Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1405: Chapter 1406: Trapped Beast

Under the same sky, some families are joyful while others are sorrowful. This New Year’s Eve, a time for family reunions, is witnessing a scene of life and death in a certain hospital.

It’s the fallen Loo Family. After a stroke, Old Master Loo has been lying in a hospital bed, and now he can’t hold on any longer. So his children have been brought to his bedside for a final farewell.

Old Master Loo looked at his children before him, his old eyes filled with tears. He had lived a glorious life, but never expected to die so disgracefully, leaving this world with a prisoner’s identity.

”Dad, don’t leave us. What will we do if you go?” Lu Shufen cried out, clinging to the old master.

She was his most beloved youngest daughter, pampered in every way. Despite the pressure, he fulfilled her wish to marry the person she wanted, even though the man was already married.

Old Master Loo struggled to raise his hand, but he had no strength, making wheezing sounds like a broken bellows.

”Dad, that bastard Jiang Conghe sent my Qingqing to the psychiatric hospital. Now we don’t know where Qingqing might be suffering. Dad, you have to get better and stand up for me, Dad...” Lu Shufen cried.

What?

Old Master Loo’s eyes widened in shock, unable to believe his ears. How could this happen? Wasn’t Qingqing supposed to be sent to the United States? How did she end up in a psychiatric hospital?

He breathed heavily, clearly on the verge. Lu Zhenhua quickly pulled his sister away, scolding, ”Shufen, of all times, why are you agitating Dad now?” Then he approached the old man’s mouth, whispering, ”Dad, do you have any last wishes? Any backup plans? Twelve years, I’ll be out soon, and I’ll rise again. Shaojun will be out in three years...”

Old Master Loo opened his mouth, exhaling so strongly that it fogged up the oxygen mask.

Lu Zhenhua simply removed his oxygen mask, bringing his ear closer to his mouth.

”Shen, Gao...” Old Master Loo wheezed heavily.

Lu Zhenhua leaned in closer, ”Dad, please speak clearly.”

Old Master Loo’s eyes widened, his head lifted slightly, and he managed to say a few words in a rapid tone before falling back, taking his last breath, not at peace.

”Dad...”

The hospital room was filled with cries. Someone outside the room glanced in and quietly walked away without disturbing anyone.

In a hall where a Chinese New Year gala was taking place, in a hidden room, someone was talking about the matter.

”...It’s just been confirmed, Old Master Loo is gone.” A young man spoke to someone hidden in the shadows.

”It’s about time. He was so old, he lived long enough, and given his situation, dying might be better than living. Living would just be more suffering!” The person took a drag of a cigarette, speaking coldly.

”You’re right. Who would’ve thought the Loo Family would collapse so suddenly? Fortunately, you were abroad for an inspection at the time. Otherwise, it would’ve been troubling if they targeted you.” The young man said.

The person chuckled softly, then asked, ”The Loo Family is done for. Without the old master, Lu Zhenhua can’t rise, no matter what backup he has. Leave it. Have you found Chiang Qing?”

”We found her. Turns out she wasn’t sent abroad. Jiang Conghe put her in the psychiatric hospital, handled by his son Jiang Dafang!” The young man replied.

”Oh, Jiang Conghe is quite ruthless. Where is she?”

”In Qingshan Psychiatric Hospital. Shall we get her out?”

”No rush. Have you ever played with a trapped beast? Drive it to despair, then when you rescue it, it will be utterly loyal to you.” The person smiled, and the young man looked up briefly, then lowered his head again.
