses at once, so they decided to continue the next day.

Unlike Zhang Long and the other men, Zhang Fei did not rest, and his two clones, Zhang Fei [1] and Feltia [2], went hunting beasts with Feltia [2] to complete the second daily quest. Meanwhile, he immersed himself in his cultivation to complete the first daily quest, especially since there was not much time left.
