Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1412: Chapter 1413: Look Forward

After seeing off her in-laws, Cheng Su enjoyed a few days of freedom. On the twelfth day, the jam factory resumed operations, and as the boss, she made a point to visit, handing out red envelopes and such.

Qi Fengping, following her mother’s instructions, stayed by Cheng Su’s side often, which made Cheng Su feel a bit unaccustomed, but after a few days, she had to get used to it.

With the factory reopening, Cheng Su also inquired with the foreman responsible for the new plant construction. It was estimated that the project would be completed by early February, so she asked Xiao Pinshan to start preparing for the procurement of new equipment.

Now that the factory was expanding and manpower was increasing, it wasn’t appropriate for Xiao Pinshan to manage everything alone as the manager. Therefore, Cheng Su promoted Zhu Lifen to be the business manager in charge of the entire business department.

Of course, as the company develops, more department managers will be needed in the future, such as for the technical department, marketing department, finance department, human resources department, and so on.

The team needs to develop gradually, so Cheng Su held a meeting to encourage people to be proactive. Besides that, naturally, the company’s plans and prospects for the new year had to be discussed.

Qi Fengping stayed with Cheng Su the entire time. During the meeting, she stood outside the door, watching from a distance as her sister-in-law spoke eloquently, sometimes pondering while touching her chin, sometimes concluding decisively. Her gestures exuded the aura of a strong woman.

It turned out, this sister-in-law was not as simple as she had imagined. Making money wasn’t easy; it required strategy and a lot of preparation.

In hindsight, she had thought her money came as effortlessly as being blown in by the wind!

Seeing Cheng Su’s confident demeanor again, a trace of admiration and envy flashed in Qi Fengping’s eyes, as she bit her lip.

Finally, after Cheng Su finished speaking and was about to leave, Qi Fengping accompanied her out.

”Were you bored waiting? I told you, you could have stayed home. I could have come alone,” Cheng Su said as she rubbed her back.

Being pregnant is different from not being pregnant; sitting for a long time made her back ache.

Qi Fengping helped her carry her bag, supporting her by the arm, and said, ”Staying at home would just mean watching TV. It’s fine to come out with you for a walk.”

”If you’re not watching TV, you could have gone somewhere else, like the park,” Cheng Su laughed.

Qi Fengping lowered her head, ”I don’t want to go!”

Cheng Su paused, turning to look at her. The young girl’s face showed no smile.

”What is it? Still can’t let go of the past?” she asked softly.

Qi Fengping’s expression changed slightly, and she quickly replied, ”It’s not that. I forgot about it long ago!”

”If you truly forgot, you wouldn’t have reacted so defensively,” Cheng Su patted her hand and said, ”One’s character doesn’t change overnight. Even after going through significant changes, how could one’s nature change just like that? Your heart is still quite resentful, right?”

Qi Fengping bit her lip hard and let out a humph.

”You don’t have to deliberately forget what you can’t forget. In the future, when your life becomes fulfilling and busy enough, you might find you’ve forgotten without even trying!” Cheng Su said.

Qi Fengping retorted sharply, ”It’s easy for you to say. How can one forget such painful things? Have you also forgotten about your miscarriage?”

As soon as the words left her mouth, both fell silent, Qi Fengping a bit flustered, not daring to look at her. Cheng Su stood still, after a moment she said, ”I haven’t forgotten, but I’m not dwelling on it anymore, because I don’t want to be at odds with myself. That child, at that time, had no fate with me, and now, hasn’t another come along?”

She gently touched her belly, speaking softly, ”So, don’t look back; look forward instead!”

Qi Fengping said softly, ”I’m sorry.”
