The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 320: Chapter 320: Battle of Qian Zhen Chapter 320: Chapter 320: Battle of Qian Zhen Ying Youque looked very displeased.

“Envoy Bing Ruo, was it Vice Chancellor Tong Kui who gave the order?” Ying Youque asked in a low voice.

“It wasn’t Vice Chancellor Tong Kui, it was Vice Chancellor Fang Ruoyu!” Bing Ruo stated.

“Vice Chancellor Fang Ruoyu?” Ying Youque’s brows furrowed tightly.

In the Dao Yi Academy, there used to be one Dean, one Vice Chancellor, and three Upper Elders.

However, recently, another Vice Chancellor was added, which is Fang Ruoyu.

Now, the Dao Yi Academy had two Vice Chancellors.

The background of Fang Ruoyu was quite mysterious, even Ying Youque and the other Upper Elders didn’t know her origins.

Fang Ruoyu wasn’t originally from the Dao Yi Academy but had suddenly joined.

Furthermore, upon her arrival, she immediately became the Vice Chancellor, with a status second only to the Dean.

Hearing that it was an order from Fang Ruoyu, Ying Youque let out a cold laugh.

If it had been Vice Chancellor Tong Kui, Ying Youque would naturally have shown respect.

But for Fang Ruoyu, his respect was not as forthcoming, at least not in his heart.

In Ying Youque’s view, although Fang Ruoyu was the Vice Chancellor with higher status than himself, she was merely an outsider.

Yet, despite his lack of respect internally, Ying Youque still couldn’t openly defy Fang Ruoyu on the surface—after all, Fang Ruoyu was the Vice Chancellor.

When the Vice Chancellor gave an order, he must comply, especially in front of so many people.

If he openly defied the Vice Chancellor’s command, there would be serious problems!

“Since the Vice Chancellor has ordered, let’s leave this matter at that for now!” Ying Youque said very displeased.

His words implied a temporary halt, not that Jing Yan was completely exonerated.

His plan was to leave this place first and then speak with the Dean about this matter.

He wouldn’t let Jing Yan off the hook simply because of a word from Vice Chancellor Fang Ruoyu.

“Hall Master…” Qian Zhen was unwilling to accept this.

Just when he was about to take Jing Yan’s life, he hadn’t expected the Envoy to arrive suddenly and demand Jing Yan’s release.

How frustrating!

“Qian Zhen, enough,” Ying Youque waved his hand at Qian Zhen, cutting him off.

“Brat, consider yourself lucky, I’ll let you live a few more days!” Qian Zhen turned his head to look at Jing Yan with a menacing tone.

“Qian Zhen, didn’t you want to kill me just now?” Jing Yan suddenly said with a cold laugh.

At this moment, the fury and intent to kill in Jing Yan’s heart hadn’t subsided at all.

Qian Zhen wanted to kill him, and he wanted to kill Qian Zhen just as much.

Jing Yan didn’t know why this Vice Chancellor Fang Ruoyu wanted to look out for him; he had never even met the Vice Chancellor, let alone heard of her.

Nevertheless, he didn’t need to think about these things right now.

There would naturally be an opportunity to meet this Vice Chancellor Fang Ruoyu in the future.

What he needed to do now was kill Qian Zhen first.

“You little bastard, don’t act clever after getting a favor.

If it weren’t for the Envoy bringing the Vice Chancellor’s command, do you think I would have spared you?” Qian Zhen said coldly.

“Heh, well, now you can make your move!

Qian Zhen, I challenge you.

I, Jing Yan, demand a life-and-death battle with you!” Jing Yan’s gaze fixed on Qian Zhen.

“What?” Qian Zhen was startled.

Lin Yan also looked at Jing Yan with a surprised expression.

“Jing Yan, Qian Zhen is an Inner Court Student who not long ago successfully advanced to the Dao Spirit Realm!” Hua Kaizhi hurriedly spoke out to remind him.

Not all Inner Court Students are in the Dao Spirit Realm.

Fang Ruoyu, however, had also advanced to the Dao Spirit Realm not long before!

His strength had increased manifold compared to when he was in the Innate Realm!

“Qian Zhen, I challenge you to a life-and-death battle, do you dare?” Jing Yan did not respond to Hua Kaizhi and pressed Qian Zhen with another question.

“Haha…” Qian Zhen finally reacted.

“You want a life-and-death battle with me?” Qian Zhen’s sinister gaze fixed on Jing Yan, “Alright, remember it was you who said it.”

“Ambassador Bing Ruo, Jing Yan wants a life-and-death battle with Qian Zhen, which has nothing to do with me or the Criminal Punishment Hall!” Ying Youque’s gaze hardened as he looked towards Bing Ruo and said.

“Hmm!” Bing Ruo nodded.

Bing Ruo’s gaze also fell on Jing Yan.

Actually, Bing Ruo himself didn’t know the relation between Jing Yan and Fang Ruoyu; he was just the messenger.

But at this moment, he couldn’t help but feel surprised.

This Jing Yan was indeed different.

He had inquired a bit about Jing Yan and learned that Jing Yan had just joined Dao Yi Academy, and at the assessment of the Three Major Academies, he passed the Sky Crossing Array and seized the Golden Order.

The young man was strong with tremendous potential.

There was a great chance of him advancing to the Dao Spirit Realm within ten years!

But even if his strength was great, with his current level of Cultivation, he surely couldn’t contend with a Martial Artist in the Dao Spirit Realm, could he?

Seizing the Golden Order only meant Jing Yan had strength close to the Dao Spirit Realm and some good luck, but Qian Zhen was a genuine Dao Spirit Realm powerhouse, having broken through to the Dao Spirit Realm months ago, a true Early Dao Spirit Realm Martial Artist.

Could it be that Jing Yan was tired of living, seeking to fight Qian Zhen to the death?

Bing Ruo shook his head gently.

Although he found Jing Yan to have a noble spirit, he also believed that Jing Yan’s actions were misguided.

The Criminal Punishment Hall had wanted to execute Jing Yan before, and now the Vice Chancellor had ordered that the Hall could not touch him; Jing Yan’s life was saved, at least for the time being.

But Jing Yan, now he was the one who actively sought a life-and-death battle with Qian Zhen!

Wasn’t this seeking death?

“Jing Yan wants to challenge Qian Zhen?”

“This Jing Yan is extremely strong, the Martial Artist who seized the Golden Order!”

“So what?

Didn’t you hear Garden Director Hua Kaizhi?

Qian Zhen has already stepped into the Dao Spirit Realm of Cultivation.

Jing Yan, fighting against a Dao Spirit Realm powerhouse?

Isn’t that seeking death?”

“Alas, it seems Jing Yan truly cares about Zhang Min.

Knowing that Zhang Min died at the hands of Qian Zhen, he’s recklessly seeking revenge.”

“Seeking revenge is admirable, I respect him.

But without sufficient strength, it isn’t revenge, it’s suicide!

Once dead, there’s no more chance for revenge.”

“…”

Many Dao Yi Academy students in the distance were discussing loudly.

Most of them were shaking their heads, believing that Jing Yan’s actions were too reckless and inappropriate.

However, some people greatly admired Jing Yan.

Especially some of the female students, their admiration for Jing Yan surged dramatically!

“Jing Yan, it is you who is challenging me, so even if I kill you, the Criminal Punishment Hall cannot hold me responsible for it,” Qian Zhen added.

His words were directed at Jing Yan.

However, his intention was for people like Ying Youque to hear.

It wasn’t that he wanted to kill Jing Yan, but Jing Yan had challenged him, and he was merely accepting the challenge.

Therefore, if he killed Jing Yan, he was not in the wrong.

“Spare me the nonsense!” Jing Yan slowly drew his Skyfire Sword and faced Qian Zhen.

“Humph, you think just because you seized the Golden Order, you can compete with me?

Fine!

Today I will make you realize just how wide the gap is between you, a mere Martial Artist of the Innate Realm, and me, a Dao Spirit Realm Martial Artist!” Qian Zhen also drew his weapon, a black longsword, also a Magic Artifact.

“Let’s all step back and clear this area for Jing Yan to challenge Qian Zhen!” Ying Youque’s eyes flickered as he spoke to the surrounding crowd and he was the first to back away to a spot a hundred meters away.

Hall Master Lin Yan shook his head and sighed before stepping back.
