Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 496: A Week Later

”How do you two feel? Are you enjoying your first experience leaving your home realm?” Wen Yuan and Wen Xuan turned to Zhang Fei, who immediately embraced their shoulders. ”Even though we only departed today, you must have missed the Sky Jade Realm, right?

Actually, I also experienced that kind of feeling when I first left earth, but I slowly got used to the situation, especially since you all helped me through my time there. Both of you are more experienced than me, so youʼll adapt faster and be eager to explore the Nine Stars Realm.”

Wen Xuan was the first to answer Zhang Fei. ”Before your arrival in our realm, we didnʼt even know that other realms existed, so we never imagined leaving it, yet here we are now on our way to a new and unfamiliar realm. Even though we still feel strange about leaving our realm, I canʼt wait to arrive there, and weʼre already thinking about exploring it once we get there.”

”We are aware that the realm is full of strong cultivators; but as experienced assassins, we want to explore that realm as quickly as possible, even if our cultivation is still in the earth realm.” Wen Yuan then posed a curious question. ”Why are you considering forming a new organization in the Middle Realm?”

Zhang Fei first gave each of the Wen twins a kiss before giving them an explanation. ”Whether in the lower, middle, or upper realms, strength is everything in the world of cultivation. In addition to our personal strength, we also need a supporting force, so I plan to form a new organization.

Since we are still unfamiliar with the situation in the Nine Stars Realm, I cannot bring too many people there immediately. Therefore, our new organization will begin with us, and I will gradually bring members of the demon fox group there. The new organization will not only focus on assassination like before, but it will be active in broader fields such as trading, alchemy, and healing.

Huaʼer and you two will focus on assassination, Lingxue will focus on alchemy, Ru Xue will focus on healing, and the others will focus on trading.”

”So, youʼre also going to open a new shop in that realm?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei nodded to them. ”In the Sky Jade Realm, you use Hua Luo as a facade, but I dislike prostitution even though I am a dual cultivator. Thatʼs why I want to open a shop that is not much different from my shops in our realm, but I will not sell items from my home realm, and the new shop will specifically sell cultivator items, especially those related to alchemy.”

”Is that because the realm still adheres to the kingdom system?”

”The imperial system is different from the system in the Sky Jade Realm, where each clan and sect has their own role.” The Wen twins themselves were unfamiliar with such a system, as their realm lacked a monarchy. Each kingdomʼs emperor or empress controls everything, limiting our freedom of movement.

If I sell items from my home realm in my new shop, it would be too conspicuous, and they will do everything they can to suppress us. Moreover, we donʼt have any connections there yet, so it would be better if we kept it low-key by selling common items to avoid such a thing.”

”Are there also sects in that realm?”

Zhang Fei nodded to them. ”Like other cultivation worlds, there are several sects in the Nine Stars Realm.

Based on the information I got from Feng Yao, all the major sects in that realm are under the influence of those imperial families, and they require younger cultivators with the best talents to join their sects, so the power of the sects there is not balanced because the minor sects only get disciples with ordinary talents.”

”Wouldnʼt that be detrimental to them?” Wen Yuan asked with a raised eyebrow. ”They may be strong, but Iʼm sure they still need other peopleʼs help, especially when the other kingdoms attack their kingdom. If the minor sects are too weak and no one can help them, then their kingdom will fall apart if the enemies succeed in destroying their major sects.”

”Youʼre not wrong about that.” Zhang Fei then proceeded to explain to the Wen Twins the circumstances of the kingdom era on earth. ”Even though I still donʼt know for sure what the situation is in that realm, Iʼm sure itʼs not too different from the situation in my home realm in the past.

Those emperors or empresses will probably use the people from those minor sects as cannon fodder, so their main force will have plenty of time to strategize to stop their enemy. However, the war between mortal kingdoms and cultivator kingdoms is definitely different, so I canʼt guess about the intensity of their war if that happens.”

The Wen Twins released heavy sighs after hearing all that, especially since the mortal world was never peaceful, let alone the cultivation world, which was much harsher.

Zhang Fei hugged the Wen Twins even tighter. ”You two donʼt think about such things because I will take you all to live in a place far away from their conflicts, and I will build up our strength gradually while we focus on increasing our individual strength.”

Wen Xuan then asked him. ”Hey, Fei, are we going to stay in the middle realms forever? Are we never going back to the Sky Jade Realm again?”

”Why do you have to think about that, Xuan? If you and Yuan want to go back there, I can send you two there whenever you want to, remember?” The Wen Twins laughed as they nodded to Zhang Fei. ”I myself will miss the Sky Jade Realm, but I want to focus more on building up our strength in the middle realms, so I might not go back there often after I save Hu Yue.

Moreover, the middle realms are not our last stop, and there are countless realms in the upper realms waiting for us, so we cannot continue to be distracted by matters in the lower realms. Once our cultivation breaks through to the seven divine realms, we will probably go directly to one of the planets in the upper realms.

However, the upper realms are still far from our reach, so I donʼt want to think about it now, and we should focus on the road ahead of us.”

A while later, Zhang Fei was already sitting beside Zhang Chen, who was talking with Wang Zetian and Dou Luotian about the earth. ”What about your father? Did he succeed in persuading the winged race higher-ups?”

”Not yet.” Dou Luotian replied with a disappointed sigh. ”My father has successfully persuaded some of them, but the majority, particularly the Throne, are overly ambitious to become the sole ruler of the four realms.

Micah informed me that they are considering the possibility of invading the Xian Realm before launching an attack on the other two, given that the people from that realm present the greatest challenge for them. However, I am confident that such an invasion is unlikely, given their superior strength over our race.”

Zhang Fei nodded in understanding. ”I hope that those birds will attack the Xian Realm, thereby significantly decreasing the strength of the Tian and Xian realms, and making them reconsider attacking the other two realms.”

”What if they attack the earth, Feiʼer?”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei chuckled as he hugged Zhang Chen. ”Grandma, my fifth clone is staying on earth, so you donʼt have to worry about that. The Throne might be strong by the standards of the four realms, but he wonʼt be stronger than the cultivators in the Sky Jade Realm.

I will ask Boitata to slaughter them if they dare to attack there, and I will ask our acquaintances in that realm to help her if she has trouble fighting them alone.”

The three people frowned at Zhang Feiʼs answer. ”Are you really going to slaughter them, Feiʼer?”

Zhang Fei answered Wang Zetian with a determined nod. ”Old man, our enemies will never be merciful towards us, so we donʼt need to be merciful towards them either. If they choose to be my enemies, I will use all means to eliminate them, even if it means destroying the balance between the four realms. However, I will only kill those who are my enemies, and I will spare those who are on my side.

As for the Diyu Realm, I donʼt think much about that realm anymore, especially since Morgana and Oz the first were able to wipe out the people from both realms, so I leave the affairs of that realm to them.”

After he said that, Zhang Fei immediately left them because he could see that they wanted to persuade him not to do such a thing, and he himself would never change his decision about his enemies.

Zhang Chen let out a heavy sigh because of her grandsonʼs departure, and she then spoke to Dou Luotian. ”Sister Dou, I hope your father can persuade those higher-ups, or else they will all die in vain if they try to invade Earth.”

”Yeah, I myself donʼt want my race members to die stupidly at the hands of Zhang Fei and his friends, so I hope my father can convince them, even though it wonʼt be easy.”

After that day, Zhang Fei let them all relax for three days, so he sent them all back to the training space to practice and cultivate after three days. He himself also went inside to dual cultivate with all his wives and slaves, so Zhang Fei [1] and Feltia [2] took turns to control the Pandora Odyssey.

After three days, Hu Gao and the two moon fox raceʼs elders arrived at the heavenly sword city, and they immediately checked the Chu Clan. Naturally, they couldnʼt find Zhang Fei and his family there, and they couldnʼt find them in the Ye Clan either.

Before they went to the western region, they had already checked the Zhang Clan, but they couldnʼt find Zhang Long and the others there.

Hu Gaoʼs face darkened as he was unable to locate Zhang Fei anywhere. ”Where is that brat? Why isnʼt he in this city? I remember clearly that he stayed in this city most of the time, but I canʼt find any trace of him at all, and the main members of those two clans arenʼt here either.”

”Do you think heʼs in the southern region, leader?” Hu Gao immediately turned to Hu Peiwu. ”Zhang Fei is the son-in-law of the Shen and Liu clans, and heʼs also a disciple of the Yin-Yang Pavilion, right? Since we canʼt find him in this region, I think he might be there now.”

”I agree with Peiwu, Leader.” Hu Dahai said as he nodded. ”The two Shen ancestors have indeed broken through to the sovereign realm, but they are just ordinary beasts, and our cultivation is also higher than theirs, so they are not an obstacle for us to capture that brat.”

”All right, weʼre going to the southern region now to check on that brat there.”

Immediately, the three of them took off toward the southern region, only to abruptly halt when Feng Yao suddenly appeared before them. Hu Dahai and Hu Peiwu stiffened because of his sudden appearance, especially since it was still fresh in their memories when he beat up Hu Gao in the past, and it even took him several years to recover.

”Heʼs not in this realm anymore, and heʼs on his way to another realm now, so you donʼt need to bother looking for him.” Hu Gao frowned after hearing Feng Yaoʼs words, but he remembered that Zhang Fei had the ability to switch realms easily. ”Peace has just returned to this realm, so I donʼt want you to disturb it again.

If you wonʼt listen to me, then I will beat you even harder than before, and I will cripple your cultivation if necessary.”

”You-”

”You what?” Feng Yao immediately interrupted Hu Gao, enveloping the three of them with her aura and causing cold sweat to quickly trickle down their foreheads. ”I canʼt do anything to these humans, but you are divine beasts, and I am the protector of this realm, so I can punish you accordingly. Since my patience is limited, you should return to your sub-realm now or face the consequences.”

ʼLeader, I think we should go back right now, or this woman will really cripple our cultivation, and we will be the ones to suffer.ʼ Hu Peiwu spoke to Hu Gao through voice transmission, but his tone was filled with fear.

Hu Dahai was also frightened by Feng Yaoʼs threat, and he was really afraid of becoming crippled, so he also persuaded Hu Gao, who was still hesitating. ʼLeader, we will never win against her, so we should leave now.ʼ

ʼThis bitch! She repeatedly interferes in my affairs and pressures me! Damn it! I will definitely teach her a harsh lesson one day.ʼ With a heavy heart, Hu Gao immediately led the two old men to leave the western region, but his expression turned ugly as soon as Feng Yao said something in his mind. ʼHeh! This bitch thinks too highly of that brat!

I will kill him if he dares to return to this realm again.ʼ

Feng Yao shook her head as she watched them fly away. ”He has lived for more than two thousand years, but he is just an ignorant old man. When Zhang Fei returns to this realm again, it means that he is ready to face them. If he still has such thoughts about him at that time, then he and his race will be doomed, and they will be wiped out from this realm.”

Another three days passed; Zhang Fei [4] finally arrived above the Dead Forest, and he observed the area that his map could not detect.

[Master, I donʼt know what awaits you in there, so you increase your vigilance once you enter that area. Back then, Tian Jiyuan managed to escape from that place using his gate ability, so you should be able to do the same if you encounter powerful demons inside.]

Zhang Fei [4] nodded slightly and landed right on the edge of the area that was not detected by his map, and a notification immediately appeared in his mind.

Zhang Fei [4] immediately summoned the demon extermination sword out of his body and entered the area afterward, but his expression became serious as the map turned completely black, and he could not detect anything inside the place.

”I had expected this formation to be very powerful, especially since Morgana said that Shang Huaqiang got it from someone in the Xianjin Realm, but it is much more powerful than I had previously imagined.”

[Master, although the map canʼt show anything, I can still detect a lot of movement around this area, and the portal should be in the middle of this area. However, I advise you not to get too close to that area, especially since Shang Huaqiang placed a powerful guardian there.]

*Rustling... Rustling...*

Zhang Fei [4] immediately went on alert as soon as he heard the voices, but to his surprise, a demon tree approached him. ”Oh? Was Arbeola the one who gave the order to see me?”

”Yes.” The demon tree then pointed one of its trunks toward the center. ”Those demon kings and queens are in that area, and most of them were heavily injured after being attacked by the guardian. Some others managed to escape, but they were lost in there and couldnʼt find their way out.”

”Do you know where the three succubi duchesses are located?”
