Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1435: Chapter 1436: Who Did This?

Upon learning that Chiang Qing is no longer in the mental hospital and her current whereabouts are unknown, Qi Taiguo became very anxious and restricted Cheng Su’s movements, insisting that someone accompany her if she needed to go out.

His wartime-level anxiety left Cheng Su feeling helpless. She said, ”Relax, she’s definitely not in Qing City right now!”

”How do you know? She’s ill, who knows where she’s hiding. You’re pregnant now and pretty far along, you absolutely can’t be careless,” Qi Taiguo replied.

Cheng Su tilted her head and said, ”I don’t know, it’s just a gut feeling. I haven’t sensed anything off around me; everything’s pretty calm and peaceful.”

A woman’s sixth sense told her that Chiang Qing wasn’t in Qing City.

”Whether she’s here or not, don’t even mention it; it’s better to be safe and vigilant,” Qi Taiguo said coldly. ”Since she was able to leave without anyone noticing, those behind her must be extraordinary. If she’s still fixated on this mess and comes over, then...”

”But your nervousness is rubbing off on me. The baby’s been restless these past few days. Such mood swings aren’t good for nurturing the baby,” Cheng Su said, frowning.

Qi Taiguo was stunned: ”Is that so?”

Cheng Su nodded, saying, ”The baby’s been moving too much.”

”Well, that means he’s pretty active,” Qi Taiguo laughed. ”Alright, I’ll handle anything major, don’t worry, just relax.”

”Come here, let me lean on you.” Cheng Su gestured.

When Qi Taiguo sat down, she rested her head on his shoulder and said, ”You shouldn’t be too tense. Chiang Qing’s greatest backing is gone. Especially at this critical moment, who would dare to help her do something noticeable? Even if she wants to stir up trouble, she’ll hide for a while!”

”Hmm!” Qi Taiguo’s muscles relaxed, and he said, ”I’m not afraid of anything else, just worried that she might become even crazier and harm you all. If it gets to that point, I’d quit being a soldier; I’d kill her myself.”

Cheng Suxin shivered and instinctively hugged his arm.

”Don’t say such things; it’ll scare the baby,” Cheng Su gently said.

Qi Taiguo grunted, then couldn’t help but roar softly after a while, ”Who the hell was so bored as to get her out? Aside from Chiang Tian, I can’t think of anyone else. Plus, she’s been inside for almost a year, whether she’s fully insane or half insane, what good does it do to let such a lunatic out? It’ll only bring calamity to the world.”

Cheng Su also pondered, saying, ”Could it be a hidden move from Jiang Conghe or the Loo Family, like the saying ’the cunning rabbit has three burrows’?”

”I don’t think so. Jiang Conghe was willing to send his daughter in, why would he use a valuable backup to get her out? He’d use it for himself, wouldn’t he? As for the Loo Family, if they had a fallback plan, they’d wait until her sentence was completed to act. So I don’t think it’s either of those families; they’re all selfish people, and even if they thought of Chiang Qing, it wouldn’t be to act now.” Qi Taiguo’s mind was particularly clear.

”If it’s none of them, why was Chiang Qing taken away? What’s worth doing this for her? Who exactly did this?” Cheng Su murmured, ”To go through such trouble to get her out of the hospital, and keep it secret, there must be a motive, right? Either it’s something related to the Jiang and Loo families, or it’s something connected to Chiang Qing herself. Those behind it surely have a hidden agenda. We’ll see what kind of leverage she holds!”

Qi Taiguo pressed his lips together; after Cheng Su’s analysis, he too felt that those people had an agenda!
