The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Trouble Ahead Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Trouble Ahead “Innate?” When Xu Dong heard this name, his eyes suddenly brightened.

Before Mu Xi mentioned Jing Yan’s name, Xu Dong really hadn’t expected that Mu Xi would be looking for Jing Yan.

He had initially thought it was a Pill Master from the Alchemist Association who killed or injured an important student of the Dao Yi Academy.

With Mu Xi, the Vice Hall Master of the Dao Yi Academy Criminal Punishment Hall coming over to demand the person, certainly he couldn’t just hand them over easily.

This was a matter of the Alchemist Association’s dignity.

Yet unexpectedly, the person Mu Xi wanted was that damned bastard, Jing Yan.

Indeed, it was hard to imagine, and Xu Dong did know that Jing Yan had obtained the Golden Order and joined the Dao Yi Academy.

But the problem was, as an unparalleled genius like Jing Yan joining the Dao Yi Academy, shouldn’t he be receiving key training?

Why would the Criminal Punishment Hall come looking for him?

Now that Mu Xi had spoken out, it seemed that Jing Yan indeed had made a big mistake within the Dao Yi Academy.

Xu Dong laughed heartily.

“Brother Xu Dong, this Jing Yan is also a student of our Dao Yi Academy.

He has committed a grave error and must face the trial of the Criminal Punishment Hall.

Please, Brother Xu Dong, hand him over to me to bring back to the Dao Yi Academy,” Mu Xi, unaware of the deep enmity between Xu Dong and Jing Yan, said.

He thought he would need to go to great lengths to persuade Xu Dong to agree to hand over Jing Yan.

“Brother Mu Xi, since Jing Yan is a student of the Dao Yi Academy, what reason do I have to stop you from taking him back for trial?

Rest assured, I will call him over now, and you can take him back to face trial,” Xu Dong said to Mu Xi with a smile.

Xu Dong wished he could kill Jing Yan himself.

Now that such an opportunity had arisen, he certainly wouldn’t deliberately obstruct Mu Xi from taking Jing Yan away.

Mu Xi was slightly taken aback by Xu Dong’s words.

It was too easy!

He really hadn’t expected Xu Dong to agree to hand over Jing Yan so readily.

However, this was of course good news for him.

Before coming to Xu Dong, he had prepared for the possibility that the Alchemist Association would refuse to hand over the person.

“Thank you, Brother Xu Dong,” Mu Xi also smiled.

In Jing Yan’s Alchemy Room, Jing Yan emerged from the Qiankun Space.

During these past few days, he had almost used up the Spirit Grass he had exchanged for the first time from the Alchemist Association’s storehouse.

These Spirit Grasses had all turned into various Elixirs.

It was time to exchange these Elixirs for more Spirit Grass.

Jing Yan pursed his lips.

At this rate, he wouldn’t need a month to accumulate enough resources to breakthrough to the Innate Peak Realm.

Once he entered the Innate Peak Realm, he would inevitably possess the power to contend with Shang Qu.

“Jing Yan!”

Just as Jing Yan walked out of his Alchemy Room, a Manager, approached him.

“Come with me!” The Manager, also a fourth-level Pill Master, commanded Jing Yan with a dark face.

“Where to?” Jing Yan frowned.

Jing Yan recognized this Manager; he was one of Xu Dong’s men.

Xu Dong’s people looking for him definitely meant no good.

“Quit the nonsense, if I tell you to follow me, you’d better just comply,” the Manager snapped rudely.

Jing Yan frowned again.

“Sorry, I’m really busy.

If you have something to say, then say it.

If you have to fart, then fart.

As for following you, who the hell do you think you are?” Jing Yan’s attitude was also unyielding.

“You…” The Manager’s face turned cold.

Perhaps he hadn’t expected Jing Yan to be so insubordinate.

No matter what, he was a fourth-level Pill Master and a Manager for the Alchemist Association; Jing Yan, a mere Second-level Alchemist, dared to directly confront him.

That was outrageous!

“If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving,” Jing Yan said and proceeded to walk away.

“Stop right there!” The Manager bellowed, voice rising sharply, quickly drawing the attention of the other Pill Masters.

Several nearby Pill Masters all looked towards them.

“Vice President Xu Dong wants to see you!” the Manager said in a sinister tone.

“Heh, sorry, but even if Vice President Liu Wen wants to see me, it depends on whether I’ve got the time, and right now, I really don’t have time to see him.

A good dog doesn’t block the way; you should step aside!” Jing Yan said with a laugh.

Jing Yan had an irreconcilable relationship with Xu Dong; he naturally didn’t have to give face to the other side.

“Jing Yan, don’t go too far.

You don’t know what kind of fate you’re facing, do you?

Let me tell you openly, the Vice Hall Master of the Dao Yi Academy Criminal Punishment Hall has personally come to take you back for trial.

I’d advise you to cooperate willingly,” the Manager said with a cold laugh.

“Hmm?” Jing Yan was startled.

The Vice Hall Master of the Dao Yi Academy Criminal Punishment Hall?

Instantly, Jing Yan’s thoughts whirled, and he quickly realized that this matter was very likely connected to the assassination of Qian Bo in the Setting Sun Valley at the Dao Yi Academy.

At the time, Sun Xiao had made some ambiguous remarks, which now seemed to indicate that Qian Bo was not as simple as he appeared on the surface.

Perhaps Qian Bo had other influences behind him.

Otherwise, if it was just a matter of a single High-level Student being killed, it wouldn’t be enough to warrant the Vice Hall Master of the Criminal Punishment Hall personally coming to the Alchemist Association to demand someone.

“Aren’t you coming?” the Manager’s deep voice demanded.

“I want to see Vice President Liu Wen!” Jing Yan declared emotionlessly.

“You little brat, still thinking of calling for help?

You’ve got no chance; if you don’t come with me, I’ll be forced to take action!” The Manager’s presence surged, seemingly ready to make a move at any moment.

He was a fourth-level Pill Master and a Dao Spirit Realm powerhouse.

Although Jing Yan’s combat power was close to that of a Dao Spirit Realm fighter, he still couldn’t compare to a true Dao Spirit Realm Martial Artist.

If they really fought, Jing Yan would have no chance of escaping.

Thinking of this, Jing Yan chuckled.

“Don’t be so tense; I’ll go see Xu Dong with you,” Jing Yan said.

He knew that if there was really a fight, he definitely wouldn’t be a match for this Dao Spirit Realm Martial Artist.

Resisting was useless; he’d first go to see old man Xu Dong before deciding on further action.

Besides, quite a few Pill Masters had noticed the altercation between them, and Jing Yan believed that Pill Masters from Liu Wen’s faction would immediately report the matter to Liu Wen.

Moments later, Jing Yan followed the Manager to Xu Dong’s room.

“Vice President, I have brought Jing Yan,” the Manager respectfully reported to Xu Dong.

“Hmm!” Xu Dong waved his hand dismissively, his gaze settling on Jing Yan with a flicker of sinister light in his eyes.

Before Jing Yan arrived, Xu Dong had inquired Mu Xi about the situation and became even more pleased.

Because the trouble that Jing Yan had caused this time was not minor, once taken to the Dao Yi Academy Criminal Punishment Hall for trial, he’d likely be stripped of his skin if not killed outright.

Xu Dong also hinted to Mu Xi, hoping that the Criminal Punishment Hall would execute Jing Yan directly.

Even if they didn’t kill Jing Yan, they should at least cripple him.

“Brother Mu Xi, this lad here is Jing Yan,” Xu Dong pointed at Jing Yan and said to Mu Xi.

Mu Xi looked at Jing Yan, he had never seen Jing Yan before, so this was his first encounter with him.
