The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 309: Chapter 309: The President Steps In Chapter 309: Chapter 309: The President Steps In Jing Yan was certainly not the kind of person to sit and wait for death, but at this moment, in the face of absolute strength, he found himself without any strategy.

Vice President Liu Wen was definitely on his side, but once Liu Wen took action, Xu Dong, that old scoundrel, would surely intervene and obstruct.

“Damn it!” Jing Yan’s thoughts raced.

“Jing Yan, let’s go!” Vice Hall Master Mu Xi raised his hand, Primordial Energy flowed, and he directly dragged Jing Yan out of the room.

“Xu Dong, do you really want to stop me?” Liu Wen stared at Xu Dong.

“Liu Wen, it’s not that I want to stop you, if you don’t make a move, I definitely won’t hinder you.

But if you interfere with Mu Xi catching Jing Yan, then I can only stop you to prevent you from making a big mistake,” Xu Dong said with a smile.

“Xu Dong, you old bastard, settling personal scores…” Jing Yan glared at Xu Dong and cursed.

Anyway, the two had completely torn their faces apart, and he was already being taken back to Dao Yi Academy’s Criminal Punishment Hall for trial; why should he give face to Xu Dong, that old scoundrel?

“Settling personal scores?”

“Jing Yan, if you hadn’t violated the rules of Dao Yi Academy, would Dao Yi Academy’s Criminal Punishment Hall need to apprehend you?

All of this happened because of your own doing.

If there’s anyone to blame, it can only be yourself.” Xu Dong’s expression darkened, but as he watched Jing Yan being forcibly taken away, he wasn’t angered by Jing Yan’s insults.

“Xu Dong, you old jerk, remember this for me!

Sooner or later, you will regret today’s actions,” Jing Yan yelled.

He was forcefully dragged away by Mu Xi.

“Vice Hall Master Mu Xi, please stop!”

At that moment, a voice suddenly rang out.

Everyone’s gaze flashed.

A figure then appeared within everyone’s sight.

“President?”

“President?” Shock appeared on Mu Xi’s face.

Both Vice Presidents Xu Dong and Liu Wen also wore surprised expressions upon seeing the recently emerged figure.

Jing Yan, too, saw the figure approaching, dressed in a dark yellow robe, looking distinguished.

The President?

Jing Yan thought to himself, the president of the Alchemist Association?

Jing Yan had never seen the president of the Alchemist Association; he only knew that the president was named Li Xingjiu, recognized within Lanqu County City as the most capable Pill Master.

Moreover, Li Xingjiu was expected to leave Lanqu County City for Pill Country soon.

Li Xingjiu had not involved himself in the affairs of the Alchemist Association for quite some time.

Although he still held the title of president, the internal affairs of the association were almost entirely managed by the two Vice Presidents, Liu Wen and Xu Dong.

And for this reason, Li Xingjiu was rarely seen, and Jing Yan had never met him.

Now that Li Xingjiu had appeared suddenly, it naturally surprised Xu Dong, Liu Wen, and others.

“Vice Hall Master Mu Xi, he’s within the Alchemist Association’s jurisdiction, you cannot take him away.

You may leave now!” Li Xingjiu said with a light smile, his gaze towards Mu Xi and his voice soft.

“President, Jing Yan has violated the rules of Dao Yi Academy, so…” Xu Dong, with furrowed brows, bowed to Li Xingjiu before speaking.

However, before he could finish, Li Xingjiu waved his hand.

“Jing Yan is a student of Dao Yi Academy, but he is also a Pill Master of the Alchemist Association.

If Dao Yi Academy truly intends to take Jing Yan away from the Alchemist Association, then let the Dean of Dao Yi Academy come and speak to me!” Li Xingjiu said, in a calm voice.

“But…” Mu Xi was somewhat reluctant.

Just as he was about to succeed, the president of the Alchemist Association had personally intervened.

In the presence of this president, he dared not act rashly.

This President was in no way inferior in status to the Chief Master of Dao Yi Academy.

And this Chief Master was not Shu Ling, the Outer Court Director, but the real Chief Master of Dao Yi Academy.

“There’s nothing to but about, Vice Hall Master Mu Xi, you have heard my words.

Now, please leave, Jing Yan must stay,” Li Xingjiu added.

Li Xingjiu’s voice was very calm, seemingly amiable.

However, it carried an authority befitting a superior.

“Yes!” Mu Xi bowed in response.

Mu Xi knew, with the president of the Alchemist Association personally intervening, that taking Jing Yan from the Alchemist Association today was an impossibility.

He could say no more; it was pointless.

Moreover, Li Xingjiu had made it clear—if anyone wanted to take Jing Yan from the Alchemist Association, then the Dean of Dao Yi Academy had to personally come to ask.

And it was clear the Dean of Dao Yi Academy wouldn’t likely come forward to request Jing Yan.

In fact, the Dean of Dao Yi Academy didn’t even know about the situation with Jing Yan.

Reluctantly, Mu Xi left the Alchemist Association.

“Thank you, President,” Jing Yan expressed his gratitude to Li Xingjiu.

Li Xingjiu narrowed his eyes, looking at Jing Yan.

“You don’t need to thank me.

You are a Pill Master of the Alchemist Association; the Alchemist Association should protect you.

If I allowed Mu Xi to take you just like that, where would the Alchemist Association’s dignity stand?” Li Xingjiu said softly.

Xu Dong’s face turned slightly pale.

Li Xingjiu’s words, though seemingly directed at Jing Yan, were undeniably expressing dissatisfaction towards him.

Xu Dong did not understand why President Li Xingjiu had suddenly appeared; he had never anticipated this scenario.

The president rarely interfered in the internal affairs of the Alchemist Association, but today, there had been an unexpected reversal.

“Jing Yan, your talent for Alchemy Dao is very good.

Work hard!

Do not let your talent go to waste.” Li Xingjiu added, then turned and strolled away.

Xu Dong watched as Li Xingjiu left, then glanced at Jing Yan again with a complex expression.

After taking a deep breath, he too returned to his own room.

“Jing Yan, it seems the President has taken notice of you!” Liu Wen said with a smile to Jing Yan.

“Is the President just concerned about not losing the Alchemist Association’s face?” Jing Yan asked.

“You are mistaken.

The president hardly intervenes in the affairs of the Alchemist Association.

He is about to leave the Alchemist Association for Pill Country.

Such trivial matters really shouldn’t concern him.

Yet, he personally intervened, which could only mean one thing—that he has taken an interest in you and sees potential in you,” Liu Wen shook his head and said.

Jing Yan fell silent.

…

More than ten days had passed in the blink of an eye.

During these ten days, Jing Yan feverishly refined elixirs, amassing Contribution Points at an astonishing rate.

“One million!

I’ve finally reached one million Contribution Points,” Jing Yan joyously observed his Contribution Points.

“Let’s start refining the Spirit Infant Pill!” Jing Yan’s eyes narrowed, “Exchange for the Spiritual Grass Materials for the Spirit Infant Pill.”

The Spirit Infant Pill was a Third-level Elixir.

Jing Yan had never before attempted to refine a Third-level Elixir.

Now, he was going to try his hand at refining a Third-level Elixir.

Moreover, the Spirit Infant Pill was a kind of Third-level Elixir that enhanced a Martial Artist’s Cultivation, much more powerful than the Guiyuan Pill.
